Goodness me!
I just unpacked my two brand new Stanmore 2 (Voice) speakers.

I am using an IPhone XS max on IOS 13.6

I successfully connected them to Google Home and can use this app to play music.
I successfully connected them as generic Bluetooth devices and can use them individually for Bluetooth audio.

BUT I cannot get Marshall's own IPS apps to recognise them!
Marshall "Bluetooth" doesn't recognise their existence when they are switched as Bluetooth input, neither does Marshall "Multi Room" when they are switched as WiFi input.

So Marshall's own apps are a FAIL
Apparently I need the app to be able to "Couple" them as a stereo pair, which was the reason I purchased two speakers!

Anyone else having a similar problem?
I did notice on the Apple app store a comment from a downloader who had experienced the exact same problem, so clearly this is a known issue for Marshall.

I have reported this to Marshall support but I have no experience of them so I don't know how responsive they are?

Hi,

I have found a weird thing that may or may not be known with iOS + Bluetooth and the Code 50.

The CODE 50 when playing backing tracks / using it as a Bluetooth speaker is very quiet (So the master is wacked up and the playing guitar is extremely loud).

and the weirdest thing (which physically makes sense but still it shouldn't do it) is that the Amp is predominatly a Left speaker when playing music through bluetooth as my phone (iPhone 6S) thinks my amp is bluetooth headphones rather than speaker (as the headphone icon pops up on the top right).

My amp is on the latest firmware update.

Is there any fix for this? There's nothing in the gateway app for audio balencing

I used My Gateway to set up all my presets in the order that I'd like them to be.  My Amp is plugged into the computer via USB.  It is connected.
Now that I've arranged things through My Gateway, the amp does not seem to sync with it.

IF I pull up the app on my phone, while the amp is off, the library in the app reflects the order that is in MyGateway.  The moment I turn on the amp, and connect my phone to the amp, the library in my phone changes to reflect the old settings still on the amp.

The only way I know how to set a preset in a specific spot is to go download it again, while my amp is connected, and dialed into the placeholder for which I need it to set.

Is the sync a slow process?  Should I walk away from it, and let it sit and think for awhile?  Is there a button, or combo of buttons I should be pressing after I've saved my work in MyGateway, in order for it to update the amp?

Just got my Marshall Code 25 and I'm pleased with the sounds, but there are a few presets that I will never use. Is there a way to delete either from the amp or through the phone app?

Hi All,

I'm using the Gateway app on an iPAD mini with the latest IOS.  What I can't get to work is the auto-rotate function (to view it "sideways" when my iPAD is on its stand).  Is this a Gateway app limitation?

Why in my "My Gateway" tab, in the list of presets on the left (from 00 to 50) there is the gear symbol for the changes of the presets, but in the list on the right there is not? (from 51 to 99) I cannot copy the presets from the list on the right to My Library without that command !!

I dont know why you removed the feature of turning off the standby mode. It was a terrible decision. We need smart devices and not dumb ones. You really expect me to press a button on the speaker every time I use it after 20 minutes? Please update the app and firmware so we can enable turning off this stupid feature.

Dear Marshall-Team,

just bought a code 25. I wanted to pair the code 25 with my IPhone X and the gateway app, but it doesn´t work.

The Phone is connected to the code 25 via bluetooth, but the gateway app is installed successfully, but doesn´t recognise the code 25 to pair.

I´ve already tried all recommended troubleshootings without success.

Could you please give me any further help.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards

Oliver

Hi,

I just bought Stanmore 2, I can link it via Bluetooth to my iPhone 11 Pro just fine, but it just won't play anything. When I start playing any music in the iOS player, it just plays it via the iPhone speakers, not via Stanmore 2. I have tried "forgetting device", "manaully restarting" it by clicking the proper buttons as it says on your website. Even when I play music in the iOs player, the player in the Marshall app is empty and nothing is happening.

The only time it appeared to work was on my laptop, when both the speaker and laptop were muted and I moved the volume on Stanmore 2. The same however didn't work for either my PC or my iPhone. And both my PC and my laptop say that the speaker has "0 % battery". It wouldn't even firstly work on my laptop, only half an hour later.

So what the hell is going on? Do I have a faulty model? The speaker cost almost 350 USD, I wouldn't expect such problems. Could you please advise me what to do?

Thank you.

Best,

I have an iPhone 11 with the latest updates from Apple.  When I attempt to install the Marshall Gateway app on my phone the following error message appears:

"Context3D not available!  Possible reason: wrong renderMode or missing device support."

How can I fix this?

Update:  I followed the instructions to ensure the app was not running in the background, uninstalled, reinstalled and it works!

Cheers

Hi all,

Along with a number of people on here it seems, I am having trouble with the Marshall Gateway App, which won't seem to connect to my Code 50 amp.

It worked first time round when I set it up, but now, a couple of weeks later, it won't connect. The phone says its connected and I can play music through it (when playing You Tube it comes out of the amp) but the gateway app says its not connected.

Unlike a few people on here, I can scan for amps and click the connect button, but with my phone sat on the amp, it just says 'connecting..." forever and ever and it doesn't. Why??!!

I've tried unconnecting and reconnecting the app on my phone as is recommended and switching the amp on and off but no joy.

Can anyone help and has anybody else had the same problem and managed to fix it?

Many thanks

Craig

Guys -

You need to get someone to fix the Bluetooth capabilities with this product line, like, yesterday. I updated the firmware yesterday, which was extremely difficult to do in the first place, uninstalled / reinstalled the Gateway app today, and still cannot connect to the amp except via my phone's native Bluetooth options to use it as a speaker. I am running ios 13.3.1.

I've scoured your web site, I've watched your videos, I've been all over Google and Youtube, and I am nowhere. In addition, I'm legitimately concerned by other reviews that the amp is simply not going to sound as good given I've updated the firmware. Will post again if that's the case.

I will see if I can push new presets to the amp via a hard connection to my PC, but you need to do serious damage control on this product line considering your leading selling point has proven to not work as intended, if at all.
