went to my local GC and intended to buy a 'Marshall Code' after my Blackstar ID: Core went out. Since Marshall spent more money into marketing the Code than they do their tube amps, I expected it had to be fresh, new, and great. Its very feature-rich with 100 presets 24 onboard effects, and Bluetooth connectivity - a feature I love. Unfortunately, it didn't sound as good as I hoped it would.
I spent quite a bit of time trying to dial in a rich, warm crunch tone (with a GC employee's assistance) but the Marshall Code inherently sounds too thin and electronics to produce the Marshall amp tones it claims to mimic. I don't need 100 presets. I just need 4 or 5 that sound great. I really hoped (and expected) it would sound better. - john bard26 Mar 2019 at 02:52 PM
