Hi everyone, so I recently purchased a Marshall Code 25 off of a friend and the amp is perfect for what I need; however, every now and then it starts buzzing out of control. I'll turn it on in the morning to start recording and the buzz is so loud, it almost overpowers my guitar sound! I have tried 3 different guitars, acoustic and electric, bought a high-end Ernie Ball cable and even moved house and the buzz is still there! I was able to fix it in the past by updating ad overwriting the firmware and then leaving it unplugged for a few hours to a day and that solution worked for a long time, but now it's buzzing again and nothing I've tried has made any difference. Another thing, its plugged into the same power strip as my PC and monitor, but the power strip I've switched to is a $50 uninterruptible machine of a power strip that looks like a space ship, to no avail. Also, when I turn my amp on, it makes my PC monitor kind of short-circuit and the picture freezes and fragments for a split second and then goes back to normal. I have tried every possible amp setting, and only setting the noise gate to 80% gets rid of it, which is unusable. I have also tried other power outlets and it only works when it's in a separate part of the house. I should also mention that the sound does go away when I turn the preamp button off on the amp, which again, makes the amp unusable. The house I moved to is also relatively newly made and has had various electricians here to sort out any previous power issues in the past few weeks. I'm at my wit's end and I seriously need some help!

The new Stockwell 2 seems to come with an auto-standby mode, meaning it shuts off after between 5 min and 20 min (seems to be different from a phone versus a laptop?) even if the connection via bluetooth or jack-in is stable. Although the sound is nice for the size, the speaker is barely useful in settings where sound is not played all the time.

Team Marshall, can you please provide an option to define a custom time (let's say 2h) or completely disable the  auto-standby mode either by a Firmware update ob by integrating the Stockwell 2 into the Marshall app? Thanks.

Best
Rey

I dont know why you removed the feature of turning off the standby mode. It was a terrible decision. We need smart devices and not dumb ones. You really expect me to press a button on the speaker every time I use it after 20 minutes? Please update the app and firmware so we can enable turning off this stupid feature.

An annoying problem of Code 50 concerns the sound of low frequencies which are extremely "muddy"
using a Stratocaster's bridge single coils
: absolutely no attack & non-existent twang!.

I really like this amplifier and I am sure that with a firmware update this problem can certainly be solved

My current firmware version is 1.44.

Cheers

Got an issue with my Marshall Stanmore wifi speaker. When playing music through Wifi or Bluetooth the volume always goes down on its own. Have to turn up the volume between 5-10 times before it stops turning down the volume on its own. Wifi and Bluetooth connection are fine, it has this issue which each connected device I've tried and with all apps (spotify, Google Music, YouTube,...). Any idea on settings or stuff i can check? Maybe a firmware update something?

Guys -

You need to get someone to fix the Bluetooth capabilities with this product line, like, yesterday. I updated the firmware yesterday, which was extremely difficult to do in the first place, uninstalled / reinstalled the Gateway app today, and still cannot connect to the amp except via my phone's native Bluetooth options to use it as a speaker. I am running ios 13.3.1.

I've scoured your web site, I've watched your videos, I've been all over Google and Youtube, and I am nowhere. In addition, I'm legitimately concerned by other reviews that the amp is simply not going to sound as good given I've updated the firmware. Will post again if that's the case.

I will see if I can push new presets to the amp via a hard connection to my PC, but you need to do serious damage control on this product line considering your leading selling point has proven to not work as intended, if at all.

My new Code 50 is bad noisy out of the box. I have tried 3 cables, 2 diffrent Guitars. I have tried a diffrent Outlet. Nothing seems to stop the noise.

I can turn the preset to some that are quiter, but almost all have a noticiable amount of noise and or Buzzing sound.

I have tried Firmware upgrade, IT was the same version, so I reinstalled not luck.

Please help.

When is a new firmware going to show up. New effects, take care of the extra noises, and a thought since the plexi has the two volume controls maybe add that to the mix to get a more accurate plexi sound.

We've bought an amp emulator with a firmware, we have spent money believing in Marshall that is a great trademark. Every sellers of amp with emulations inside and a firmware periodically upgrade it. You don't do it. It's time to do it, to increase the number of the amps, the effects, the algoritm need to be more realistic and warming. Come on!

I have the Code 25, and just installed the latest updates (1.44) to the firmware. However, I still cannont get the Gateway app to recognize the amp. I am connected via blue tooth as I can play music from my Android phone over the amp, but the controls from the app don't work at all. Again, when I search it does not find an amp. Help?

Hi I have a CODE 100H head/cab and a CODE 100 combo both with the latest firmware re-installed from Marshall and both have this issue, i.e. the amp very oftenn completely freezes when I save a preset.

Steps to reproduce:

- Modify any patch on the front panel

- Save

- 50% of the times the amp seems to freeze. The preset is saved but you can no longer change preset and there is no sound coming out.

The same happens if you modify a patch from the iOS app via bluetooth and then save it from there.

It's REALLY frustrating and I can't believe I didn't find anything on this forum under the "crash on save" keywords. Seeing it happens on both of my CODE units it much be a software bug, I don't think it has anything to do with my units.

Anyone else has seen this problem?

Thanks!

Hi

I purchased a Marshall Code 100H in April 2019.

It was replaced under warranty last week by the retailer as it had developed a constant electronic beeping sound.

I received the new head and right out the box it was much improved. I decided to get to grips with loading up my presets and patches so began by carrying out the latest firmware update as advised by Marshall, alas, the electronic beeping sound has returned.

It is constant and present with or without a guitar plugged in, elevates with master volume, cannot be fixed with a noise gate, the amp has been plugged in several different venues and the noise persists and it was not auidable before updating to firmware V1.44.  Jul 2019.

Is there a means of rolling back the firmware or is there a known fix for this issue, it doesn't seem fair the retailer has to replace another amp which was fine until update was applied. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
