How are the four custom speakers (8Ω, 50W) wired ― series or parallel ― inside the CODE™ CODE412 extension speaker cabinet?

Hello Jimmy,

The Code 412 is wired in series parallel to give you an overall impedance of 8ohms.

Do you mean that two of the speakers are wired in series ― and the other two speakers are wired in parallel? I would prefer to have all four these speakers wired in parallel ― to produce the tightest sound. - Jimmy Pratt 06 Nov 2019 at 11:09 PM
If you do this, the unit impedance will be 2Ω and your amp will die... - Jacek Klimkiewicz 07 Nov 2019 at 07:05 AM
Each pair of speakers are wired in series making 16ohms the two pairs are then wired in parallel to make 8ohms. If you put all four speakers in series it will make the cabinet 32 ohms if you put them all in parallel it will make them 2 ohms.

Prefer to have four 16Ω speakers ― all wired in parallel and operating at 4Ω ― or four 32Ω speakers ― all wired in parallel and operating at 8Ω ― or an extension cabinet with one single 8Ω speaker.

1960A, 1960B, 1960AV and 1960BV can work in 4Ω mode having 4x16Ω speakers wired in parallel. - Jacek Klimkiewicz 08 Nov 2019 at 03:27 PM
