I cannot use the Gateway app and USB connection together. If my Windows 10 laptop is connect to the amp via USB while the Gateway app is running, it freezes the controls settings in the amp and the app. I still get sound, but I cannot change presets or edit presets on the amp or with the app with the USB connected. I have to disconnect the USB cable to be able to use the app, or the amp controls. If I want to use USB, I cannot use the app. If I want to use the app, I cannot use USB. Any ideas?

I have the latest firmware and latest version of the app. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting bluetooth connection. I've tried restarting the computer. I've tried disconnectiong Bluetooth, shuting down the amp and the computer, and starting everthing up again. Nothing helps.

When I try to hook my amp to my laptop, a box appears at the bottom of the screen that says code 50 not connected. I'm no computer genius and I'm sure I'm missing something simple but, how do I get it to connect?

I just want to check with fellow CODE users if they are facing the same issues that I am dealing with.

Biggest (and most annoying) issue is, it's a matter of luck connecting the CODE through USB. 2 times out of 10 my pc recognizes the amp the first time I plug it in. Mostly it gives an error that device is not connected properly or not recognized by windows. So I end up unplugging and plugging again until (if ever) it's been recognized. (Using windows 8.1 btw) Then suddenly in the middle of a recording session my DAW starts to drag like if I am running on a PC Pentium 600.  (It's running on a 3000$ alienware) This is a sign that somehow CODE get disconnected itself.  Now you have only option left: Restart the PC and start all over again.

So far I have checked with different USB cables, and I am using the shortest ones as possible as I can. (less than 80 cm.) I can't check with another pc since I don't have another one, but I am running Yamaha THR-10 smoothly, without any problems at all!

So I don't believe that there's an issue with my pc. And speaking of THR, why the hell CODE doesn't have it's dedicated USB drivers. I am kind of sure that the issue I am facing is all about the ASIO drivers that we are left with as an only option.

Second issue is, maybe only 1 out of 20 times I am able to get any presets from web site. Even if it looks like CODE is connected in the Device Manager, and the Chrome (or Opera) says MIDI is connected, I can't send any presets to the amp. After a few tries, this ends up with web browsers got frozen and only option is again: restart your pc!

I really would like to hear from people who are facing similar issues and how they could get over with it. (if they ever could)

And hopefully the only answer I receive from Marshall team is not going to be: "Thanks for your feedback, we will pass this to our technical team"

 Regards,

The lag time in the release of this footswitch is rediculous.  Why would you promise something that you can't / don't deliver on?    IF the Bluetooth/iphone Gateway App were usable/seemless, the physical footswitch might not be necessary.  IF the parameters of the amp (including up/down patches) were avaiable via the USB port to a Computer program/app, the physical footswich might not be necssary.  IF there weren't Bluetooth and other software bugs, then the physical footswitch might not be necessary.  Unfortunately, IT IS necessary just to use the Code 25/50 remotely as was promised in it's advertising when purchased. Mine is still under Warranty by Marshall.   It is not performing as advertised.  Please send footswitch, or send me a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for the whole AMP  - you pay return shipping...

I bought a CODE 25 amp and I can’t connect with any computer, I have tried with 2 different cabes and some differente OS: Windows 7, 10 and macSierra. I was thinking to update the firmware but, I can do that because the amp is unable to be recoginized by a computer!

It`s really frustrating!

Promises, promises ... "we'll fix it soon";  " bluetooth issues will be addressed in future firmware updates";  " USB recording issues will be looked into"; AND, a 2-way footswitch will be available for Code 25/50 users when Code 100 is released.  Am I alone in my disappointment for Marshall's seemingly apathetic (non) responses to purchasers of their "not ready for prime time" digital products?!?!?!   I really wanted a Marshall Amp after 45 years as a Fender user.  My mistake.  I should have known better.  Useless, unsupported, glitched, buggy, unreliable, etc., etc., etc.    What say you Marshall in an attempt to save any reputation you thought you had?!?!?!?

Hello everyone,

I just recently got a nice Code 25. And I am trying to record the sound through USB with Sonar Producer 8 in windows 10 OS. However, Sonar wont recognize Code. There are 3 options for audio devices in Sonar, which is MME, WDM KS and ASIO. When it switched to ASIO, Code is not shown at all, but when switched to either MME or WDM, Sonar tells me  error in the Code USB driver with 2 options, "disabled" or "use anyway". And if I choose use anyway, Code will be shown but can not be selected as input for audio channel.

Checked the support from Sonar, Marshall Code has not  listed in their support/download site.

Here is the address : www.cakewalk.com/support/hardwaresetup.

Anybody has solution for this?

Note : No problem at all for playback from windows to Code. Only problem for recording.

Any help or opinion will be appreciated.

Hi Marshall team,

I successfully connected my code 25 via USB on Windows 8.1

It's recognized by Windows, you can see it as CODE on device manager.

My problem is, when loading Cubase 8 AI (I have the latest updated version) you can't select CODE drivers (or as an audio interface)

Once you are inside Cubase normally if you go to device setup CODE should be there on the list. Since I can't select it as an input source by anyways I can't record anything.

The process was very smooth with Yamaha thr10 or with some other audio interfaces.

Can you please help me how to use my CODE as input device, or as an audio interface. (I also have the latest firmware updated)

Thanks.

Greetings,

Has anyone had any success in using the CODE 50 with Propellerhead's Reason DAW via the USB connection?

My Windows laptop recognizes the CODE 50 when I hook it up, but Reason doesn't recognize it as a valid audio input that I can record from.  I'm thinking it may be an ASIO issue.  I know I can just run the headphone out of the CODE 50 into my Focusrite audio interface, but I was just curious about the USB option.

Thanks,
Rob

I bought Marshall CODE 25, connect USB cabel to PC, install ASIO4ALL driver, run Nuendo 4.3, driver Control panel show MONO IN - STEREO OUT, record fine but there is no stereo streaming from PC to headphones, only MONO. Everything is OK in Nuendo Audio Control Panel. I try with Media Player with MP3 files, same problem, only MONO. Try Abletone Live - same problem.

Is this normal for this amp, or mailfunction?

Thanks

Hi, Although My laptop recognizes My code 50 via usb, nuendo 4.3 doesn't (although it recognizes My zoom and korg asio).

Therefore, I'm unable to assign the code has an input for recording via usb. Thanks.

I've been recording on garageband and other softwares for a long time already!

However, I've bought this (crappy) amp to record via USB on these DVAs I'm used to work with. SO, aparently, after questioning people who uses the same amp, and here on the forum, NOBODY could explain the real reason why this "amp" won't work for recording via usb!

The TWO computers I use (macbook and PC - windows7) reconize the amp, however NO SOUND AT ALL are recorded!

I am familiar with LINE 6 products and I use them a lot. No problem at all with this gear! But MARSHALL, the most famous brand of amps on the world, releases an amp promising to do something they aparently are not able to!

Lame amp! recently bought and, hopefully, recently SOLD! Waste of my time and money!

Bought a Code 25 few days ago.  Plugged into my computer via usb, using garageband, and the funny thing happens. First, garageband does reconize the amp, however, no sound comes in or out. The volume on the channel of the amp won't work either.

Anyway, assuming it was a conflict between the amp and garageband, I tried it on reaper. Same problem, DAW reconizes the amp, no sound comes in or out.

Another test, the firmware. Did upgraded it, nothing happened again.

Any solution? I bought this amp exclusively to record via usb, and the main function for me isn't working. Dammit!

I was using the usb connection to record on Audacity.  The guitar I was using was a Fender Strat with noiseless pups.  I found that the signal stregth was really low and the only way I could get a decent recorded signal was to turn up the master volume to an unbearable level and was close to getting a stern talking to from my better half.  I then tried the same process but used some headphones and this sorted the level issue so it recorded a strong signal.  There was still a bit of crackle on the recording but much improved from the last firmware release.

I then recorded some acoustic guitar without headphones.  This was a martin DRs1 with a stock fishman pup.  Signal strength was really good and the quality was great.  No hum or hiss or crackle.

Great to hear others experiences.
