I have a new DSL20CR. When I use emulated out, the signal is only present when the amp is on standby. When I switch the amp to low or high mode, there is no longer any signal on the emulated out. Is that correct?

I got my DSL 20 CR in May 2020 so 6 months ago and recently have noticed that the light underneath the power switch is flickering.

It is now significantly dimmer and a bit annoying not really what you would expect with the quality of a marshall.

Not sure if this is covered by the warranty or if I need to fix it myself.

Hello, a question about a my marshall dsl 40 cr:

I have noise problems on the od channel (hiss), even when nothing is plugged in,

i've read on a forum this can be  Resistors 141 and 148 that cause the problem

is this problem known and is it worth trying to replace these resistors?

Guitar and lead both work fine however my Marshall DSL40 (purchased Dec 2018) has stopped working, all lights work however there is no sound. High power output also makes strange popping/crackling noises when idle, also as of 2 weeks ago the amp would randomly but rarely make a clicking noise when in standby, this stopped a week later but  I had previously never ever heard this noise before. The standby also emits a quiet hum.

I'm attempting to discover a channel exchanging pedal for my DSL 100h. The Marshall site says it utilizes the PEDL-90012 which is out of creation. Can I simply utilize something like the MRPEDL91003 or do I have to get the first footswitch? tellthebell

I have a DSL 100h that has been fading in and out and crackling for quite some time. It seems to only happen on the clean channel and makes no difference, if I have my pedal board plugged in or not. I have the fx loop turned off, so I believe that that part of the circuit is out of the equation. I just swapped out the tubes because I suspected the pre amp tubes were bad from some other things I read and still no luck. Has anyone else experienced this?

I just purchased a new DSL 40CR from an online auction site. The amp sounds great, but it is generating a very distinct crackling sound, primariy when I play E, F, or G chord on the low E string. There is a slight crackling sound on an A chord, but not as bad. This happens on both channels. I have change out cords and tried with mutltiple guitars, same results. Any idea what the problem might be?

People here have talked about a "mushy" sound on these amps. It happened to me, at some point, with my DSL 20 head. Fortunately, I also have a DSL20 combo. So I hooked up the combo to the pedalboard and the cab. Unplugged the amp's speaker, and the difference was night and day. I also had a DSL100H, I kept for a friend, same problem. I told him it needed serviced, he didn't listen. I just got done playing one, that was working correctly, at a Guitar Center. It was aggressive, and brutal, the way it should be! Consistent and tight.

What I found on a forum, and what I suspected, was a small capacitor, in the preamp had failed, in C21,C22, position, if I remember correctly. Sorry, but these are made in Vietnam...And that's what you get...Instead of sending my tech guy on a fishing expedition, I'll dump it off somewhere...Maybe, I will get the old JMP I always wanted... DON'T EXPECT THESE AMPS TO LAST,  BECAUSE THEY WON'T! 

Hello :) Is it normal with the brown "blurbs" Gel looking things around the black things on the green print plate.? Marshal DSL 100H.

I just got this amp yesterday and have only played for about 15 minutes or so.  When I play on channel 2 in the high overdrive channel I get what sounds like vibrations and slight buzzing when I play notes on the GBE strings higher up the fret board.  I'm playing at low volume on the 20 watt setting.  Nothing is maxed out and it only happens on the higher overdrive channel.  Is this normal does the amp need to be broken in any guidance would be appreciated!

I recently we are talking the last 4 days purchesed my dream amp a marshall DSL100HR. I was very excited to finally be able to get my hands on a marshall super lead series amp. I let it acclimate to my house temp befor even taking it out of the shipping packiging then when i did i was baby gental in doing so i set it up correctly and double checked so befor even powering up the amp. When i did power on the amp i let the tubes warm up like i read to do so i did this for 15m when i switched the amp to power low mode on i think that its 50watt in that mode. I heard a loud pop pop pop buzz and everything died the amp became unresponsive and the only thing that seemed to be working was that the tubes were lighting up properly and i could run the amp in standby thats it. the front panel was dead the foot switch was dead but the amp could still power on does anybody know what the hell happand ?

what did i do wrong did i just get a lemon ?

is this common with this amp range ? 

I am not rich it took a lot of financial planning to be able to afford this amp i am so bummed out. I did speak to the place i bought it from and there sending me a return label and when they get it they will ship a new DSL to me but this whole situation sucks. (update) I got the return label sent the amp head back there processing a new DSL100HR order for me i wont get it till tuesday/wensday hope the one they send me works ! If the new DSL100HR also has issues i will most likely swear off tube amps forever not at all pleased with my initial experience at all.

(update 2) I have the new DSL100HR and this one works so i guess i got a lemon befor all is well now enjoy your lives people stay metal ! stay rock and roll ! most important stay safe out there !

Yesterday the power light on my DSL 40 went off, then came back on, then off again. It's been doing the same today.

Apart from this, the amp is running fine with great sound and all the other lights still working.

Is it just a bulb issue? And if so, how do I go about fixing this?

I have a DSL40CR - great amp- but sometimes the reverb is gone all of a sudden. When I swith off the amp and turn it on, the reverb is again audible. I use the 6-way footcontroller for switching channels. Any ideas? The amp hasn´t  any others issues.

I'm trying to set up the ES8 to use the effects loop on the amp as described on page 15 of the ES8 manual: 

Send Vol on ES8 to Amp Input on DSL5

RtnVol on ES8 to Amp Send on DSL5

Out 1/L on ES8 to Amp Return on DSL5

The problem I'm running into is that this setup seems to completely skip the volume controls on the amp. 

Is there a setting on either that I might be missing?

Im about to purchase a secondhand AFD100 that does not include the footswitch. I want to make one but im unsure of the layout. Will I be able to use a DSL footswitch and add LEDs. Could anyone provide me a photo of the wiring or any diagram as I cannot purchase one new.

My DSL 20 HR is completely silent when effect loop is in standard active setting. 
No sound goes through. Only a very very silent cracking. 
when I switch the effect look off to bypass via the foot switch, the amp will give out the regular sound, of course without any pedals that are in the loop

i ruled out broken chords. It is the same without anything in the effect loop at all. 

any suggestions?

I've had my dsl 401 for about 12 years. In the United States. From the beginning, it would lose power, go silent, but then come back. Now, it has gone completely silent, won't come back, and I can't find a certified Marshall repair listed anywhere in the United States. All my searches, including on Marshall's own website, state it is for UK customers only. This issue is common with this amp. Can you point me in the right direction? I am not an engineer.

My dsl 20hr is a great sounding amp, I have just started using the supplied footswitch, but noticed a problem. The tone changes when footswitch is plugged in, the tone is clearer, slightly louder. When unplugged the tone goes slightly darker. Also when plugged in the tone is better, more crunchy. But when I engage the fx loop, again the tone darkens, as if throwing a blanket over the speakers. I run a delay and reverb in the loop, checked all cables etc all fine. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
