Hi. I'm having a problem with my DSL5CR. When plugged direct into the amp and switched to the Classic gain channel it works perfectly. However, when switched to the Ultra gain channel, the guitar is very faint and what can be heard is a weak-fuzzy sound. When I first noticed the problem, I thought it was a case of the tubes needing to warm up, as after 30 seconds the level would gradually increase, unfortunately the problem has got worse. Could it be the pre-amp tubes at fault?
Thanks,
Steve
Just realised the classic gain channel (clean) is louder than the ultra gain channel on my amp. Is this normal? This is with both channels being set the same. Also the preamp tube for the classic gain channel is very dim to the point it's hard to see it lighting up! This is my first tube amp so I'm pretty clueless.
Hi,
Have just replaced my DSL5c with new version and i see valve layout has changed. Can i replace the ecc99 with a TAD12bh7a which I still have? Apparently depending on circuit or amp design this can be possible.
Also why the reduction to 2 ecc83's? Your site and Sweetwater both list this new model as having 3 ecc83's! Is my new amp wrong? Is the phase inverter missing?
Thanks
Mike
