Marshall Origin 20H - operating with no speaker connected for DI recording

Hello,

The manual is very sparse about this. Could you please clearly outline the steps needed to safely operate Origin 20H with no speaker connected when using DI out for recording?

Is the DI out mono unbalanced or "stereo" balanced jack socket?

Hello Marek,

The amplifier can be used without a speaker connected as it has a built in internal load, the DI is unbalanced.

So hang on. The origin 20 head doesn’t need an amp connected to it ? I thought it had to be connected to an amp at all times when in use ? - 08 Apr 2020 at 06:29 AM

The ORI 20 has a built in load so can be used without a speaker connected.

Hi, that's great but why on the back of the ORI 20 head it says 'CONNECT THE SPEAKER BEFORE USE' ??? That clearly sound like 'beware, head only works if connected to a speaker' - 28 Jun 2020 at 11:37 AM
