CODE50 Speaker Upgrade

Hello.

I have a Code50 50W and i´m thinking of upgrading the speaker. One of the choices i´ve found was the Celestion F12-X200

Thing is: The Code50 is a 4 Ohm 50W amp, while this speaker is a 8 Ohm 200W. My question is how this would interfere in the sound / Volume of the amp?

you will see a power / volume drop of about 15%-20% so turn up your amp - 23 Apr 2019 at 05:24 PM

I upgraded my speaker to the F12-X200 and the results were great. The amp sounds much better and there was no noticeable loss of volume. I also added passive RCA outs to run to a PA. This amp is great for modding.

I just bought the newer (less expensive) F12M-150 speaker and am excited to see how my C50 will sound with it. - 05 Dec 2023 at 04:54 PM

I found a couple of comments from players saying they liked the sound of the F12M-150 a little better than the F12-X200. I don't guess I'll ever know since I don't have your speaker to compare to... haha - 05 Dec 2023 at 04:59 PM
