Hello,

I use  a Marshall DSL 40 C and i would like to have an extension with one  Marshall 1960 AV.

On the Marshall 1960 AV ,  connections are  : -1 x 4 ohm imput or 8 ohms right

                                                                                                       -  1 x 16 ohms imput or 8 ohms left

                                                                                                        - a selector for Mono or Stereo

I read that he DSL40C can drive either 1x16 ohms ,1x8 ohm or 2x 16ohm cabinets.

My  questions are  :

Can  I use the internal speaker and the external cabinet together  ? . I know that to use only the DSL 40 C , the connection is on the 1 x 16 ohms socket.

I have only  one cabinet , which selector position is correct ? Mono or stereo.

Which connections are correct  ?

Thanks for your help .

Regards

Fred

Hi Frederic,

Thank you for your message, You would need to connect to the Mono 16Ohms on the Cab for this to work.

Hi Marshall Team,
Thank you for your answer . If I understand , I can't use the internal speaker of my DSL 40 C with the cab.
On the DSL 40 C , i should use the 16 ohms

If you have a 16 ohm speaker in the 40C, which you should unless you've changed it out, and a 16 ohm setting for your cabinet you would connect the internal speaker to the one 8 ohm jack and the cab, using the 16 ohm setting, to the other 8 ohm jack.  That way you can drive  the internal speaker and the external cab.  I know it sounds wrong, to use the 16 ohm setting and plug into the 8 ohm jack but having two 16 ohm loads = 8 ohms.
