For those who gig with their marshall codes! Do you use any external pedals? Not so much wah or additional effects more along the lines of a booster pedal?

Great to hear what people’s set ups are like!

The PEDL-91009 Footcontroller for CODE Amplifiers gets confused (i.e., it "locks-up") with a specific Push-Button sequence. While this sequence may not be a "correct" sequence of events, it could be possible to accidently use this specific sequence during a gig which will effectively "lock-up" the PEDL-91009 Footcontroller completely. Once this "lock-up" condition occurs, the PEDL-91009 Footcontroller becomes a useless brick. The only way to rectify this condition is to turn the CODE Amplifier OFF and back ON again. This would not be a good scenario to be in during a live gig.

To duplicate the "lock-up" condition, follow these steps:

1. With the PEDL-91009 Footcontroller plugged into a CODE Amplifier, turn on the AC Power Switch.
2. The PEDL-91009 Footcontroller starts up with A1 (Bank A Location 1) either flashing or steady.
3. Using the fourth Footcontroller push-button, advance the Bank to "D" by momentarily pressing the push-button 3 times.
4. Select preset Location 3 by momentarily pressing the number 3 push-button. All is good.
5. Now you need the preset stored in Location D1 so momentarily depress the number 3 push-button. All is good.
6. Now you need the preset stored in Location D2 so momentarily depress the number 2 push-button. All is good.
NOTE: D2 contains the American Overdrive Reverb preset in Location 10.
7. Now depress and hold push-button 2 until "10" appears. This is the preset's Location within the CODE Amplifier.
8. Momentarily depress the Bank push-button and the display reverts back to "D2".
9. Once again depress and hold push-button 2 until "10" appears.
10. Now momentarily depress push-button 2 again. In the display, a "C" appears which is my Tuning Mode.
11. Now (accidently) momentarily depress the Bank push-button. ***LOCK-UP***

After Step 11, the PEDL-91009 Footcontroller is completely locked-up and can only be gotten out of this situation by cycling AC Power to the CODE Amplifier. While this may be an illegal sequence of events, the firmware should be able to handle this exception without locking-up.

Besides not doing Step 11, is there a way to get out of the locked-up condition from the PEDL-91009 Footcontroller?

Thanks for your time and assistance! Dave

Does the 100c have the capability to run a second 2x12 cabinet? It surely has enough power since the head is also 100 watts.

Hello everyone!
Someone could help me with some doubts that I have ... I had never connected my hearing aids to my code 50, last night I decided to try some solos playing the tracks of my cel from the gateway player to play the guitar along with the solos of the tracks ... But when I connected and listened to my headphones, the track of my cel played in the code50 sounded perfect on both channels of the headset, however my guitar when it was sounded, it was only heard in the right channel of my hearing aid. ..is this normal? the guitar only sounds on the right channel? or should it also sound on both channels? Is it strange that the track if it is heard and sounds perfect in both channels while I play the guitar and that my guitar is only heard in the right channel?
I appreciate Someone can give me some help, idea or suggestion.

Thank you!

Atte. René Enilver Martz.

Hello. I've lately been having difficultys with my MG50DFX Marshall amp. The problem is, is that the input jack will refuse to make a connection unless I hold the quarter inch jack up. I don't know much about amps and I'm hoping this is a simple fix. I've already taken the amp's motherboard out from the cabinet and taken the piece of plastic off of the top of the jack. I've attempted to bend the 2 metal pieces that make a connection to the male jack down, but to no avail. It still refuses to make sound without me holding the wire up; otherwise, it'll just make feedback. Any ideas?

Do the patches download to your iPhone for use in the gateway? Or do you have to have the USB connected and transfer via laptop to the amp?

Hi

I’ve used my Code 50 for the first time since updating my iPhone to iOS 11 today, and the Bluetooth connection is dropping every few seconds. I have to close the app, turn Bluetooth off and on and reopen the app. Then it drops again. I never had this problem before updating my iOS.

Has anyone else seen this?

Well for some of you this should "make your day"!!!  Couldn't resist posting about this!!!  Hope you don't mind my "stealing your thunder" Team Marshall!!!

At least one retailer / supplier in the UK received their shipment of both the CODE100C and CODE100H yesterday!!!  Unfortunately they did not receive any seperate PEDL-91010 footswitches though (so my problem is not yet solved but, nevertheless, this is good news is it not???).  I see that there is a 4 x 12" CODE cab. available as well (for the CODE100H).  Nice.

I have also contacted Amazon (UK) and they are contacting Marshall to see when they will receive the amps. and footswitches (and they promised to get back to me today so I will update once I hear from them).

There is also a retailer / supplier in the US that expects to begin shipping tomorrow (29th) apparently.

Have fun!!!

Unfortunately I'm "up to my ears" in Marshall CODE amps. so I cannot see myself ordering CODE100's anytime soon.  But it'd be really great to hear from those of you that do indeed manage to get their hands on them (especially the CODE100H with the 4 x 12" cab.).  Let us know what they're like.  My bet is that they sound just as good as any 100W valve head / cab. if set up right (I still marvel at the sound of these CODE amps. to be honest i.e. unless you have a REALLY "good ear" or are a "purist" you have to listen pretty darn hard to tell the difference) (if set up correctly of course).

Regards,

Dale.

My DSL40C suddenly began a fading out static when the standby switch is enabled, or disabled. Also the volume knobs don't do anything, anymore. The gain knobs increase the volume, but there is really no gain. These problems began suddenly and together.  I have new tubes on order. What is the most likely issue?

Thanks!

Is it possible to mod a Marshall Code 50 amp to add an effects loop that allows for running external effects through the power amp stage and bypassing the preamp stage? That is my main complaint of this amp- no effects loop.

Hi Support Team!

I am using a

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Device

with Android 7.0

and Gateway App v 1.4.2

to a Marshall Code25 with the latest Firmware Version (as of 25 Sep 2017). The Firmware Update Utility says v 1.0.0.15 N in the bottom left corner.

I was able to use Gateway to control the Code25 until a while ago, I am not entirely certain if it was until the latest Android Update, but have a strong feeling it was until then.

Now I am able to pair the devices, connect via Bluetooth, Stream Audio over the Code, also able to FIND the Code in the Gateway App, but unfortunately I am not able to connect in the Gateway App. When I tap the Code in the Connect Menu, it says "Connecting..." but then nothing happens. It just will not connect.

I tried all your troubleshooting from the website, including Firmware Update, re-installing Gateway, unpairing, forgetting device, re-pairing etc.

I always end up in the "Connect..." mode and am not able to control the Code via Gateway.

I was very happy with amp and experience and really liked the remote function via mobile and Gateway app, even more now I am very disappointed that this bug persists already a few weeks with no App update or firmware update seeming to fix this.

Please try to recreate the bug with the described configuration and please find a solution and release a bugfix/new software version.

Many thanks in advance and kind regards

Chris

Hello, Folks!

The Marshall Gateway app seems to be good, but it simply hasn't worked on my phone yet. I've got a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and I couldn't change the parameters on my Marshall Code 50. What can I do? I tried to send a song from my phone to the amp through Bluetooth connection and it worked fine.

Sincerely yours,
