I'm looking to purchase a used JCM 800 2203. The model number is M-2010-38-0161-2 RoHS. Is this a legitimate number and what does the RoHS mean?
The serial number is explained here (replace all three underbars with dots):

RoHS - Restriction of Hazardous Substances. For details try to google it yourself... :-)
As mentioned by Jacek - RoHS is Restriction of Hazardous Substances
In short, any electronic or electrical device that has lead based solder in it is marked with RoHS and basically means, don't throw it in the landfill because the lead could contaminate the ground water.
New assemblies having lead free solder may not be marked with this - but knowing how everything is controlled, they probably will be marked. :-)
