I want to be able to use an overdrive pedal, and is that best accomplished with a clean tone/no presets?

I just recently purchased a Marshall Code 25 and when i tried to use headphones(all 3 of them, of extremely good quality and every day use) the sound is terrible.

What might be the problem, and are any of the marshall headphones good for that amp? Does the Code need some kind of specific headphones?

What options are available to replace the stock 4 ohm speaker that comes in the Code 50?  I would like to upgrade to a Celetion or something similar.  The stock speaker flutters at volume when using the heavy distorted/gain presets.  Any recommedations?

Hello.

I've been using the Marhsall Monitor bluetooth headphones for about a year and I haven't had any issues using these in rain or during really sweaty sessions at the gym. I'm now looking to upgrade to the Marshall Monitor A.N.C. II. And from the promotion video posted by marshall(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMy3OXCXZvk) I see at the 1:17 mark that(what I assume is) the microphones for A.N.C. will be located on the top of the headset.
Will this pose a higher risk for water damage on this headset modell?

See screenshot from promotion video:

Thanks for any type of response.

Hi there,

I found an old Marshall 2236B cabinet that has 4 greenbacks and a big red horn. (one with name celestion and 3 of them are rola celestions).

All elements 16 ohm.

The grill cloth is basket.. light brown.. and this cab has had a small marshall logo on the center..  fastened with 5 pins.

I can only find a date stamp on the celestion (without taking them loose).. it says December 1970.

Cabinets serial is 30274

Could you please tell me how many were made and how rare this is? I guess these were made between 1970-1974? Right?

Any idea of todays value? All elements working perfectly and casters missing.. you have any casters left for these? =D

Best regards:

Here are the videos of the defect

https://youtu.be/76qT838U1BM

https://youtu.be/EGViKazjSQI

This amp sounded like this since day one I always thought it was maybe just the effects but soon realised after using the clean channel turning off all the fx and amps and also having people look at it I realised that theres something seriously wrong with it. I tried contacting you guys for that 5 year warranty especially since its defective but have not gotten a response. Its been almost a year that I've been trying to figure whats wrong with it but even person I ask has no clue I've searched and searched and have found no such issue similar to mine. I would like to get an explaination of the issue and see if there is a solution or maybe a replacement if possible thank you.

My first post here, so apologies if I'm out of line on Forum protocol!  I just bought a used MG250DFX used on Reverb. It's my first Marshall after a lifetime of dreaming of having one!

Where could one find the original owners manual if there is one for download, as well as find out what type of speakers came with the original unit?

Cheers!

Is there any way to reduce the wattage on the code 50.  50 watts is tremendously loud and I can not get the "sweet spot" with out rattling the windows.  I know the alternative is the CODE 25 but I am hesitant with the 10" speaker.   Any suggestions?

Many Thanks!!

Hello,

i switch through my presets with  the Marshall PEDL-91009, however, this pedalboard only has 3 switches and a bank switch, however i would like to have a pedalboard with more than 3 preset switch button for faster recall ... is there a solution (maybe via MIDI) , or a compatible footswitch that i am unaware of?

After struggling for an hour with instructions in the User Manual and online Support, here's how I was able to pair my Monitor Bluetooth Headphones with a second source:

1) Turn off Bluetooth on the existing/first source.
2) Power off Monitor headphones.
3) Press and hold the Power button for ~10 seconds (in other words, keep holding after the initial "power on" tone) until you hear a second tone.  The LED on the headphone will blink with a sapphire color.
4) Discover the Monitor headphones on the second source and connect.

I love my headphones, but the User Manual and on-line help are deficient on this topic.

Hello,

I've noticed that there is rattling/jangling coming from the amp (not the speaker) when playing notes between low  A and C and their respective octaves above. It sounds like it is coming from the EL34 valves - is this due to the way that they are mounted without spring dampers? They have not gone microphonic as far as I can tell, and are otherwise performing as expected, so I feel this is more a mechanical issue with the chassis/mounting, or it's just an undesirable characteristic of the valves themselves. What I'd ideally like to know is, do all Origin 20Cs do this or is this the first anyone has heard about this?

I've removed every external variable there could be, moving the amp to another location and isolating it from floor vibrations in the studio. I've taken the 'amp' out of the cabinet so that I could lightly tap the valves, and check the screws around the supports are not loose. You can generate the rattle (or very similar) just by tapping lightly with the handle of a screwdriver, on both valves. This is what I was expecting if it was just physical vibrations from the speaker causing them to rattle in sypmathy. The rattling sound does not get amplified, so it's not in the audio path.

It's enough to be offputting when tracking/practicing in the studio unless pushing out really high volume so that you can only hear the guitar. I play fairly clean a lot of the time so it is more obvious under those conditions.

Would really appreciate some advice. If the answer is, "It's the same for all and there's not much that can be done..." then ok, I just need to know. That said, I spotted there was some sort of similar issue perhaps on Class 5 amps that a kit was developed for to resolve? I may have misunderstood though.

If there is any further mechanical troubleshooting to be done then please let me know. I wouldn't want to void the warranty status if possible. For what it's worth, I'm a systems and support engineer for a large format mixing console company, so I'm competent enough to poke around as required... just figured someone may have alreday solved this one before I carry on!

Kind regards,

Ed

I have a 2012 DSL40C.  If I use a 16 Ohm extenstion cab, can I plug that into one of the 8 OHM outputs, and then move the cord for the internal 16 ohm speaker to the other 8 ohm output, basically turning this into a 12 x 3 speaker configuration? Will the amp be able to power that many speakers?

Hi there,

here is a cabinet our lead player appeared with today at our practice room. He bought this in the 70's and has only replaced the cloth on it due to unwanted cat attention! Any idea how I might get the wattage and impedence from the serial number as he intends to run his Victory VX Kraken through it when it arrives! Personally I think it would be like taking an E-Type Jaguar for a spin in a ploughed field!!

Many thanks.

My code 100 makes this high pitched quiet hum. It makes a kind of a low volume noise almost like it's not coming from the speakers. It's almost like a high pitched electric buzz. It doesn't seem to interfere with the function of it but I just wanted to know if this is normal. The noise dosen't sound like it's coming from the speakers, but it's hard to tell. It sounds like an electrical high pitch buzz. Nothing else is on in the room. The lights are not florescent either.  I just want to know if it's supposed to be that way. I also went back to the store to see if the other Code 100 they have does the same thing ...and sure enough it DOES the same thing as mine.   Wha't causing this hum?

Hello Marshall. My Code 50 was connecting the other day and tonight I could not get it to connect. I am getting a message similar to this: Can only control an amp you are connected to. Something similar to this. Like my phone is connected to another Marshall Code. I only have one Code amp. My phone is connected to the amp in my bluethooth settings and I see the amp in the Gateway app. I have tried to forget the device and then find it again. Turning the app off and restarting it. Even uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Still getting the same error message. Advice? Thanks.

Does anyone know how I can get a user's manual for an old AS50R?  I'm not having luck going to the commercial manual website services and I can't find anything on Marshall's own website.  Thanks.

Hello Group! I am about to receive my new Marshall Origin 50 watt head on Monday (March 5th). I'm excited as hell! I was looking for a 50 watt platform to go through my hand made Tweed 1X12 cab with a EVM12L that I built three years ago. I just had a bad expierience buying a Fender Bandmaster VM with a blown digital effects board. The repair facility could not obtain this part from anywhere. I wound up returning it to Reverb.com and was out all the repair money, two 5 hour round trips and $55 to ship it back. I was really devistated until (by accident) I stumbled onto this Origin series amp. I owned a few Marshalls in my day but this one really caught my eye. My question to you guys is this; normally amps come through with pretty basic tubes. I have no idea what the Origin comes with as far as stock tubes. Being the perfectionist that I am and the gear freak I've always been, I'm already wanting to upgrade the 12AX7's (EC83s) and the EL34s. Any suggestions as to a good upgrade or are the stock tubes pretty good? Thanks guys (and gals)

As pointed out in these blogs the Code series locks up during editing and doesn't have an app for Mac users. These issues go back to al least June of this year. When is Marshall going address these issuse other than saying "a solution is coming soon?" I recently purchased a Code 50 but I am not going to hold on to it if Marshall is not going to support it.
