I have several custom presets in my Gateway (via my PC at my.marshall.com). I synchronized my PC with the Gateway App on my Android phone and all the new presets show up (so far, so good). The problem is that when I turn on the Code 100 amp, all of my presets (in the Gateway Library on my phone) get reset to the default presets.

If I turn off the amp and re-sync, all of my custom presets show up again. When I turn on the amp, they all get reset to default values.

I updated the firmware on my CODE 100 and tried several different startup configurations, but nothing works.

Why is the amp overwriting the presets on my Gateway App?

Hi.

I've tried uploading the firmware on my Marshall Code 25 using the Chrome, Opera and Edge latest browser versions on my Macbook pro 12.3 (Monterey) using a midi usb cable.

When doing the update the amp connects and allows me to click update... it shows the progress to 100% but then gives the error below:

"An error occurred. The update process was not completed. Please try restarting your computer/device, and then try the update process again."

I must have tried this a 100 times with no success.

Now when i resart my amp to play some tunes the display says "CHK USB" and the amp wont work.

This is all very frustrating and i hope someone can assist.

This issue is driving me crazy. My Code 50 used to work with my iphone and ipad, now it refuses to connect and I always get the above message.

I have performed the following:

1. Forgot bluetooth connection on both devices

2. Deleted iphone app and re-installed.

3. Re-paired and tried to connect with same issues,

4. Formed factor preset of amp with no luck.

I know the blueotth connects as I can play music through my amp from phone, I just cannot connect to update any presets.

Any solutions would be greatfully received, am getting so frustrated with this product.

Hello all. I am sorry for what is about to be a redudant and maybe to some, stupid question. I just got my dream amp, the JVM 410h. This is also my first tube amp and I want to care for it for long term use. For silent recording, I am running the line out with an xlr cable from my JVM head to my Scarlett interface, which I connect to my DAW and use cab modelling their for recroding. Do I lieave my standby switch on or off? The STANDBY/ silent recording notation is a little confusing to me. So should switch be pushed up or down? Also, should master volume be set to 0? Thanks in advance

Hello Team,

On the manual of the DSL1hr Vietnam its says that speaker is allowed only 16ohms.

But on the DSL1H (50th Anniv) it is mentioned it can be both 8 and 16 ohms.

Not sure if the Vietnam version can use the 8ohms as well? and it was not published on the amp or manual?

Please advise

Thanks alot

Hello -  After really enjoying the Kilburn II speaker, I bought two Acton II speakers to couple them for ambiant sound when not using traditional speakers since you can't couple Marshall's wireless speakers. The Acton II is fantastic for sound and range individually *before* my attempt to couple them. I've had many complex compatibility issues with products over the years, but in this case, it's most puzzling why two same-model "coupled" speakers can be controlled via the iPhone/iPad I paired with them, as well as with the Marshall app (volume/sound settings) but cannot in any shape or form maintain simultaneous outputs even when they're placed right next to each other (well within the 10-meter Marshall spec). So before returning them back to store, I wanted to check with other customers if they've ever truly achieved the goal of coupling two Acton II's with both of them continuously and consistently playing in tandem without streaming drops. Thank you for letting me know,

What I've tried to so far:

- Followed Marshall's pairing/coupling intructions word-by-word. Though their instructions are incomplete and way below their reputation.

What's more disappointing is the prompt you get in the app to "stay connected to Acton II but disconnected from Acton II in Bluetooth settings." Anyone know what that means?

- Tried two iPhones and an iPad (all latest iOS).

- Deleted, rebooted, and re-installed the Marshall Bluetooth app (v1.3.1) for iOS.

- Moved the speakers next to each other to eliminate distance argument.

- Tested each speaker with direct Bluetooth to iPhone/iPad source without any issues. In fact, range is so much more when not using the Marshall app to stream to the speaker.

- Factory-reset the speakers.

- End result: The only way I was able to have them coupled was ignore their instructions, couple the speakers and then completlely shut down their app. after they show as coupled . However, there's no way for them to continuously and play in tandem (even sitting right next to each other with source iPhone/iPad next to them). They continue to switch between each other.

- Also, Marshall needs to be clear that a "couple" can only function with one lifetime source. As soon as you try to use the speaker "couple" on another source device, you lose everything on the previous device and need to de-couple, forget speakers, re-add speakers to your device's Bluetooth, and then pray that the Marshall app will allow you to couple them again. Most of the 18-20 times I tried the whole process, I needed to uninstall their app, reboot device, and re-install their app. :(

Any help deeply appreciated before I return these speakers.

Hello all, I have an older amp MG15CDR. Bit of a problem with it. Crackles when you turn the gain pot or the tone pot. Seems to be worse when just turned on.  Maybe it's the potentiometers need replacing? Anyone else had this problem?  I can't see that Marshall will supply just these parts.

I would like to repair it, as it is a great little amp, suits my needs well.

Hi

I’m trying to decide which amp to get. My ultimate goal is to get out there and start gigging. I love big, dumb rock songs and have more or less narrowed down my search to a JCM 800. Here’s where my dilemma comes in.

For the same price, I can get either 1990 JCM 800 (50 watt) and a 1960A cab of indeterminate year or the little SC20 amp and cabinet.

Since I want to start gigging out, I am leaning toward the full-sized amp, with worries that it might be too loud even. However, since most of my playing is at home, I like the idea of the lower powered SC20. The one I played sounded super good at around-the-house levels. I am worried it won’t suffice if I try to gig with it. I have never played through an 800. (Or any half stack, for that matter. Right now my main amp is a Deluxe Reverb.)

So I guess what I want to know is which one is the better option for me? Do I prioritize stage volume or home volume? Does anyone even need a big, loud amp nowadays, or is a smaller, miked-up amp better in the long run?

I have the original Marshall Stanmore. It's wired direcly to both a turn table and a CD Player. The sound recently began cutting out intermittenly. I hear a bit of static, the audio cuts out, and then a few seconds later, the sound comes back. I've been using the same setup for about a year with no issues.

Any ideas?

I bought a DSL1CR as a practice amp recently, sound was cutting out so sent back and bought another replacement DSL1CR from another vendor.  Received the replacement -- same issue, sound cuts out.  Goes from a 4 to a 1-- then back again... round and round we go..  Have done troubleshooting w/ cable & guitar (brand new Fender Telecaster) -- those aren't the issue.  Thoughts?  I hate to return again-- love the sound... with the caveat: when it works;)

Any one else hearsd of this issue/ how to rectify?

Thanks!

Hello and greetings Marshall.

I have a Code 100 Combo. For this price is a great Marshall sounding amp.

But!!

Is harsh, but i use an external 7 WAY EQ pedal in loop and the sound with it , will be realy useful.

I have a Boss Katana too and has in built EQ effect. This Marshall Code series is very close to real Marhsall amps, form my opinion i think it's closer that Katana.

Why not is in Marshall CODE an EQ pedal effect, or an switchable 7 or 10 way EQ option  ??

I think what is most missing from the Code series is a usable 7-10 way eq pedal. Would it solve the harshness, the fizzyness.

I think it could be a great practice combo. with a more original Marshall sound than any Katana.

Please Marshall, include an EQ pedal or a switchable 7- or 10 way EQ option in an update as soon as possible.

Please :) !

let this product be worthy of the Marshall brand, or products.

Thanks.( Sorry for my English:)).

Best Regards, Rob.

Hi all:

Love the code.  BUT had a couple of basic questions( I think).  THANKS for any answers the community may provide!

1)  Does creating my own preset overwrite the one I've selected?

- Is there a means to KEEP all 100 and simply add my own library or presets?

2) Is there a base preset that is the AMP in its essential or basic state from which I can build new presets?

I've come from a long line of Marshalls,  Most of which are the kind that you just turn knobs and make sounds!

While using the Marshall Gateway App on my iPhone 7 or SE (I'm assuming this happens on other iPhone models as well),  the "Playback" page automatically defaults to "Apple Music" when I want to add tracks to jam to with my Code 50 amplifier.

My question for Marshall Support is: Can you make the iPhone Gateway App allow selections of tracks from locations other than "Apple Music" on the "Playback" page?

It would be great to be able to select tracks from my other files like "One Drive" or "Files".  Your competitors like the Boss GT-1 and the Spark 40 allow tracks to be added from ANY location when using their jam-along features. Limiting your choice to "Apple Music" really limits the jam-along experience on your app.

Thank you for considering making this useful update to your iPhone app.

Always feel modeling amps lack the punch, the pick attack of an analog amp, but the CODE 100 does a good job, but it still sounds a bit like you are listening to a guitar track on a song instead of a live guitar performance.  Thats not a bad thing, the sound is smooth, it is clean, but it is different.   The cleanness of the sound is interesitng actually, the notes are far more distinct,  far less mushy and makes you play much cleaner.

Thi is in comparison to my IValve King 212 with messa boogie pre amp,  and 6L6  power valves.   Have had it years, but havent been able to get the solo tone I want out of it, it has always sounded harsh, though the messa boogie valves helped.  This is where the  CODE 100 excells, the solo tones are very clear with none of the noise, so tapping for example stantds out very nicely, whereas with the Peavey it was feeding back and very noisy at the levels needed to get any volume.

After a couple of days playing, the Plexi with gain is my preferd rythym sound and marshall fury with the reverb removed my prefered solo sound.

Not gigged it,  we are just a jamming group made up of ex band members and having a once a week laugh,  but I can imagine the amp would be fine in any pub type venue.

I will try it using the Peavey speakers over the weekend,   see what difference that makes.

Hello, I bought a Marshall Code 25 a few weeks back and it was working perfectly until I tried connecting it to a PC today using the USB port. The amp is just not showing up anywhere and the PC doesn't detect a new device either.

I've tried :

- Downloading the firmware update software (current version 1.44) to see if it would detect the amp (it did not)

- Using two different cables and two different PCs

- Restarting the amp and reconnecting the cable on both ends

Not sure what I'm doing wrong or what I should be doing next so help would be appreciated.
