DSL40C Speaker Question

Hello, I purchased the DSL40C and MX212 Cabinet. I know the Speaker in the combo is 16-ohms. I also know the speakers in the MX212 are wired for 8-ohms. I know if I use the cabinet, I can't use the speaker in the combo together. My question is, has anybody ever put an 8-ohm speaker in the combo? I am thinking that two 8-ohm loads would give me a 3x12 config for extra beef! Would this work, and would the amp still sound just as good if I used it alone (to take to jam sessions) on the 8-ohm output? Thanks

We would not recommend switching the speaker in the DSL40C out for a speaker of incorrect impedance, as this may cause damage to the amp and speaker.

As I understand it, here are your choices:

A 16 ohm load in the 16 ohm jack, which renders the two 8 ohm jacks inoperative.

A single 8 ohm load in either one of the  two 8 ohm jacks.

Two 16 ohm loads, one in each of the two 8 ohm jacks. These are wired in parallel, so you end up with an 8 ohm load.
