I have just received my first ever Head Amp. So very excited about it. My question, is it totally unadvisable, to test out the headphone socket without connecting up a cabinet to the head amp?

I was hoping to test before  obtaining a cabinet  (212 I had in mind).

However it does not advise using it without a cabinet connected. Is there a risk in blowing up the circuitry otherwise?

Thanks for taking the time reading this.

Hi, can anyone explains to me WHY we can't use a CODE 100H without the cabinet? For VALVE amps there is a good reason for which you need the cabinet always connected but for solid state amps it seems very strange.

Is it maybe an error in the manual? Maybe it's a phrase that has been written for all the Marshall valve heads and it was mistakenly added to the CODE as well?

Please let me know, I have an application where I only need the 100H coming up soon.

Thanks!

Hi,

I recently buy a Code 100 head and 4x12 cabinet and I loving it!

But I do have one concern the hum, there is a humming noise coming from the speakers when not played or not plugged in?

When I put the power one the humming is there and when played humming isn´t noticeable.

List of factory presets for CODE 100H head. From 2019, the presets are different than combo models. Rig info: the CODE 100H head and 4X12 cabinet.

My question is concerning the Code 100H. When using an external cabinet, is it better to use the preset power/cab selections or to turn them off. Does this apply to the Marshall code cabinet and any other cabinet, or just to a different cabinet ie: 2x12 Morgan ? Thanks.

I was wondering if the creator of the KASHMIR preset would be interested in also creating the FLANGER part for KASHMIR using all the current preset settings (amp, cabinet, speaker etc) as a complimentary preset for the turnaround section of the song.  I believe, from forums, that a preset will switch better (Marshall CODE footswitch) if the preset has the same amp, speaker and or cabinet setting as it takes away the millisecond delay of switching between amps in a particular preset.  Look forward to your answer and or creation of said beasty.

Hey guys

I bought a Marshall Code 100H about a month ago. (The cabinet also)

Now what i ask myselfe is. I have a strange cracking sound when I play with the Bridge Pickup. This only happens when I play a distortioned sound. All the clean sounds are perfect. Bus as soon I activate a distortion pedal, or put the gain up, there is this strange cracking. It's like an oversteering of distortion.

I tried with different cables, resetting the amp, with headphones, other guitars and another loudspeaker, but it's always the same.

Since I live in switzerland and I had to buy the amp in germany, it's kind of difficult to go to the dealer, because he's four hours driving away from my home.

Or do I have too high expectations on this amp, and this is totaly normal?

I recorded a sample of it, but I don't know where to upload.

Many thanks for your help.

Rock On!!!

I have a code 100H. When using the headphones, the effects loop does not come through. If I connect an external cabinet it works fine. Why doesn't the FX come through in headphone mode? Thank you.

I have a Marshall Code 50. Not sure what’s happened but when I plug my guitar into it, I get no sound and the presets are now being controlled by the guitar volume knob. If guitar volume is full high, display on the Code quickly scrolls thru presets. If guitar volume is full low, you can individually scroll thru presets by quickly turning volume knob up then quickly back down. No volume from cabinet regardless of preset volume or master volume, only static. Have tried with both electrics I have and both cables, in various configurations with no difference.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Kevin.

Hello.  I have a Marshall Code 100 Head, 4 12 cabinet and the 2 12 combo amp.  Absulutely love these amps.  I also have the 3 way footswitch.  What I can't figure out, is how to be able to turn off and on the REVERB from the foot pedal.  Is there a way for this?  It defaults to allow you to access the Distortion, Modulation and Delay but what about the reverb?  Any ideas?

Thanks, Larry

I recide to open my code 50 cabinet. It was not just a simple sound change matter. For me this cabinet is the low point in the project. With this upgrade I believe now th speaker moves freely. Of coarse you have all those open cabinets advantage, more crystallinity, less punch low freequencies, more spacial sound distribution (less directionality)... For me the stage effect was quite positive. Some time ago I was really deciding to kick it out but now I am very satisfied with this little amp.

Is the CODE™412 4x12-inch Angled Electric Guitar Speaker Extension Cabinet discontinued? If so, then why? I did purchased one 2 years ago.

My online dealer no longer has it listed; instead, they have listed, the CODE™212 2x12-inch Angled Electric Guitar Speaker Extension Cabinet ― which I do plan on buying ― however, I still would like to purchase another CODE™412.

Hi!

I have a Marshall CODE 100 (not 100H) and I noticed that there is a "Loudspeaker 8OHM" (input or output ???) on the back side.

I would like to know whether the "Loudspeaker 8OHM" is a kind of input so I can use the CODE only as a cabinet using other device like heads, power amps and etc. connected there, while I don't use the main input for the guitar ? Or the "Loudspeaker 8OHM" is an output to use with others cabinets in parallel?

Thanks

André

Still waiting for my answer about which casters or wheels, I can't believe you didn't know that the 2x12 extension cabinet that is made for your CODE 100H that I bought from you, comes with heavy black plastic fittings with threads, four on the bottom. I would think that they are pretty common..........I appreciate your time, honestly.......thanks...D.Wells

Can the speakers be upgraded on the Code 412 cabinet?  If so, is it something a person can do who’s never changed a speaker before, or would it need professional installation?

Hi,

I use de Plexi/Classic 100W for an Angus Young tone. When I crank up the volume above 1/3 I got a lot of feedback noise. It is like the sound of a mic that picks up its own sound from a speaker. Whatever I try do to, it won't go away.

I bought this amp with the CODE 412 Cabinet for stage performances, but it is unusable this way. Can you please help me to solve thsis problem?

Kind regards,

Paul
