Lot of hum from my new dsl5cr

Hello , I am new with an all valves amp.

I just received my new DSL5CR and, whatever the distance i am from the amp and the position and the cable used and or the room i am in my house, i still have a lot of hums on the ultra gain channel.

I can’t even reach half the volume without a lot of hum.

I am using a Fender deluxe black strat (mexican) and also an Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitars.

Is it normal?

Will a noise gate pedal fix the problem.

Hello Jean,

Regarding your DSL5CR you will hear some noise due to the gyrator circuit within the amplifier but if you feel it is too much we recommend that you take it back to the dealer so it can be checked over.

Kind Regards

Tx for your effort, but my question was « will a noise gate pedal fix the problem ».
I want your opinion before I buy one.
Best regards,
Jean

Mine doesn't hum, try pluging into a different circuit, you should not need a noise gate, If you have no problems with any other amp you may have to return it or have a tube amp doctor to look at it. I have mine about 6 months and it has just f***ed up, so I'll bring it to someone and see what happens. - Paul Galligan 19 Jun 2019 at 08:33 PM
