I connected my Code 50 to my laptop via bluetooth, but the my.marshall presets says "CODE not connected". I tried connecting via USB, but the amp has a goofy connector that standard USB cables do not connect to. Also - I can connect via the Gateway app on my phone, but the presets I add to My Library do not show up (even though it says that they have synced).

Hi, i have a Marshall Code 50. I tried to record with usb input but there is a lot of noise (interference) every 10-15-20 seconds (random).

I have high quality cable and a yamaha RGX A2. With the oldest firmware version it was noisier, now with the v1.41 is better but how can I fix?

Any suggestions?

Sorry for my english.

Thank you.

Hi Marshall,

First of all I love the Code 100 amp, however, I purchased this to practice with but also to use in a duo for small pub and club gigs.

I have been using two amps for stereo mp3 backing tracks and 2 guitar amps plus a PA all DI'd into a small 8 track mixing desk using line out's from the amps.

The Code 100 unlike competitors amp modelling combo's doesn't have a line out, only headphones and USB (which also doesn't cater for ASIO as I use Cubase for our backing track recordings). Is this amp only a practice amp as the ads suggest it is powerfull enough to use in small gigs, but without a line out, the volume would have to be independantly changed manually rather than having everything in one place on the mixer as solo, duo and bands have done for many years.

Do you have a solution for this as do not want to have to send this back and go for an inferior competitors model as you feature tops in all the reviews. Seems like a big omission for giging musicians!!!

Or is there an upgrade planeed for those who need a line out for DI'ing to a desk to manage the total sound or for live recording, or is there something we could purchase that connects to the USB interface that could go to the mixing desk?

Kindest Regards

Hi!

Can I record sound connecting my Ubuntu Linux 18.04 via USB cable?

I think the Ubuntu does not recognize Marshall Code 25 as a recording device. I tried without success. Can you help, please?

Hello, I would like to connect one of my PCs (OS linux) on a Marshall CODE 50 and take control via usb midi.

When I open /etc/dmmidi2 in read acces. Reading file char by char, I see information when I touch the buttons of the amp (PREFX, AMP, MOD, ...). I can find the information in CODE-Midi-Implementation-Chart-V2.1.pdf.

I usually get two or three bytes and cross it with the document.
But this frame is not in the form Start of Transmission> Header> Command> End of Transmission.

By against when I open /etc/dmmmidi2 in write access, I can not send any command.
After having turned on the amp, I sent the following sequence for RECALL PRESETS 05:
0xF0 0x00 0x21 0x15 0x7F 0x7F 0x7F 0x73 0x01 0x05 0xF7
or RECALL CURRENT SETTINGS:
0xF0 0x00 0x21 0x15 0x7F 0x7F 0x7F 0x72 0x01 0x00 0xF7
Start of Transmission> Header> Command> End of Transmission
This command does not seem to work. Is there an intermediary step?

Would it be possible to give me a typical sequence to the CODE or a document that will explain the procedure to operate (ON / OFF) one of the button (PREFX, AMP, MOD, ...) of the amp.
Thank you in advance.
Cordially.

I was very disappointed by the lack of the ability to disable direct monitoring of the CODE signal by VST ... I'm not satisfied with the sound quality of the CAB-sim, but I really like the sound of the AMP and I wanted to use CODE through VST with IRs - but in parallel with the VST there is always direct monitoring from the Code and does my work in vain...((

Hi! Just bought the CODE 25 amp and I've put the firmware up to date, everything seems to be ok but when I unplug the USB, the LCD reads "CHK USB". I turn it off then on, try to unplug and replug and still read CHK USB and the amp doesn't work.

Thanks for your answers

Hi, my Code 50 USB has stopped working, nothing wrong with the USB port because it still charges the phone - tried two cables, no luck.  So now I'm trying to figure out how to play songs through it via Bluetooth but *&^%%%%### no luck - how the hell do you do it? I've downloaded the Marshall Gateway app to my android but all i get is my phone icon and an arrow to the amp icon. DO I have to do something on the amp?

Hi,

I recently purchased the CODE 25 and am having a hard time connecting it to my laptop with the USB cables that i have.  Does this require a special USB cable?

I'm using the USB connection from a PC to the Code 25, and found that the ouput sound on the headphones is only mono-left mixed.  I get sound in both speakers on my headset, but when I test left/right channels, it's obvious that the sound is only coming from left channel.

This isn't an issue when I'm playing music through the Bluetooth connection, and both left/right channels come through ok.

Is there a firmware fix so that when sound is channeled through USB to the headphone 3.5mm jack, it'd be stereo instead of mono-mixed?

Ever since I connected a USB cable between my CODE 50 and set up this account I cannot get sound to come out of the speakers. My amp is all but dead.  HOW do I reboot or reset my amp to make sound come out of the speakers when I jack my guitar into it; turn the unit on; slowly raise the Volume GAIN and Master volume and hope to play something?

Does anyone know?  Thank you for your time.

Hey all - new to the forums, new to Marshall amps and had a few questions about the Code 50 I just ordered that will be here in a day or so.  I have played my guitars through my buddy's Code 50 and am familiar with editing the patches, tweaking the tones and getting the sounds that I want from the amp to fit my playing style.  What I am not familiar with is the use of footswitch and any Midi capabilities it may have.

1) Can one use just a regular on/off type of old school footswitch to turn an effect or amp on/off or initiate a patch change?  I have several old school footswitches I have successfully used on many different amps, albeit older amps, and it has always worked.  Curious since the Marshall footswitch actually holds presets if anything like that would work.

2) As far as Midi goes, I come from a Line6 multi-effects world and know that many of their multi-effect units have the capability to control effects on/off/parameters and patch/bank switching via Midi commands.  Does the Code software have anything like that if hooked up to a PC/Mac running a DAW that has the capability to send midi control commands to change patches/effects realtime during recording/playback.

Thanks for any input and excited to get this amp.  I am a player of over 30 years and have only ever played through Crate amps for the past 20+ years that have finally given up and the cost to repair is more than new.  Bash Crate all you want but they were loud and proud and with the right EQ/effects loops made some damn good musical sounds.

I have no trouble recording directly from Amp into GarageBand, but when I open Logic Pro X, even though Code is selected as input and output, when I go to record it tells me that there is nothing connected.  I don't what settings I could change for this and it works perfectly in GarageBand.  Thoughts?

Just bought the 50.  I have done the hold the 3 buttons down while turning it on to see the current version.  I then connect the USB and it says USB connected Ready to update.  But when I try to update from both the browser and the utility, it says "please connect your code".  I have made the config changes on the troubleshooting site, and used 2 different laptops and 3 different cables but none of them will push the updates.  It won't show the Code as being connected for some reason.

Anyone have an idea of where I am going wrong?  I don't have any Chrome updates to do, and I am stumped.  I don't want to have to return this if there is an easy fix.

Thanks in advance!

How do I set up my new CODE50 USB to my CUBASE9? "CODE" shows up in CUBASE Inspector for MIDI Tracks, but no signal.

Do I need a CODE driver?

Does the CODE50 USB only send MIDI?

Does it send audio waveform signals?

I viewed a couple of Marshall video tutorials that didn't help and it says practically nothing in the download manual.

Thanks, Kevin

I got a Marshall Code 50 a few days ago. It is so much more than I expected. There are more than enough presets to mess with. Some are pretty crappy, but there are abunch of good ones worth tweaking. I've read a lot of comments saying that the amp is crap, the presets suck, etc  With so many editing options available, if you can't find the tone you want, you shouldn't be messing with modeling amps.   There is plenty of power for my needs, and seems to sound good and consistent through a large volume range.

The stuff I don't like:

1) Why couldn't you use a 1/4" headphone jack instead of the mini?

2) Why couldn't you use a USB normal sized plug instead of miniUSB?  You didn't know that miniUSB is almost prehistoric now? I had a tough time finding an adaptor here in Sao Paulo.  If I can't easily get ancient technology here in Brazil, the connector must be extinct in the real world.

I've started messing around connecting the amp  to my DAW Logic pro and recorded some stuff. It's got potential
