Hi! Just bought the CODE 25 amp and I've put the firmware up to date, everything seems to be ok but when I unplug the USB, the LCD reads "CHK USB". I turn it off then on, try to unplug and replug and still read CHK USB and the amp doesn't work.

Thanks for your answers

I'm using the USB connection from a PC to the Code 25, and found that the ouput sound on the headphones is only mono-left mixed.  I get sound in both speakers on my headset, but when I test left/right channels, it's obvious that the sound is only coming from left channel.

This isn't an issue when I'm playing music through the Bluetooth connection, and both left/right channels come through ok.

Is there a firmware fix so that when sound is channeled through USB to the headphone 3.5mm jack, it'd be stereo instead of mono-mixed?

Just bought the 50.  I have done the hold the 3 buttons down while turning it on to see the current version.  I then connect the USB and it says USB connected Ready to update.  But when I try to update from both the browser and the utility, it says "please connect your code".  I have made the config changes on the troubleshooting site, and used 2 different laptops and 3 different cables but none of them will push the updates.  It won't show the Code as being connected for some reason.

Anyone have an idea of where I am going wrong?  I don't have any Chrome updates to do, and I am stumped.  I don't want to have to return this if there is an easy fix.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Team,

I just bought the Marshall Code25 and tried to update the Firmware via USB.

I have launched the firmware update from the Chrome Navigator and from Windows firmware application. After update performed, Code25 remains to version 1.11 and firmware indicates my CODE firmware is up to date.

I have notice during the update than first, the version 1.41 is installed (MCU firmware 1.41) and just after a second update is launched installing the version 1.11 (DSP firmware 1.11)

Is it the regular behavior ?

After the update I still have troubles on bluethooth pairing, even if I read this problem should be solved by the update.

Thanks for your help

Regards

Promises, promises ... "we'll fix it soon";  " bluetooth issues will be addressed in future firmware updates";  " USB recording issues will be looked into"; AND, a 2-way footswitch will be available for Code 25/50 users when Code 100 is released.  Am I alone in my disappointment for Marshall's seemingly apathetic (non) responses to purchasers of their "not ready for prime time" digital products?!?!?!   I really wanted a Marshall Amp after 45 years as a Fender user.  My mistake.  I should have known better.  Useless, unsupported, glitched, buggy, unreliable, etc., etc., etc.    What say you Marshall in an attempt to save any reputation you thought you had?!?!?!?

Hello, yeah just checking in to see if firmware updates are working for some cause I have had no luck at all with Win 10, or in Chrome. Downloaded update firmware and it just keeps sayin connect your amp with usb and I do? But nothing happens. I have the 25 and the 50 since they came out and it is April 2nd 2017... Just curious what is up and am I missing anything with these firmware updates?

Alrighty Thanks Tony K.

I was using the usb connection to record on Audacity.  The guitar I was using was a Fender Strat with noiseless pups.  I found that the signal stregth was really low and the only way I could get a decent recorded signal was to turn up the master volume to an unbearable level and was close to getting a stern talking to from my better half.  I then tried the same process but used some headphones and this sorted the level issue so it recorded a strong signal.  There was still a bit of crackle on the recording but much improved from the last firmware release.

I then recorded some acoustic guitar without headphones.  This was a martin DRs1 with a stock fishman pup.  Signal strength was really good and the quality was great.  No hum or hiss or crackle.

Great to hear others experiences.

Tried to update my firmware and tried three cables. None are even recognizing the amp on multiple computers. Tried to reset the settings on the amp and nothing helped. It seems as if the USB port is not working at all.

I can download and run the firmware updater on my Win 10 laptop - it then asks me to connect my CODE 25 amp. I connect the amp using a USB cable - then I see the message "An error occurred: An error occurred getting the device information from your CODE. Please try switching your amp off, and then switching it back on again."

I switch it off and on - no good. Same problem. I connect the CODE amp before running the firmware utility - same result. So I don't even know what firmware is currently in there. Is this solvable? BTW - the USB cable works, as my Marshall CODE Live Editor has connected to the amp using it.

Thx

The inability to record using USB makes this product close to a sham. A base feature which is broken really insults your users and is killing sales. Get this fixed now, please, before your costs include my solicitor.

I'm using Windows 10, and the Amp says "USB" when plugged into PC.  I installed the window app, but all it says is "please connect your Code..,".    I checked device manager and it says " Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed).   I tried uninstall, reboot, reload, etc., and different USB ports ,but nothing works.

I am experiencing terrible interference when trying to use my Code 50  via Bluetooth / Gateway (Apple) App while recording on my Mac in Logic Pro X.  I am using a microphone to record the Code 50 and using the Bluetooth to change patches.  The clicks/pops/noise/interference is loud enough to interfere with the recording process.  Perhaps a DESKTOP (Apple) Gateway App via Code USB might be a solution for all users experiencing similar issues?   I am running the most current Firmware.  Any current solution to my noise issues?  Thank you.

I've downloaded the firmware updater onto my Windows 7 (most recent updates loaded) PC and it seems that there is no eligant way to close the updater after use. I had to use ProcMgr to force the updater to shutdown.

I also found that unless you do things in the correct way - fire up the updater tool before plugging in the USB, it seemed to get very confused - again I had to use procmgr to close it down.

I'm experiencing unwanted noise when connecting my Code25 via USB to my iMac.  I've tried several different USB cables and I'm using GarageBand, making sure to turn off all plugins and no other applications are running. I've seen mention of the same issue on other forums. I've created an audio file with a sample of the unwanted noise. https://soundcloud.com/victor-futura/marshall-code25-usb-noise

Is this a known issue, if so, can it be corrected in a future firmware update?
