I have 3 combo amps each with a single 16 ohm speaker. baffles the heck out of me why Marshall would recommend a 2x12 8 ohm ext cabinet. I want to run both the internal speaker and the ext cabinet at the same time. I would like to put 8 ohm speakers in the combos to match the ext cabs. I have a JCM 2000 DSL 401, a DSL 40cr And an Origin 1x10 20 Watt. Can a16ohm speaker be upgraded with an 8 ohm speaker in these combos and if so what speakers would you recommend. Any additional suggestions or information is most welcome.
Can you please show me which jack i should use to plug my head into the cabinet. I have a new 2 weeks old, Marshall DSL 20 HR Head with the MX212RR Marshall cab. On the back of the head it has 3 jacks for to plug into the cabinet and i dont know which is the best. It has lines pointing to the OHM's but the lines dont line up with the different ohms and its hard to tell which one to use. Anyway of sending me a picture or explaining which jack i should use please. Ive looked every where, youtube, online googled and cant find any info on which jack to use from thr back of the head to plug into the speaker cabinet. Thank you
If I change to an 8 ohm V-series speaker in my DSL40CR, do you foresee any problems using it with an 8 ohm MX212AR cabinet , if I plug into the two 8 ohm speaker outputs ? .......................thanks............RD
I have read, when using the direct out there is no need to have a cabinet connected to the head.
My question is: is this in general or only when the direct out is engaged?
I would like to slave another amp from the effects send, without using a cabinet connect to the origin 50 head.
I wonder if the dummy loads is always on
Hello everyone, I own the Marshall CODE 100H and CODE 212 cabinet.I really love this amp, but I find the MY GATEWAY web page interface to be somewhat awkward to use. The following are issues that I would like to see changed.
1) On the My GATEWAY web page, the preset list at the top is arranged by columns (as it should be), but the MY LIBRARY list below that is arranged by rows.
?
2) There is no indication in the MY LIBRARY section on the MY GATEWAY tab whether a preset is or isn’t in the MY GATEWAY list.
Greetings,
What is the measurement AT THE TOP of the MX212AR vertical cabinet FROM FRONT TO BACK ?
Thank You................RD
Hello everyone from Portugal,
I have an Origin 20c Amplifier that I purchased new last year. It must have been old stock because it appears the manufacture date was 2018. I believe this unit has the faulty Jack wiring since the labels for the external speakers do not match the owners manual (2 8ohm jacks, without the line indicating 16ohm for both). My question is, will this unit work with a single Origin 212 cabinet, assuming I unplug the internal speaker, or do I need to get it repaired. If it will work, which of the speaker jack should I use, the one in the middle or the one furthest from the 16 ohm Jack
Hi! I have a question about CODE 100H. I need to play directly in mixer but it hasn't a DI exit, can I use it without a cabinet? If I can, how can I do it? If I don't use cabinet, will CODE be damaged? Thanks for your help.
I have a Marshall Origin 50H, its about 7 months old and I've used it perhaps maybe 10 times total for some pretty low volume playing and never used on anything but the lowest 5w setting. I'm using it with a proper 16 ohm Celestion cabinet and proper cables and playing for about 40yrs so know what I'm doing, well, most days that is lol! :)
Anywho, after about 10 minutes the volume drops WAY off and I'm assuming its a power tube since the level of gain doesn't change at all, just the volume and it gets real compressed.
Since I've only had the amp 7 months, would the tubes be covered under warranty in any way? I would hope so due to how little I've used it, thanks for any insight.
WARNING: When using the DSL1HR head
for ‘silent’ practice or DI recording ALWAYS
disconnect the speaker cabinet from the
amplifier’s rear panel before switching on.
NEVER unplug the speaker cable from the
speaker cabinet while it is still connected
to the amplifier rear panel. This may stress
the amplifier’s power-stage and in extreme
cases may lead to valve and/or transformer
failure.
Can i use an emulated out with the cab speaker plugged in?
Is it possible to combine Code 100w with MG412AG extension cabinet and have all 6 speakers work?
Hello,
I have an old Valvestate VS100R (Combo). I am looking to add an ext. cabinet to it 4x12'' (or 2x12'' at least).
Want can be the best model ?
Do I can connect the amp speaker (1x12'') and a cabinet ?
Thanks
Can I use headphones plugged into the DI port in lieu of a cabinet? Thanks
Does Marshall sell amp amd cabinet covers for their current products?
Hello,
can I use my JTM60 speaker with a Marshall Origin 20H Head?
Also, my JTM60 has suffered some damage when my nephew tried to power on the amplifier, she cranked everything up but didn't succed, when I got home I didn't noticed it was all cranked up and powered it, it blew tubes and some more, I had it repaired but it didn't get back to the same sound as before... I'd like to have it checked by qualified personnel, can you indicate someone in Italy, please?
Thanks a lot,
Marco
every company who sells digital amp made some upgrade with more amp or efx or cabinet or upgrade a better firmware with better tones. you do nothing! I've asked you - almost one year ago -, by mail, if marshall was programming an upgrade and in your mail you answered yes..I think was untrue, it's the worst support I've ever seen in digital amplification.
Can I use an extension cabinet such as the MG412 being there is an extension cabinet output on my Code 100C combo amp?
Hi,
Have a few questions about attenuator usage with SC20H amp.
1. Do I need two attenuators? My cabinet has two speakers (8 Ohm each), and SC20H has two separate outputs for each speaker, so does it mean I have to buy two attenuators, one for each speaker? I didn't manage to find SC20H schematics, so I'm not sure if those two amp outputs are connected in parallel internally, and I can just use one attenuator.
2. Do I need attenuator(s) at all? I want to run the amp with overdriven tubes, thus I have to set max level, right? Consultant at my local store told me it's enough to reduce "Master" volume, and EL34 will still be overdriven, if I set "Pre-amp" volume to max. But folks at Marshall forum say that it's still better to use attenuator, even in 5W mode. Again, I don't have SC20H schematic, so it's hard to tell who is right.
3. What if my cabinet only have one 4 Ohm input (2 x 8 Ohm speakers inside)? Is it enough to connect it to the amp with only one cable? Or I have to rework my cabinet to have two different inputs (separate input for each speaker)?
Thanks!
Hi, I just want to make sure I've got this straight. I want to run my amp through my external attenuator(weber mini mass) and then into an 8 ohm external cabinet.
1a) Amp (8 ohm out)->attenuator(set for 8 0hms)->to external cabinet(1x12 with 8 ohm speaker) Is this correct?
1b) In the above scenario, if I want to run through the 8 ohm cab alone do I have to disconnect the onboard 16 ohm speaker?
2) If the external attenuator is not connected, can I run the amp through the 16 ohm combo speaker and the 8 ohm ext cab at the same time? Or is it either/or?
Thanks
