Hi
on my Code25 there is very loud backround noise. When I set some preset (at least some with some gain on it) it starts infernal humming and rattling. If I turn master volume up, it increases and if I put it down, it decreases. It’s extremely annoying and infact makes me not to use amp at all.
is this something it should be or is my amp faulty?
Boss is in version 3 of it's Katana amps:

Fender Mustang GT is in version 2:

Are there any plans to upgrade the Code to 2. 0 to include additional amps and effects?
I've tried every type usb cable i got. Could someone please tell me what type of cable i need. I'd like to hook it up to my computer.
Hello, just wondering if anyone has experience using a Marshall Code amp and then also using the Marshall 4-way switch combined with a looper pedal. If you set up your chain properly(guitar>4-way>looper>amp), can you have each loop have a different effect if you are using this 4-way pedal to change those effects on each loop?
Hi,
I've Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with Marshallow.
Gateway version is 1.4.1.
Marshall Code 25 with newest firmware.
Playback doesn't work, it crashes when I want to select song to play.
Could you help please?
Mike
I have a DSL100H, the 2012-2018 version (not the new R).
I am looking for a footswitch that allows more switching than the provided 2-button that came with the head. I have found the PEDL-91016, but it's specified for the DSL100HR, not the DSL100H.
The two-button footswitch supplied only allows going back and forth between Classic Gain and Ultra Gain. I'd like to be able to switch between Classic Gain Clean, Classic Gain Crunch, Ultra Gain Lead 1, and Ultra Gain Lead 2.
Has anyone tried the PEDL-91016 switch with the non R DSL100H model? Does it work? If not, is there a footswitch that allows switching as I've described above?
Hello.
Just downloaded the latest firmware updates and updated all my CODE amps. (almost a full-time job lemme tell ya!!! LOL!!! Only joking!!!). No problems with the updates at all.
I do, however, have a suggestion Team Marshall:
Can you not change the firmware updates page to reflect the current firmware revision and release date (and, if it's not TOO much trouble, maybe include all previous firmware versions and their changelogs)???
Reason for my suggestion above:
Only reason I knew that there was a new firmware update was because I was browsing presets and happened to notice that a new section had been created detailing presets contained in the newest firmware version.
In other words: it'd be nice to know as and when new firmware updates become available so that we all know to download and install the latest firmware updates.
As for the sidenote mentioned in the title of this message:
Be aware that although the new firmware includes some new presets and the website indicates that it does not overwrite existing presets: this is only true if you do NOT reset your CODE amp. to factory defaults after the latest firmware update. In other words: if you download and install the latest version of the firmware and then reset your CODE amp to factory defaults then the NEW presets take effect and the old, original, factory default presets are overwritten. Not really a big issue but you need to be aware anyway.
Regards,
Dale.
Hi, im jst new on using Marshall equipments and having confused regarding on how to hook up these things. Can you please give me possible ideas on how to connect my DSL 100H to 2 sets of 1922 cabinet speakers? Impedances are confusing.
List of factory presets for CODE 100H head. From 2019, the presets are different than combo models. Rig info: the CODE 100H head and 4X12 cabinet.
I recently got a Marshall CODE 100 and I also recently got a Scarlett 2i2 recording interface. Before my CODE 100, I have been recording my guitar by going straight into the interface and using Pro Tools First. That worked fine. I even have been able to use pedals with my guitar and put that right into the interface. However, I want to be able to tweak my tone via the CODE 100 and still use my Scarlett and Pro Tools First. How do I do this? I do not see a line out on the CODE 100 head (I have a head and a Marshall 2x12 cab).
I am scared to really try because I am seeing mixed comments online. Some are saying it's very dangerous to go straight from the head to the computer via USB WITHOUT having it plugged into the cab because it could blow up the head? Some are telling me the only way to do it is it order a 1/8" to 1/4" cable and monoline it out and straight into the Scarlett interface from the headphone jack?
I cannot find a clear answer to these questions. Please, someone, help me.
I bought this DSL40CR 3 weeks ago. When the effects loop is turned on there is a volume drop and treble drop. The high end virtually disappears. Even turning up the treble or resonance doesn't quite fix it either.
It sounds virtually identical if I switch from 40 watt mode to 20 watt mode, without the effects loop engaged.
In 20 watt mode with the effect loop engaged the volume/treble drop is even worse. This happens when effects loop is engaged through the 6 button footswitch and on the panel.
Is this a normal function of the amp?
hi
firstly, i am disappointed with the code. this amp seems like its still at test phase, its to buggy for a release. would expect marshall to only release a new product unless its 100% reliable.
connecting ios devices to code is always problematic. very unstable.
my main problem now is updating firmware. cant update in chrome. i have midi capability approved for marshall but keep getting midid disabled error even though i clearly have midi enabled.
tried opera, and the midi is working and the code is coming up as connected. i get as far as a message stating that firmware is updating with a status bar and percentage marker. doesnt update! stays at 0% and never moves. left it overnight and still 0% when i woke.
i have spent more time messing about with the problems with this amp than playing guitar. do i need to sell this and just buy a guitar interface? maybe
also, when using this amp through garageband there is no dedicated clean preset to use with garageband or other AU. basically it goes into garageband with a marshall preset and then the other AU preset is on top of the marshall preset. ideally this amp should include a straight clean unprocessed preset to work with other software AU's. i really do think people need to consider a good quality guitar interface before purchasing this amp. its very restricitve and unreliable. if you are not gigginG i dont see the point in this amp.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THE FIRMWARE ISSUE ASAP!
I have an issue when I try and use a looper, the amp will not play both. If it plays the rhythm that I looped, the leads are muted. If the lead comes out the rhythm is muffled. Anyone else notice this?
I have a Code 25 and a windows 10 computer and I have tried everything and I can not get the amp to connect to my computer via USB. Does anyone know why? If anyone knows why please help!!!
I've been playing with my CODE 100 2x12" for about two months now and I've noticed no matter what I do to my amp settings(lower the treble, lower the presence/resonance, lower the tone setting of various fx, etc.) I still hear this metallic high end that can really be shrill at times. Is this an issue across all of the CODE amps or is there something I'm missing here with my settings and the combinations? My firmware is up to date as well.
EDIT: I have now sat down and experimented with the amp again. I cannot get a tone without any super high treble. It's now bugging me to the point of wanting my money back. I have tried every possible combination of pre amp/power amp/cab, I have turned off each individually and still had the issue. I turned the treble all of the way down and turned the presence all of the way down and the tone is still shrill. I either have a faulty amp or this amp, in general, sounds like garbage. It sounded great at first but I didn't realize how bad it was because the noise only happens when you get about 8 feet away which is annoying because my audience hears all of this high end and no articulation. Please, if anyone has any information on this, let me know. My guitar has an extremely balanced tone(it plays fine through my two practice amps), the cables are all new, the firmware for the amp is up to date, and there is no electrical interference. Any idea as to what I should do, Marshall? I've been using your products for years and I love them but this has been disappointing .
Hi. I have two Marshall Acton speakers in my home, which I very much like. The problem is that they both have the same name when searching for them to cnnect via bluetooth on my phone, which can cause confusion, especially if I'm in range of both of them. How can I change the naming convention that one of my Acton speakers uses so I can differentiate between them?
Hi,
I want to change the speaker of my Marshall DSL 40C, but the new speaker is of 8 ohms. In this case I will use just one 8 ohms output? The 16 ohms output and the other 8 ohms output will be unplugged?
And about the power (RMS) of the new speaker? The manual of the DSL 40C said that the power is 40w, but the original speaker celestion seventy 80 have 80w... The new speaker can have 80w, 100w, 120w?
I was recently gifted a Marshall Code 25 amp and i go to power it on (mind you i followed all of the intructions listed in the manual) and got no results. I tried a few different outlets thinking maybe my wall outlet was the problem but still got no power.
Bought a CODE 50 two weeks ago and LOVE the tones - great reproductions! But I have the hissing problem as well. Quite noticeable as a chord or note decays. At first, thought it was normal 60-cycle single coil pickup hum, but it is not.
Read similar Posts on the Forum, so tried the firmware update and it did not help. Noise gate not really an effective alternative, either.
Team Marshall, any other solutions in the work Again, otherwise I love the amp and want to keep it.
Thanks.
