My Code25 over the last few months, has started to suffer from the volume suddently dropping. It doesn't seem to matter what preset I am using, though the main culprits seem to be the Jubilee Gain with the classic 100w power amp setting and 1960 cab. When it occurs, I either have to come out of the preset, try different presets by pressing the various buttons on the PEDL91009, or by turning the amp off and on. This doesn't happen every time I use the amp, but enough to be an issue, especially when out gigging. I am on the latest firmware of 1.44

An example of the problem can clearly be heard on this recording of a recent practice session. It start at full volume, then just drops considerably.

?

Is this a known issue? Is there likely to be a future firmware update which may adress it?

Hi,

Does anyone know where to find information about firmware updates for the Marshall Multi-room speakers? (Stanmore, Acton, Woburn).
Like a changelog or latest firmware date?

I want to find out if Marshall is even working at fixing all the known problems at all or if they just totally abandoned these products.

My current firmware:

Marshall Stanmore Multi-Room
Firmware: 1561616839
Chromecast v: 1.28.102057

Marshall Acton Multi-Room
Firmware: 1561617046
Chromecast v : 1.28.102057

I have a xiaomi redmi note 8 and also have a problem connecting the marshall gateway app to the amp code50.
I can only be connected as if I were listening to music, I even tried to connect it with an otg adapter, it works like that, but there are a lot of problems with braking the application? Please if it is possible to solve this problem.

And if I tried all variants except one, and that is to uninstall every marshall application to amplify my Marshall Code 50 Firmware 1.4.4 recognize bluetooth connection from which I can control my installed Gateway 1.5.5 of course not just music to listen to But that I have complete control and whether maybe the problem is that the usb is included in my computer, whether to turn it off because I registered everything else. If anyone can answer all these questions I will be grateful.

I have Marshall CODE50 and PEDL-91010 (2-way switch). I have the latest 1.44 firmware update installed, but my pedal does not work properly. For some reason when I press the switch to go down a preset it goes up a preset or just does nothing. Sometimes it works, but that does not happen very often. I've opened the footswitch and the circuit seems too simple to be faulty and by the way my amp acts when I press the down switch it looks like it is the problem with the firmware.

I recently purchased a CODE25 to use as a practice amp. It looked like something fun I could play around with.

The first few days it was ok as I was only using some of the factory presets. Trouble started as soon as I edited one or saved an online preset. The sound dissappeared (speaker) and the display got very faint. Restarting the amp made the display ok again but still no speaker sound. I reset the presets (hold down Amp while turning it on) and that seemed to do the trick.

But soon after the sound issue started again. I reset the amp presets, re-installed the firmware, but I only had sound for 2-3 seconds after boot, then nothing.

I have now discovered that if I plug in a headphone (which has sound) and then unplug it, I have speaker sound again. This makes me even more confused. I haven't tested long enough to confirm that this will work over time.

I see that there is a lot of posts regarding sound issues and requests for a long overdue firmware. But have anyone found out any new tricks to overcome the issues?

I sent an email to Servicedesk last week but haven't recieved a response of any kind.

I have an issue with tap tempo on the Code 25 with 1.45 firmware and wondered if anyone else has the same issue.  The manual says you should "press MOD and DEL selection switches together". When I do that the amp does indeed go into tap tempo mode (tap the selector switch to set tempo), but regardless of how quick I press the buttons or if I hold down one and then hit the other it always switches on the MOD module too. The other double combination switches (tuner and bluetooth) dont do this and work as expected and only switch on those functions without switching on or off any other modules.

Many people are talking that the new CODE products with current manufacturing dates are already coming from the factory with the new Firmware 1.45, and that it brings many improvements and the equipment sounds better than with the 1.44 which is the last officially launched.

Please release this new 1.45 as soon as possible or at least let us know when its release is estimated on the official website Thank you

I seem to be having the same issues that a lot of people have reported, where I cannot get the Marshall Gateway app to connect to my Code 25. I've only had the amp for about a week and I cannot get the app to see it.

I can connect to the amp via Bluetooth using my phone (Pixel 3a, Android 11) and whilst connected, can use it as a BT speaker to play music from Spotify. However, nothing I do seems to get the app to connect to the amplifier.

-I've updated the amp to the latest firmware using my laptop/web browser.
-I've followed all the instructions in the Bluetooth Connectivity Troubleshooter to the letter (CODE - Gateway Bluetooth Connection Troubleshooting - my.marshall.com)

No matter what I do, or what order I install/uninstall/connect, the app will not see the amplifier. Everything works otherwise - I'm able to apply Patches from ? using a USB connection - and the amp sounds great. I'd just like to be able to control it from my phone.

Hello, . . . im new to guitar and this is the first amp i have bought with my own money.

I have a 100h that says version 1.11 when i turn it on. I am happy with the sound for the most part but wish there were some improvemnts to the software

Due to marshalls apparent lack of interest in the software, and peoples stories on here of updates making their amp worse, I am afraid of "bricking" my amp if i try to upgrade the firmware so wondering if anyone really noticed much of an improvement from updating the firmware, and if it was even worth it?

My two biggest software issues are:

1.when i connect my phone the amp automatically reverts to the first phone presets so if i am in the middle of playing with a certain preset and my phone decides to dissconnect and reconnect it will change the preset, or if I walk out of the room  . .. ... .which is  really, f8king, annoying.

2.the mute lag when switching between presets,  . . . . seems pretty useless and lame to play live if there is a big silent gap between switching tones

Can anyone confirm if the firmware update fixes either of these? Thx!!!!

Here are a few things I would suggest as improvements to the Marshall Code series. I have a 25 so some things may be specific to that amp. I have stuck to things that could be improved only by software or firmware as these are improvements everyone can have simply by updating the firmware rather than modifying the amp itself.

1. Reduced power mode to switch between full power and lower power mode. This would fix the volume control issue everyone complains about.  Maybe this could be a global setting in the firmware ?

2. USB audio Volume level setting (e.g.  -3dB, 0dB, +3dB etc). This could also be a global setting in the firmware ?

2. Normalise the volumes of the models, some are way too hot (British class A power-amp), some are way too low (Natural pre-amp). I beleive this is the reason why some models have strange low frequency distortion (50s British, OD DSL).

3. Show the configuration of the Cab models, not everyone is a Marshall fanboy and I have no idea what cab a "1960X". even if it was displayed as "1960X (4x12)" I would at least know what the configuration of cab the model is.

4. Fix the spring and hall reverbs, they sound very cheap, like the "echo" you would get on a cheap karaoke machine, certainly nothing like a spring reverb.

5. For god's sake release an official desktop editor!!! with the option to save/restore/edit patches.

6. A sync button to sync the amp presets with your gateway. It you want to rearage the patches online in gateway, you have to manually save all the patches one at a time to the amp using the phone app. So if you add a new patch at position 0, you have to manually save all 100 patches one at a time in order to match your gateway sounds!

 7. Fix the tuner, it is pretty bad on both the amp and the app. It's slow to respond and not very accurate (at least thats what its like on mine). Ive no idea how well it works on the foot controller.

8. If possible add a Fuzz pedal model, even at the expense of removing another model (I wouldnt miss the pretty poor Acoustic simulator for instance).

These are just some suggestions that I feel would make the amp just a little bit better, but in general I'm having a lot of fun with this little amp, and love the sounds and features it has. It is way better sounding than some of the negative reviews online would suggest.

Maybe other people can suggest firmware updates too?

I have the following problem with my Marshall Stanmore (I) Bluetooth speaker:

Whenever I am wirelessly connected, the Bluetooth connection drops after 20 minutes — while playing music!

The surprising thing is that it not just happens randomly after 15 to 45 minutes — no, it happens suspiciously regularly after 20 minutes. I went and tested this with my laptop (4 times) and my phone (3 times) by writing down the start and stopping times, and the Bluetooth connection got interrupted (the music stopped) after 20 minutes each time. 7 times in a row. No exception.

• Yes, I have removed the speaker from all devices, then re-repaired them. Multiple times.

• Yes, the problem exists with all my devices that can send sound via Bluetooth (laptop, phone, desktop,). Those same devices have no problem to stream music to my Sony sound system or portable Bluetooth speakers. The problem only exists with the Stanmore.

• No, the Stanmore is not near a wifi router, a micro wave, a DECT phone or close to other Bluetooth devices. All of my other Bluetooth devices work perfectly fine. During my tests, the speaker and the Bluetooth source were about half a meter/two feet apart.

• Yes, I have had the Stanmore disconnected from power for an hour. Even a few days, actually.

• Yes, sound works perfectly fine via the wired connection (INPUT 1) and it doesn't stop after 20 minutes.

• Yes, the "STANDBY MODE" switch on the back  is set to "STANDARD". (But surely no Bluetooth speaker would ever go into standby mode WHILE playing music anyways, right?)

• No, I am out unfortunately of warranty. The speaker looks great and hasn't been used that much. I also find that it financially doesn't make much sense to spend 130€ (max.) on a Marshall OOW repair.

• No, the Stanmore I is not compatible with the Marshall Bluetooth app, and there is no way for me to update the firmware (as far as I know).

• Yes, I can absolutely open up the speaker and post pictures of specific components, if someone has a clue about what capacitors or chips to look out for.

Additional info on the issue:
I experience no problems connecting via Bluetooth, from any device. I can start playing music — but after 20 minutes, the music will automatically stop. If I am streaming from Spotify for example, the player will just pause. The Stanmore stays powered, and the red BLUETOOTH light on the Stanmore is still on, but it appears a little dimmer than normally. I have found that pressing the SOURCE/WAKE button once usually wakes up the Bluetooth connection again, and then after a while, I can resume music by un-pausing on the laptop or phone.

Thoughts? Ideas?
The fact that this happens after a very precise operating time, sure sounds a lot like it could be standby-related. But the Stanmore is not set to POWERSAVER mode. And even if it was, it would only enter standby mode after a certain time if it wasn't playing anything. A speaker that goes into standby mode every 20 minutes WHILE playing music ... that would be ridiculous! And yet, that is exactly what I am dealing with.
Any ideas or clues for what to try or look out for?

Hi i have a set of combined issues with my Code 50 with the 4 button footswitch

First of, love the products!

But my issue with it is major! I cannot set any preset on my footswitch, It seems so easy on the tutorials but mine just keeps on switching back to the preset that already was on the button (1,2 or 3). I do as followed. I chose the preset i want on ex.button 1, so i hold the "store/exit" button for 2 seconds and then i push the 1 button on the footswitch. But it only changes back to the preset it WAS. So no changes. When i HOLD the "Store/Exit" button for too long (3a4 sec) then it says "stored" and then no sounds comes out of the amp anymore, i can push the REV and AMP buttons and the LED light up. But no sound! The footswitch also then doesnt butch. I have to restart the AMP to get it to work again.

I tried to update the firmware but it already was up-to-date so i reinstalled the latest firmware again. I also tried to reset the AMP back to the factory reset but the problem still exists.

Please help,

Hello

I've finally had time to sit down and play properly with my new Code 25.  There is a lot of fun to be had with this thing, however there are a few things that have became apparent with some of the models.

Pre-amp models "50s British" and "OD DSL" have really odd low frequency harmonics. To the point where both these pre amp models are pretty much  unusable. The default patches that use these settings are proof of this. To me it appear that its these patches that certain Youtuber's concentrated on when bad mouthing the amp online (and I can understand why). All the models have some amounts of digital artifacts, but these 2 models are unbeleivably bad.

Power-amp model "British Class A" seems too hot to me, not that I have an expert ear, but it is almost impossible to get a clean tone with that power amp regardless of what pre-amp you put in front of it and how low you set the pre-amp gain.

I understand that no modelling is perfect, but in general these 3 models just don't respond the same way as the other models on the amp.

OK. I'm aware that the Code 25 is a low cost practice amp, and I am fully prepared to just pretend these models dont exist and live with the other much better models on the amp. However in the spirit of reporting issues with the potential of improving the product then if these models can be fixed in the next firmware update (if there is one) then that would be great.

Thanks

Hi, I just recieved my Code 50 yesterday "bought brand new" and the amp sounded great until i hooked up to my pc this morning and downloaded a featured preset not a communiy preset. I am running usb not bluetooth and its my studio setup. Now all the distortion and gain sounds like the input gain is wide open clipping the signal coming in at all volume levels, and on all distortion and od gain presets. I tried to reset the amp and did a firmware update now its litterally so bad you cant play it. This is certainly a software issue cause the effects and clean tones sound fine. This happened immediatley after i sent the preset usb from the website to the amp from the pc. Also i tried several guitars, usb cables, guitar cables and even my mac. just dont know wether i should send it back or if thiscan be fixed with a firmware patch or something , Thanks

I noticed my Marshall Code  25 makes a hissing noise when I play through any of the clean amp models. This hissing noise is clearly audible when I play a note on the low E string. It reminds me of an old cassette tape. This is especially apparent with the cab emulation switched off. On the higher strings there is no problem. Is this normal? The hiss doesn't go away with the noise gate turned on.  I have this problem with both firmware versions 1.44 and 1.45.

I recently purchased a Marshall Code 25. Today I decided to update the firmware.  Originally it had version 1.45 on it, but after the update it now has version 1.44. I can't find version 1.45 on the Marshall website. How can I install the latest firmware, which is 1.45?

It's been ovem a year and a half since there's been a firmware update. I was hoping they could take out some of the bass response that seems to be prevalent on my Code 50 in the next firmware update.  Does anybodt know of any plans to do any updates?

I have followed all the Forum and Support threads, re-installed current  Amp firmware, updated the Gateway App, restared everything several times... the iPhone does not see the Amp when blue light is flashing to 'pair'. Also not visible to ipad or other devices so I'm assuming it's a problem with the CODE system itself. I haven't even got as far as connecting the Gateway App!

Looking through the forum, this is clearly not an isolated event - looks like the Amp firmware is WAY behind current Bluetooth versions.

Any suggestions please? I am still within my return for credit timeline - should I send it back to the dealer?
