Origin 20 Head - DI Out

I have an Origin 20 head with a 4x12 slant cab. I also have a Behringer interface for recording.

I have 3 questions.,...

1) Can I connect the DI Out to my interface?

2) Should I use a speaker or instrument cable?

3) I have attempted to connect to both a PA amp and to my interface and get an electric hum. I can still hear my instrument but the hum makes it unusable for recording purposes. Is there a way to eliminate this hum?

  1. Can I connect the DI Out to my interface?

Yes, you can, as long as the interface has a line level input.

  1. Should I use a speaker or instrument cable?

You should always use a good quality, screened cable to stop unwanted hums and buzzes.

It’s difficult to say where the noise is coming from but again, it’s important to use good quality screened cables (like a guitar lead for example) to stop unwanted noise being induced.
I’d suggest running your interface to your PA without the Origin plugged in.
If the hum persists without the Origin plugged in, the problem will either be incompatibility or a cable issue between the PA & the interface
