Hi all, I was hoping I could get an owners manual downloaded for my JCM 2553 that I recently acquired. I can't seem to find the old manuals on the marshall site since they updated it. Thanks!
The presets list is different on my code 100 head compare with the Marshall gateway (the first 14 presets) so is the 100 head different compare to Marshall gateway or the other code amps? and i tryed to reset the amp but the presents still different compare to the gateway.
Ive had this amp five days now and I’m totally frustrated!
Here are my issues:
• Bluetooth Connectivity
The amp loses connectivity with the MyMarshall app constantly! I’ve followed the instructions. I’m sitting less then a foot from the amp, yet it loses connectivity from both my iPhone and two different iPads. It literally takes me 15-20 minutes to get the thing connected, reconnected, and then, BOOM! Again, the sound changes settings on the amp mysteriously, this after taking 15-20 minutes to get the sound and effects exactly the way I want it. I can’t save the setting, because it disconnects the app from the amp, even though it says on the amp and my iPad settings, that I’m still connected. Utterly frustrating! It also limits what time I have to practice because I’m spending most of that time trying to get it reconnected and sounding right again.
Also, after following the directions explicitly, I still have to reconnect the Bluetooth from scratch every time. The app sucks.
• Apple OSX /iOS compatibility
Guys, Your the best amp manufacturer in the music world. The music world is OSX/iOS based. Get your brilliant minds together and allow for the amp to be Updated via Apple products!
• The amp and application
This is a great sounding amp, I’m enamored with the sound as I am with most Marshall Amplification products and the price well within reason, but not just the app is HORRIBLE, but also the effects are also less then desirable. I just can’t seem to get chorus, phase, flanger or echo sounds to my tastes and desires. Same with the auto wah. I just can’t believe you can’t duplicate the same great sounding effects as you have in many of your solid state amps.
I’m hoping you can help, if not, this amp is going back in the box and being returned.
I bought a CODE50 2 months ago, and while I really like the sound, it generates cracking/tearing/popping sounds when I apply (even small amounts of) overdrive when I touch a string with my pick/plectrum. I use the JCM800 emulation with low gain and low presence. I have also tried other AMPs such as the JVM. Plexi or Bluesbreaker, but that does not make any difference. It occurs with a BOSS Overdrive OS2 pedal and also with the ODR that is build in, also at low levels.
It happens both with my Fender Stratocaster and my Epiphone Les Paul. I also tried several diffenent plextrums, for example the Dunlop Jazz III, Dunlop Tortex, Fender medium, light and heavy and a few others, but that does not make any difference.
I opened the back of the combo so see if anything touches the speaker that could explain this sound but that was not the case. Normally I like a bit of pick attack sound, but this noise can be so loud that it overshadows the sound of the string, almost like a series of explosions. When I switch the overdrive off, this noise effect is gone.
What could be the reason for this ?
I’m looking into getting a new IPad and I was curious if I can use GarageBand as my software and record direct from the USB port on my Marshall code 25 to record? Or should I spend the money for a new Mac book or Mac laptop will either of those work?
I have a few questions:
1. A DSL40CR or 100H has 5 output jacks 1x16, 1x8, 2x16, 1x4, 2x8.
Which output do you connect a 4x12 or 4x10 cab?
A friend has a 4x10 cab with 4 Fender V1030 30w 8 ohms speakers. I believe it comes from a Fender Hot Rod Deville. But I have researched and couldnt find an extension cab like this for a Hot Rod Deville online. It doent have a Fender logo plate on it or an info sticker on the back. It must be a clone someone built. Nevertheless it was built good. I opened the back and I didnt check how it was wired.
2. Can you run both speakers together, (4x12 or 2x12 cab with the 1x12 V type speaker it comes with?
3. And if so which outputs are the correct ones to connect.
Someone place help me I dont want fry my amp.
Hi, I have seen on the forum that the code can be used as a solid state amp if all the amp /preFX / cab etc are turned off. After trying this on my code 25 I found that the tone knobs ( bass/ treble and mids ) and the gain don't work so all I can do is adjust the volume. After speaking to a code 50 owner he reported that on the 50 even after turning off all amp/ preFX. etc the tone knobs are functional.
Regards.
This seems to be a common problem with the code 50 and even the code 25? When i had my code 50 it would lockup with no sound from the amp when i edited and then tried to save a preset,i would have to shut off and then reboot the amp for it to work again, this happened about 3 out of 5 times when i used the amp?Check out the user reviews on musicians friend for the code 50,three reviews mention the same problem that i had with my code 50.
Marshall should look into this problem and try to fix it with a firmware update or find some other way to fix this problem? If marshall can fix it i would most likely buy this amp again.
Hi
I have a code 25. I just bought a new laptop. it had windows 10 but decided it wanted windows 11 so updated it, now my code 25 is paired but if I connect it. It says connected for a few seconds and then goes back to connect. So I can listen to my online lessons through my headphones. Anyone else experience something similar.
Thanks
How to use the tuner footswitch 91009?
Please videos, explanatory manuals in different languages(PORTUGUESE). Tips, secrets.
Everything that can be used for the good use of the equipment.
I recently got myself a Marshall Valvestate 8100 head, which sounds amazing for a hybrid amplifier. Now there is one problem with the amp, and that is that there is a low buzzing sound when I turn it on. It does not get louder when I turn up the volume or gain, and it doesn't disappear when I switch channels, which means that it can't be the pre amp tube that causes the problem. I don't use a grounded power socket, but my other amp (an Orange Tiny Terror) doesn't hum so I don't think there is a problem power wise. My guess is a bad soldering joint somewhere in the amp, but I have no idea where to start looking. Is there someone who can tell me how to get rid of the buzzing? And how do I identify a bad soldering joint?
Cheers,
Brian
Hello.
I have 2 x Marshall CODE50's and a Marshall CODE25. I also have 1 x Marshall Footswitch (PEDL-91009). I run the 2 x Marshall CODE50's together (signal from guitar simply being split using a stereo delay pedal). Any ideas how I could control both of the CODE50's with 1 footswitch (just to scroll / change presets up / down on both amps at the same time without having to use two seperate footswitches as this is not practical live)???
Regards,
Dale.
I think I might have tossed out my USB cable by accident! I cannot find any place to order a replacement one, not even on Marshall's web site.
Hey Marshall, you ahve my email, why not tell me how much and where to pay so I can get a replacement and update my Amp!!!!

Hi folks. Just found this site today. I see there are not different presets that it appears you can sync to your phone app. I've checked off 15 and they show in the "My Library" section. I've synced my phone numerous times and they aren't showing anywhere that I can see. How can get them to my app then amp? Thanks.
Come posso fare per avere il manuale del marshall code 50 in italiano?
Grazie.
Hi!
Y have a Huawei P8 Lite with Android 6.0... The smartphone work fine and connect with my Code25 using bluetooth, but Google Play say "This app is not compatible with your device"... I´m very very sad... Any solution?
Sorry for my english, i´m from Argentina.
Thank´s
Hi Marshall team,
I successfully connected my code 25 via USB on Windows 8.1
It's recognized by Windows, you can see it as CODE on device manager.
My problem is, when loading Cubase 8 AI (I have the latest updated version) you can't select CODE drivers (or as an audio interface)
Once you are inside Cubase normally if you go to device setup CODE should be there on the list. Since I can't select it as an input source by anyways I can't record anything.
The process was very smooth with Yamaha thr10 or with some other audio interfaces.
Can you please help me how to use my CODE as input device, or as an audio interface. (I also have the latest firmware updated)
Thanks.
I have a DSL100H, and would like to replace the footswitch with one that has LED's so I can tell what setting I am on with my back to the amp. Can I use a standard externally powered 2 button switch with a TRS cable?
I found several presets on MYMARSHALL for Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and some others while browsing on my PC. I added them to "my library" and then opened the MARSHALL GATEWAY app, logged in and hit SYNC NOW. But the 9 presets I selected do not sync with my iphone. What am I doing wrong, or is what I am trying to do not possible? Thanks.
Hi there,
I hope my english will be understandable. :)
I bought the Marshall Major II Bluetooth headphones almost two years ago and they were doing well and I was happy with them. Now there's a problem with the controll knob on the backside. So I mailed the support service and got excellent help from them. I mailed some photos and conformation that I really have bought them. Now they want me to totally destroy them by cutting cables and snapping them in half before they can send new ones. I find this quite an unusual procedure and want to know if this is normal and if anyone had made similar expierienced and if this is trustworthy.
Thanks for your help
