I guess with Marshall being a small company without much expertise in building amps, this should be expected.  Maybe once they've been around a while and get the hang of building amps then they'll be able to release products that work as advertised and that they are also able to maintain and provide support for.

Hang in there Marshall, you'll be a good amp company someday!

Not a question, just a general observation for discussion.

I've heard a lot of people saying they can only use a CODE 25 for home use with the master volume set at 2 or 3 .

The amp sounds much better with the master volume at 8 and the guitar volume set very low (using a Les Paul).

The amp sounds much fuller and more responsive.

After I power off the CODE 25 and power it on again, it doesn't start Bluetooth connection automatically (there's no blue light) and I have to press 'rev+power' and perform pairing every time. It looks like the amp just doesn't store bluetooth connection configuration?

So for every guitar session I have to start bluetooth manually and re-pair the device which is not convenient.

Could you please give a possibility to downgrade the firmware? I've read that bluetooth auto-connection was working fine on previous version.

Regards,

ilya

Hi I have had this Marshall Code 100 for a few weeks now, mucking around with it to try and figure it out and finding it to be a little user unfriendly. What I want to do is to change a single preset to what it was originally (eg factory setting) without doing a factory reset and losing all my other changed presets. I cannot find any joy anywhere about this. Also, when I look at the list of 100 presets online (there are a few lists going around in chat forums and also in the gateway section of this website) I can only ever find the 100 presets that are on the phone gateway app and not the list that was originally on the amp (for example on my amp when I factory reset it, 00 is JTM Chill, 01 is "So American" etc, whereas my gateway library has 00 as EL34 Heaven and 01 as Plexi Classic). So I cannot find the actual standard amp preset list anywhere online or within the Gateway app.

My questions boil down to three:

1. How do I restore an individual preset to what it originally was (without performing a factory reset)?

2. How do I even know what the original preset was called?

3. Say I connect my smartphone to the amp via gateway and bluetooth. If you click on the arrow on the right hand side of one of the presets in the library, it takes you to another screen. In that screen it has an amp section and a library section, with 2 small boxes you can tick next to each. What is the purpose of this screen and ticking the boxes? Like what can you actually change on this screen is it just the name of the preset or can you replace a preset that is on the amp with one that is in the gateway library?

Needless to say I am very confused and was hoping to be way ahead by this stage. Please help!

Hi!

Can I record sound connecting my Ubuntu Linux 18.04 via USB cable?

I think the Ubuntu does not recognize Marshall Code 25 as a recording device. I tried without success. Can you help, please?

Does anybody know when Code firmware update is expected to be released?

Current version causes serious issues with Bluetooth reconnecion after the amp is swiched off.  Also Master Volume does not work evenly and my CODE 25 is definitely too loud for practising at home.

Dear Marshall,

Yesterday I got my Marshall DSL5CR Amp V010A4469E 03-18.
Please advice how I should use the headphones with this Amp for a "silent" practice? According to a manual I should disconnect the speaker cable from the rear panel and connect the headphones to an Emulated out port. But it is so unusual to use a valve amplifier without a load of speaker.

For example, according to a manual for DSL5C (maybe previous model):
IMPORTANT OPERATIONAL NOTE: With all-valve amplifiers it is imperative that the amp is connected to a load whilst in operation and that the impedance output on the amp matches the total impedance of the speaker cabinet being used.

Bought a CODE 50 two weeks ago and LOVE the tones - great reproductions! But I have the hissing problem as well. Quite noticeable as a chord or note decays. At first, thought it was normal 60-cycle single coil pickup hum, but it is not.

Read similar Posts on the Forum, so tried the firmware update and it did not help. Noise gate not really an effective alternative, either.

Team Marshall, any other solutions in the work Again, otherwise I love the amp and want to keep it.

Thanks.

I want to buy a Marshall AS100D acoustic amp from an authorized dealer.  I can not find anyone that has one in stock other than Amazon.  Its listed for $724 an odd price and different than any other price I find, which is usually $699.  My concern is  Amazons listing states:   "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com".  If I buy this amp from Amazon and in the warranty peroid need to have it repaired will the warranty be honored by Marshall and Marshall Service Centers in USA?

Thanks,

So I bought a Marshall CODE 50 a bit ago, and with nearly device I've tried - there seems to be a lot of issues with getting the gateway app to connect to the amplifier in general (most of the time it doesn't work - despite pairing just fine).

I've tried this on the Samsung Galaxy S8, iPad 5th generation, iPhone 7+ - The connection issues seem to stem from the apps use of Btle on these devices.

To experiment, I built an application that connects to the amplifier via bluetooth for Windows, and issues commands to the amplifier through the PC. This application uses a "classic" (SPP /RFCOMM) socket connection to send commands. The application works perfectly fine via this means - it can be seen running below:

As an experiment - is there a way to force the mobile applications (if it isn't using a btclassic / rfcomm connection) to use a btclassic connection as opposed to btle?

Thanks and all the best,

Hi,

I recently purchased the CODE 25 and am having a hard time connecting it to my laptop with the USB cables that i have.  Does this require a special USB cable?

Dear Marshall Team,

I have an idea for expanding the Gateway program, for a panel with "favorite" few presets. This idea is primarily intended to use the Gateway program in an easy way during performances. At the moment, switching between used presets is relatively difficult if we want to do it quickly, just like during a concert. If you added such a panel, you could set several favorite sounds, and choosing them would be very fast, using large buttons.

Please let me know your opinion.

Hi, Is there a way to reduce the power on a Code 25 from 35w down to 5w or 1w like you get on modelling amps from 'other' manufacturers?

To use as a practice amp in my home, I'm having to set the master volume and volume controls really low on the amp and still dial it back on the guitar to the point it is affecting the tone of the preset.

Since this was not obviously available on the top panel, I wondered if it was available via the app but I can't find it if it is.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am using CODE25.

I updated the firmware to V1.41 yesterday, but since the update, Bluetooth is no longer automatically connected.

There is no problem right after pairing Bluetooth according to the way suggested in troubleshooting.
However, after rebooting CODE25 not recognize the device again on the iPhone's Bluetooth settings.
So to use the Gateway app, I have to pair it with REV and Power each time
These problems have been seen since the firmware update and before that there was no problem at all.
I hope to know if there is a way to fix the Bluetooth connection problem or roll back to older firmware.
Thanks

Ever since I connected a USB cable between my CODE 50 and set up this account I cannot get sound to come out of the speakers. My amp is all but dead.  HOW do I reboot or reset my amp to make sound come out of the speakers when I jack my guitar into it; turn the unit on; slowly raise the Volume GAIN and Master volume and hope to play something?

Does anyone know?  Thank you for your time.

Got my amp, Code 100 combo and loving it, lucky to have a present of the new PEDL CODE Footswitch.

Being a bit of a noob to this new amp technology, I have managed to save a  preset to the pedal, but no thanks to the instructional video mind you, which misses out the essential part that you are meant to press store on the amp and press the location on the pedal at the same time. There I was pressing the footswitch like it says in the video then trying to store. Very ambiguous instructions there, not clear at all.

However, one question is, once I turn off my amp, are the settings on the footswitch wiped out or are they stored until I want to delete them?

Also, it appears that I can only store to the pedal from the amp. So what if I'm using the amp in 'blue' mode from a hand held device?

That doesn't seem to work for me (using my preset from my handheld device and storing to the pedal that is) as it keep defaulting to an Amercian preset.

I may be doing something wrong, therefore I thought I'd ask the question, rather than just pull what little hair I have left out in frustration.

What are the limitations on the Code pedal? The documentation is woefully inadequote IMHO. The suppport video being just as poor.

I know the issue, it's software designed by software developers, with no end user experience being considered as opposed to using a UX team during development.

We either need more indepth clear and concise instructions, or a new video showing a detailed example how to save a preset (not just a voice over while looking at flashing LED's) and whether we can save, not only from the amp, but save a preset from the handheld device and store them for later use.

Sorry if the above is a bit of a moan, but if nobody moaned nothing would be done.

If you could answer my points above, that would be helpful.

Thanks

C.

Hi everyone!

Recently I bought Marshall CODE 25 and it's a great amp but I have one little problem with it.

There is a problem with MASTER potentiometer. I noticed that when I set it between 0-0.99 it is very very quiet but when I set it about 1.0 it becomes very loud. And in the effect it is very hard to play at "bedroom" volume levels. I must say that I'm disappointed - I had Yamaha THR 10 previously and it could play very well at every volume and it could play very quiet.

So to sum it up, is this some general issue with all CODE amps or something is broken in mine? Maybe master potentiometer needs repair?
