Trying to get my Marshall DSL40 40/20W 1x12 -Ch Tube Combo to sound good

I have had this amp for a few months and still can't seem to dial in a good sound. It is my first Marshall and first tube amp. I have looked on-line for settings to no avail. This also has the upgraded Creamback speaker from Sweetwater.

I use this mostly at home and am looking for a good clean tone and a good distorted tone.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use the 20 watt setting.

Thanks

First off, don't follow sound advice from on line. Your amp isn't going to sound like the amp being discussed. No amp sounds the same. Tube amps sound completely different from solid state.  They are warmer.

2nd, your sound is yours. On a tube amp, cut back on lows and mids. Because the amp has a warmer tone, you don't need as much. As far as the distortion side, you may need to change the tubes. I haven't had to change tubes in a while, so not familiar with tubes. But your sound needs to be your own. Don't copy everyone else. That's what makes guitar players stand out. Good luck.
