To use my 8-ohm cab with my DSL 40C, do I need to unplug the dedicated 16-ohm plug from the back of my amp? Thanks

Hello,

Regarding your question, the DSL40C can drive either 1x16 ohms ,1x8 ohm or 2x 16ohm cabinets. Therefore you can use your 8ohm extension speaker cabinet but not at the sametime as the internal speaker as the two together would have an overall impdedance of 5 ohms. To use your 8ohm cabinet you would unplug the internal speaker and plug the cabinet into one of the two sockets marked 8 ohm remebering to plug the internal speaker back into the 16ohms socket when not using the external cabinet.

The amplifier is not bad, it is loud for the apartment, but not critical, I rummaged a bit with the settings and it became normal. I am glad that the kit has a footswitch, there is a loop of effects. The sound is good. The country of manufacture is Vietnam, this is not pleasing. Overall satisfied.
