Marshall Tremelo 50W Serial T/A 1067E power up after 20 years

This amp has not been powered up for about 20 years. I have been advised to power it up slowly using a variac to protect the electrolytic capacitors.

Does this make sense or can I just switch it on?

Thanks to any old-timers who can answer this.
Cheers

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your comment. We would suggest the amp is checked over by an engineer before switching on, we can do this at our factory if you email contactus@marshall.com this can be arranged.
