Marshall CODE 100 Head feedback problem

Hi,

I use de Plexi/Classic 100W for an Angus Young tone. When I crank up the volume above 1/3 I got a lot of feedback noise. It is like the sound of a mic that picks up its own sound from a speaker. Whatever I try do to, it won't go away.

I bought this amp with the CODE 412 Cabinet for stage performances, but it is unusable this way. Can you please help me to solve thsis problem?

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi, Paul!. Do you use any stompboxes in the FX section?

No, just the amp, no other effect pedals.

No, even if I turn the presence down to zero. I have this problem with also with all the standard presets with distortion in it, like for example the JCM800 Heavy preset. I noticed that somebody else has the same problem with the CODE 50:

CODE50 - Get a horrible feedback when i turn it up loud

https://my.marshall.com/forum/question/596/code50---get-a-horrible-feedback-when-i-turn-it-up-loud?filterType=recent&myActivity=True

Like this, the amp is totally unusable on stage or in the practice room with a band.

Who can help me out here?

Try playing with the built in noisegate value.

Noise gate is already on 5.0  A higher setting effects the sound.
