JCM 800 + 1960a Cabinet

Hello:

I just purchased a Marshall JCM 800 Head and a 1960a cabinet for my office (small space not the best for this set up), but I am very new to marshall amps and heads.

would anyone know which settings on the back of the head to set to?  it is a small space and dont want to mow any down with the volume.  Everytime I switch it off I head a very loud electric 'switch' sound, sort of scary and worries me (dont want to damage the eqipment).

Any suggestions from anyone.

Thanks so much in advance...

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your question, sorry for the delay we are open Monday to Friday.

The amplifier should be set to 16 ohms with the speaker lead from either speaker socket plug the other end into the 16ohms mono socket on the 4x12 setting the switch on the 4x12 to mono. The noise you hear when swithing off is quite normal and should not damage the amplifier.

Kind Regards
