When I plug my headphones into the headphone jack, the amp still plays out of the speaker. Is this supposed to happen? How can I disable this?

Hi Marshall team, my ORI20H says on the back 'CONNECT SPEAKERS BEFORE USE'.

So, is it wrong? I read in the forum that it has an internal dummy load, so that it can be also used without the speaker connected, for example putting in the Di/out: the headphone jack or a mono instrument cable to an audio interface/multitrack recorder/pa/mixer.

So, no need to connect the cabinet? IS IT SAFE?

Thanks and regards

Hi, I bought a Marshall Kilburn 2 speaker from a local retailer in Vietnam. Can I check if it original or not? If yes, how can I do the check up with the serial number? Thank you for your support.

Hi

I've got an apple music subscription, and my alexa app has been linked to it.   Apple music works fine with echo devices, but just not on this speaker.

The new Stockwell 2 seems to come with an auto-standby mode, meaning it shuts off after between 5 min and 20 min (seems to be different from a phone versus a laptop?) even if the connection via bluetooth or jack-in is stable. Although the sound is nice for the size, the speaker is barely useful in settings where sound is not played all the time.

Team Marshall, can you please provide an option to define a custom time (let's say 2h) or completely disable the  auto-standby mode either by a Firmware update ob by integrating the Stockwell 2 into the Marshall app? Thanks.

Best
Rey

I have a Two Notes CAB M and was wondering whether I could use the fx loop send into the CAB M for speaker simulation and then into headphones but effectively mute the speaker by not plugging anything into fx return? I'm thinking the speaker would still be connected and the amp would see the load but have I missed something and will this damage the amp?

I dont know why you removed the feature of turning off the standby mode. It was a terrible decision. We need smart devices and not dumb ones. You really expect me to press a button on the speaker every time I use it after 20 minutes? Please update the app and firmware so we can enable turning off this stupid feature.

Hi,

I just bought Stanmore 2, I can link it via Bluetooth to my iPhone 11 Pro just fine, but it just won't play anything. When I start playing any music in the iOS player, it just plays it via the iPhone speakers, not via Stanmore 2. I have tried "forgetting device", "manaully restarting" it by clicking the proper buttons as it says on your website. Even when I play music in the iOs player, the player in the Marshall app is empty and nothing is happening.

The only time it appeared to work was on my laptop, when both the speaker and laptop were muted and I moved the volume on Stanmore 2. The same however didn't work for either my PC or my iPhone. And both my PC and my laptop say that the speaker has "0 % battery". It wouldn't even firstly work on my laptop, only half an hour later.

So what the hell is going on? Do I have a faulty model? The speaker cost almost 350 USD, I wouldn't expect such problems. Could you please advise me what to do?

Thank you.

Best,

When using Spotify Connect to play music on my new Acton Multi-Room speaker I get intermittent audio crackling, almost like static. Is anyone else having this problem? It does not happen with other audio sources, like internet radio stations.

Hi,

I have the Acton II and two major issues.

issue 1 - it does not seem to autoconnect to the bluetooth of the speaker, essentially making me manually pair the device to my phone every time i use it.

Issue 2 - When i have succesfully paired the device to my phone it quite often pairs and then unpairs it (including the sound made by Acton when pairing / unpairing).

Please let me know if this is issue is known and to be solved or it is the result of faulty hard/software and i need to ask for a new speaker.

Kind regards,

Pim

Hi there,

I have a problem with the Stanmore II Speaker.
It is connected via Cable to Amazons Alexa. When music is played, it always is ínterrupted by the starting/pairing sound (that e-guitar chords)
as if some device is trying to connect with the speaker. we turned every device nearby off (which shouldn't be the idea, right?) but it still
continues. it's quite annoying.

any ideas?

Looking for that Jimmy Page clean mid-range grind from the film The Song Remains the Same, not record - (and yes, I know he used a Plexi and had his Paul modded)  / Steve Jones Never Mind The Bullocks grind (and yes, I know, he used a Fender Twin with a Custom Paul). I want to get in the ballpark of these sounds if possible, but I'm afraid I have the wrong head and DEFINITELY the wrong speakers (1960B 4 X 12 with G12 T - 75's which are garbage IMO). Here's my set-up, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Guitar: 2001 Les Paul Standard with Alnico 2 PU's. If you have alternative pick up suggestions (Whole Lotta Humbucker, PAF's?) or Capacitor Suggestions (which I heard make a big difference) please feel free. My real concern is:

JCM 2204 50 Watt from the 80's - I've read that this is more of a metal amp. That's what I'm not going for. I'm wondering if I should have saved up and gone for a Plexi - it's that classic, relatively clean grind with that mid-range hump that I'm going for. Is this true? Can anything be done - it simply has no clarity and is muddy, no matter what is done through adjusting knobs (pre-amp, master vol., gtr. vol., drive pedals MXR). This brings me to my next question concerning speakers. I've done a considerable amount of research, but seem to be going down a rabbit hole of more questions. Once again, any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Speaker Replacement Options for the G 12 T - 75's

1. Two Alnico Blues with Two G 12 M's - I know that the Blues are louder and more aggressive than the GB's. I've also heard the The Blues can blow out a 50 Watt Head - is this true?
I love the blues because they cut and grind, even if they are a tad aggressive. Perhaps the combo with the G 12 M's could temper it a bit (they're creamy). Is this combo possible? Will it sound unbalanced since the blues are louder?

2. Investing in Scumbacks or Webers but which ones? Honestly, I prefer the Alnico blues and G 12 M's after hearing a comparison between Scumbacks and G 12 Heritage and G 12 M's on YT, but I may be missing out on something here because better, more experienced players than me rave about them.

3. Two G 12 M's and Two G 12 Heritage - I've read conflicting reports on whether they jive together.

4. Four Heritage?

Thank you and once again any help would be appreciated.

Got an issue with my Marshall Stanmore wifi speaker. When playing music through Wifi or Bluetooth the volume always goes down on its own. Have to turn up the volume between 5-10 times before it stops turning down the volume on its own. Wifi and Bluetooth connection are fine, it has this issue which each connected device I've tried and with all apps (spotify, Google Music, YouTube,...). Any idea on settings or stuff i can check? Maybe a firmware update something?

There a many questions on this forum about the irritating noise with Code 25 and Code 50.  However, it happens via the speaker only, not via the headphone connection. The presets sounds very nice in that situation. Can you explain?

Because of the noise issue I just use the Natural sound and add FX pedal effects. No noise at all. But that is not the way I want to use the Code 25. I want to use the presets.

Hi, Do someone know if the "custom voiced" speakers on a CODE 4x12 8ohm cabinet are the same as in the mg412a cabinet ? The mg cab is loaded with celestion g12-412mg 8ohm speakers that look like celestion rocket 50 but seem to be rated at 30 watts ... because the cab is rated 120w... some AVT cabs are loaded with celestion g12-412avt and some with celestion rocket 50 but AVT cabs are 16ohm (maybe the cause of suffixes change on the g12..) I've browsed  the celestion website to find some answer and the only one that had the same magnet is the rocket 50 and is rated to 50 watts... i would like to know what kind of speakers are on the CODE cab and if the mg412a cabinet sounds about the same as the CODE 412 cab with a CODE 100h head ...i don't like the format of the CODE cab...but want to keep all the tone modeling capabilities of the CODE 100w head

Hello, i have a problem connecting my acton 2 speaker to the laptop. I find it on the laptop, pair it with the speaker and it gives out a message that the speaker has 0% battery and doesnt play anything, even though the speaker is connected through power cable. The 3,5 jack works, but bluetooth doesn't.
