Hello folks, I have just bought the Marshall Code 100 which I was really excited about having read the description and watched the demo videos. The amp does sound amazing, but yesterday, on the first occasion that I actually tried the amp during a rehearsal, I was shocked to discover that when I step on the provided footswitch to change presets (like activating one with distortion or heavy delay), mid-song, the flow of the sound broke, there was a moment of silence before it switched to the next preset. I've been trying to research this on the Internet, but have only found 2 instances of it being addressed, no one talks about this in review videos or blogs. This baffles me - how is (mostly) everyone ok with this?
This effectively makes it impossible to use the built-in effects of the amp, which is exactly what its main outstanding feature is. Why have 100 presets when you can't switch mid-song? Are guitarists only supposed to use the Code family to select the main sound they want for a certain song, then keep using pedals for changes mid-song? ?
I'm extremely disappointed since the built-in effects were the main reason I went for this amp - I wanted to use this as both an amp and a multi-effect board to some extent. Is there any fix for this? A firmware update may be, or does the separately-sold Code pedal make a difference?
Seriously considering returning it at this point. Advance thanks for the replies.
I have a two part question 🤔. I have my two amplifiers listed above. I have both electric and electric acoustic guitars. I'm learning how to play and bought the 50 watt acoustic Amp as I really like the sound of over wound humbuckers through it for heavy slow blues.
First question, keeping the AS50D as the main sound, can I connect it through/to the 100 watt Marshall? Both are 4 ohms and I would like the maximum amount of power to drive my 4 x 12" cabinet of 8 ohm Jensen Tornadoes that are wired in series for the 4 ohm 100 watt MG HDFX. Then I would have 150 watts total to drive my 400 watt total limit.
Question two, can I connect my 50 watt AS50D Amp to my 4 x 12" speaker cabinet by running a cable from the back of my Amp to the cabinet. I have footswitch, line out and (effects loops) send and return Jack's to use.
Even though my 4 x 12" cabinet would be very under powered. I would like to hear the sound of the AS50D through those speakers. I'm new to guitar and don't want to ruin any of my equipment. I did also have a guitar made through two luthiers, I also made the 4 x 12" cabinet to match my guitar. I call them Snort and the box.
I have the components for the sound I'm looking for, now I need to combine them all together. I truly appreciate guidance from the technical support team at Marshall.
God bless you for your time and kindness. Thank you, Eric Dailey

Hello,
I am the proud owner of a Marshall DSL100HR which I think is really great.
I also bought the Footswitch PEDL-91016, to be able to use all the versatility of the amp.
Unfortunately when I use the PEDL-91016 after a while (it varies). Impossible to use the effects loop, the sound changes it looks like a tube is dead, the different channels with the PEDL-91016 are no longer available (it varies).
When I remove the PEDL-91016 I no longer have any problem. When I use the footswitch supplied with the amp, I have no problem and obviously without any footswitch no problem either.
Do you think it's from PEDL-91016, it's still under warranty.
Thanks in advance.
The reverb doesn't switch on and off... Is the footswitch specific to the amp? I purchased a 91004 as the amp didn't come with one when I purchased it. The gain button works...
Thanks,
Johnny
PS. I saw this picture in a CL ad, which got me wondering
Hi! On Marshall's official website, the description says that the PEDL-91010 pedal has indicator lights. Mine doesn't. I saw that in others they don't have it either. What happens?
My DSL40cr seems to have developed a crackle while playing, it's fairly new. I've tried to isolate it by playing with or witout pedals / footswitch, all channels, different guitars. Any suggestions? I have a video of it but cant upload here
Thanks
Mike
Hello Guys
I just got a PEDL 91009 foot controller for my Code25. Impressed with how well it works and how useful it is (considering it connects with a normal guitar cable).
However the documentation for the 91009 is pretty poor and consists of a single sided page in the manual. I have found a few things that I can't find documented and I wonder if anyone else has found anything too.
Firstly, In the manual is says that in switch mode you can assign which blocks can be switched on and of with the three foot switches. This is great but what isn't clear in the manual is that this is universal and not per patch. i.e. if you assign button 3 to switch on the tuner then on every patch button 3 will swich on the tuner. It's the same with the tap tempo. So this means if you want the tuner available and tap tempo, then you can only switch on and off 1 effects module. Not the end of the world, but not clear in the manual. It's a shame there wasn't 2 buttons specifically for these functions.
Secondly. I had to look through this forum to find out how to reset the settings stored in the 91009, maybe it is documented somewhere in the manual. but I couldnt find it.
Thirdly. I discovered that if you are in switch mode (to switch on and off effects blocks in a patch). If you press and hold button 1 to 3 the 91009 changes to the patch stored in that bank position, but remains in switch mode. This means you don't have to come out of switch mode, change to the new patch in that bank and then go back into switch mode. May be useful for some people, but I couldnt find this in any manuals either.
Overall an impressive foot controller (for what it is). Has anyone else found out anying more it can do?
hey there everyone,
im kinda new to the looping scene and bought a boss rc 5 looping station for my code 25 but when i plug them in i wont get any sound..
is there something i am doing wrong or is it just not possible to add a loop pedal to the code 25?
btw i dont have any other pedals or the marshall footswitch
hoping someone can help me out!
My pedal one day works fine, other day don't work at all!? I don't see any hardware damage. Please help me. I don't know what to do! :(
Hello, New amp I procured and I am hoping to get some Q's answered regarding.
It did not come with a footswitch and being new to all of this I do not know why I need one or which footswitch to get ????
Also, I was told by the original owner that it is quite than it used to be and may need a new tube. Also do not know which way to go with this ...
Last point is when switching over from clean to overdrive it is buzzing and I am not sure why...
After hours on youtube and reading the instruction manual I am even more confused.
Thanks in advance for comments/advice.

Hello, I'm currently using fender lt50 with fender MGT4 footswitch. If I buy Marshall Code 50 will this footswitch work? Just for changing to channels from clean to distortion.. I found a solution in a Reddit video. And I download that video to my computer by using Reddit video downloader.
I have a Nov 2017 dsl 40 cr with pedl-90012 Footswitch. The effect loop is intermittently not foot switchable on the clean channel. I use a clean boost for solos through the loop. Works on dirty channel, not on clean channel. Footswitch effects loop led lights up,, but not on amp. Both green channel leds. I have the individual master volumes leds set for clean channel green, dirty channel red. And I have to push the loop button in and out most of the time to activate it.
Is there away to turn off tuner mode? I do not use it and sometimes I go into it by accident.
I have the optional programmable pedl-91009 footswitch and I want to program it so that when I press a button, a phaser effect turns on. How do I do this? Thanks
I am not able to use the product in a minimally satisfactory way due to the following problems and difficulties:
- It is not possible to change the order of patches saved in either the hardware or the mobile application. There is no way to back up the saved patch set;
- The foot controller only controls the patches of blocks 1, 2 and 3. I explain: the FS only handles A1, A2, A3, up to J1, J2 and J3, which totals only 30 patches out of the 100 available. It is not possible to handle patches numbers 4 to 10, 14 to 20, 24 to 30, 34 to 40, etc.
- The unit is crashing during patch editing directly on the hardware (I have videos with the evidence).
Marshall Team, we need your support to resolve this, please! Thanks!
Marshall,
Recently purchased a used G80R CD that didn't come with the footswitch pedal. Looking to be able to switch channels and turn off/on the reverb. Is there a specific pedal for this model amp, or is there a universal pedal (Marshall) that will work? Can you provide an item #?
Thanks,
Eric Z.
Hi,
I was wondering if i can use a A/B footswitch to switch between 2 seperate cabs while the amp is on, as the amp has a internal load?
Thanks Mark
I have Marshall CODE50 and PEDL-91010 (2-way switch). I have the latest 1.44 firmware update installed, but my pedal does not work properly. For some reason when I press the switch to go down a preset it goes up a preset or just does nothing. Sometimes it works, but that does not happen very often. I've opened the footswitch and the circuit seems too simple to be faulty and by the way my amp acts when I press the down switch it looks like it is the problem with the firmware.
I bought this DSL40CR 3 weeks ago. When the effects loop is turned on there is a volume drop and treble drop. The high end virtually disappears. Even turning up the treble or resonance doesn't quite fix it either.
It sounds virtually identical if I switch from 40 watt mode to 20 watt mode, without the effects loop engaged.
In 20 watt mode with the effect loop engaged the volume/treble drop is even worse. This happens when effects loop is engaged through the 6 button footswitch and on the panel.
Is this a normal function of the amp?
