Hi everybody, no question but just a statement (just to show how satisfied I am with this amp, but also maybe to encourage other users): I LOVE THE CODE50!
I own two Code50's, one for rehearsels and one for gigs - so one is the clone of the other. Today I had a feeling I should "finetune" some of my already established presets due to a new guitar I recently bought. And what can I say? Everything worked as expected: The amp (sw-version 1.44) connected with the phone (iPhone XR, iOS 14.4, Gateway version 1.5), I was able to change presets via footswitch or phone, downloaded presets and edited them - as always absolutely no problems or issues.
Thanks to Marshall for an absolutely satisfying and reliable, easy to transport and always great sounding product! 'nuff said!
Hi,
owned a code 25 for a while now but only really started using it during lockdown but have to say I'm really impressed. I'm just using it for living room playing and connected to my DAW as a way of laying down ideas but seriously, it's REALLY good.
For context, I've played guitar for 27 years and working in live music has been my primary source of income (pre lockdown....) for around 17 years. I'm usually a live-sound engineer and tour manager and occasionally fill in the gaps with some guitar-teching. I'm uk-based but have international clients, mostly guitar-based, playing mostly academy sized venues but have done major festivals worldwide and one short stint of an arena tour. The point here is not to blow my whistle, simply to say I've spent a lot of time being exposed to all manner of amps and modelling.
I own a line 6 helix and while the CODE isn't as flexible with regards to I/O, I genuinely feel like it's amp-modelling, especially for crunch, fuzzy or blown out tones, blows the Helix out of the water. Not that I'm as likely to use metal tones or had much cause to tweak them but I've noticed those kind of presets can sound a little thin. Also, higher gain sounds in general could benefit from a graphic EQ somewhere in the modelling chain, as it can be prone to squeak at frequencies usually outside of a regular amps range, presumably because of the full-range nature of the cab.
So, my query is, is there any chance that the CODE range is likely to get any substantial firmware updates or maybe 2nd generation hardware that could bring additional functionality/Pro level durability and a decent footswitch... I'm impressed that you've managed to get that much functionality out of a mono-jack but a few extra switches or even just midi connectivity for use with after market footswitched to access would open the amp right up.
Personally, I'd love to see one capable of more complex I/O routing i.e. the ability to record your dry input to DAW over usb and similarly, route from the DAW to the amp input for re-amping.
Midi I/O and an xlr input with phantom and a decent sounding pre would make it a nice little hub for a solo recording setup.
Anyway, great work Marshall/Softube, really hope you develop the line further.
how to upload a preset from MyGateway to the Amp ?
... not to the Gateway library because this will then not be possible to control via footswitch.
there are also patches under marshallcode.tools from where a direct upload to the Amp is possible via USB.
however, not ideal if this would have to be done twice separately (?)
the library overview in MyGateway is ideal but I can´t find a way how to move presets from MyGateway onto the Amp.
Many thanks in advance for your help
-> meanwhile figured it out: drag & drop to Gateway Library, then in the App under the individual Preset, select both Amp + Library, press save.
While attempting to set up the footswitch (more help needed there), I somehow duplicated 01 So American over 92 19x12 and it is gone. I liked both of them and have been unable to get back 02, even with factory reset of the amp and footswitch.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Hi!
Can you advise please ? How can I configure two presets/chanels for one knob in the footswitches? I need to switch two presets with oneknob?
for example : Rhythm guitar to solo (different chanel with the addition of an effect through FX Loop) and back to the Rhythm mode?
Hi
I recently bought a Marshcall Code 50 and I have two old footswitches (a Behringer and a Boss Dual foot switch FS-6). All I want to be able to do is cycle between presets on the code. On both the footswitches the code only cycles backwards, and not forwards at all. Is there a setting on the code somewhere that I need to change so that I can cycle either way through the presets?
Much appreciated
Is there any option to change volume with the PEDL 90008 ?
I know that it is possible to change volume by editing different presets.
But I want to know if there is a way to change the volume with other methods.
Would be great if there were an FX to change volume in switch mode.
I was wondering if the creator of the KASHMIR preset would be interested in also creating the FLANGER part for KASHMIR using all the current preset settings (amp, cabinet, speaker etc) as a complimentary preset for the turnaround section of the song. I believe, from forums, that a preset will switch better (Marshall CODE footswitch) if the preset has the same amp, speaker and or cabinet setting as it takes away the millisecond delay of switching between amps in a particular preset. Look forward to your answer and or creation of said beasty.
Regards Kev
Can I save downloaded user presets to my footswitch and how???
Using the Code 50
Hi, I havent had any problems with my 2 Code100h that i run in stereo in my marshall 1960v cabs, in any way until now, besides the usual dirty pots. I am trying to save the "in amp" tuner as a patch or an effect on a patch as the instructional video states. I do have the upgraded footswitch. The only way ive found to acceas the tuner by footpedal is by turning one of the switch mode choices into the tuner, which makes every single patch have the tuner as the switch mode option. Kinda defeats the purpose. Is there any way to set the tuner as a patch by itself or as a switch mode option on just 1 patch and not all of them?
I'm noticing a significant volume difference between the presets I have programmed on the footswitch in A2 & A3, is there a way to adjust this so the volume remains the same when switching between A2 & A3 ?
Hi please refer to this previous question to help explain the background to my question: https://my.marshall.com/forum/question/1479/marshall-code-100---should-it-have-come-with-a-2-way-foot-switch?filterType=recent&myActivity=True
Basically I bought a Marshall code 100 (no it's not 100H or 100C just a plain 100). It was out of its box and on display but discounted by about $180 because it had a slight dent in the base. The store rep claimed it had not been used. I bought it due to the price but after a few months I realised it should have come with a 2 button footswitch. I then raised this fact with the store and they agreed to supply me with the one that should have come with it. It has been about 6 months since they promised me they would replace and every time I ring up they come up with some bullshit excuse like "oh our suppliers on the other side of the country claim it is not sold as a spare and they have to order it in and they are not receiving any new stock of this item until Feb".
So Feb has come and gone so I am about to ring them and vent my frustrations on them. Then I thought maybe I could get the PEDL 91009 foot switch instead of the PEDL-91010, at a discounted price (perhaps to the value of the cheaper switch that should have come with it), as I am told it is much better. As I have never had or even used a foot switch and am completely clueless on them I have a few questions:
Does the basic PEDL-91010 footswitch only allow you to switch to the next preset up or down on the preset list of 100 presets? Or can you jump from like preset number 4 to preset number 98? If it only allows you to switch to the next one up or down does the 91009 model allow you to switch between any two presets on my list? Does the 91009 model allow you to program more than 2 presets to switch between when playing a song?
Finally, one responder to my other post mentioned that the Code 100 only comes with a basic 2 way footswitch and that the PEDL 91010 is an optional extra. But this contradicts what others were saying (eg that it is the PEDL 91010 footswitch that it comes with).
Anyway I am confused and need all this cleared up so I am fully armed when I next call the store.
So about a year ago I got a footswitch for my Code 50, and when i first got it, it started banking backwards on it's own. I was able to stop it...until now. The worst part of it, is when i go to use the amp's tuner, it immediately exits because it thinks the button is being pressed. When it began a few days ago, I was able to press the bank button to increase the bank and counteract the issue, but now the bank button stopped working. Maybe I pressed it too hard or too much or something. I cant remember how I fixed it last time or whether or not the bank button worked, but all I know is this time it might be done for good. If anyone knows of this issue or has had it happen to themselves, please let me know how I can fix it. I dont remember all the presets that were saved to it, but I can remember a couple. Please help!!!
Hello, I got a code head and also the programable foot controller that I havent connected yet. My question is about the 30 programable presets. does this mean I can have total 130 presets or 70 factory presets and 30 custom presets.
I have a Code 100 and want to be able to add auto wah on top of a preset with another (Overdrive) pre-fx set and use the (4 way) footswitch to switch it in and out - can this be done ?
Hi guys i have a Code 50 Amp and footswitch. i have recently started to having a problem. when i am on a patch and hold in the Selector on the Switch for instance if i am in Bank B3 and hold down the B3 switch, you enter a mode which you switch off FX, Delay and reverb. i have notiched that when i go into any bank like that and want to go back out to choose another patch my amp buttons and knobs & footswitch is non responsive and i have to switch the amp on and off for it to respond again, this is very anyoing. any feedback on what the problem might be
I was dicking about with tones, as you do, and when I meant to save my custom tone to my footswitch, and accidentally saved DSL Clean Chorus to #11 on the amp, Some Dely For You Too. This preset just happened to be one of my favorites. Is there anything I can do about it?

I recently purchased a new code 100 which was a display model. They didn't have the box for it or the owner's manual. I subsequently downloaded the manual off the internet. On one of the pages concerning the front panel functions it talks about the F/C jack socket and mentions "connect the supplied 2-way footswitch" but I never got one with it. Has anyone recently purchased this model and did it come with a 2 way footswitch for scrolling through presets? If so I will try and get one off the shop for free. If they argue their way out of it are they expensive to buy separately? **Update to this is that the manual I have downloaded has code 100 and code 100h on the cover so maybe the footswitch comes only with the 100h?
