Hi, I've just bought a DSL5C combo that sounds fabulous.

Just to know when I will have to make tubes replacement, can you tell me:

  • - if the 12bh7 power tube needs a bias adjustment when replaced ?
  • - if the ECC83 preamp tubes need to be balanced ones or not ?

Thanks

I just wanted to ask why the amp head is in standby mode when the switch is in the off position, rather than the on?  Rather confusing, and seems others have run into this as well but with no real answer. Or is something wired wrong on some heads?  Full playing power comes up with  the standby switch set to on, which seems backwards, so I'm asking what the reason is for this.  Thanks!

Hi,
I've 2 old marshall 1912 speaker cabinets and 2 questions:
1) how can I remove the front panel for cleaning the grid?
2) there's a dedicated cover for the 1912 cabinets?
Thanks a lot

Hi Folks, it seems like a good number of the presets have this wierd thing where the low E sounds really dead and overwhelming, like one giant "PLUNK". I need to turn B down to almost 0 in some cases. This is mostly for single coils which is strange since all other strings seem to be brighter as youwould expect with SCs, just the low E has this strange sonic sig. Same guitars sound fine on my Quilter, DR, even my little Vox mini. I can "tone" it out for the most part. Is anyone else experiencing the same symptoms?

Thanks!

I have an iPad 2 with 64 GigB and G3, using iOS v.7.1.

Downloaded Gateway. Pairing not possible most of the time, even when I put the iPad right on top of the Code 25 amp.

When paired, the Gateway software does not recognize the pairing and does not show a Bluetooth device  indication on the bottom left corner. Go to set up, menu shows no Bluetooth connection even after the pairing was successful. Hit the Scan button but, nothing happens.

Please help. Thanks!

I have a 2000 JCM 2000 DSL.  I've read much about bias drift being a problem on some of the early ones due to a defective PCB main board.  Are the replacement boards available commercially free of this defect?  Is there a specific issue of board to get in order to be free of the problem?  I don't have the issue presently on my amp but am considering buying a board to have as a backup.

Thanks!

I own a mg100 hcfx which I am very happy with. Although it didn't come easy. It was anemic sounding out of the box but with a boost and eq in front sounds like it should.(Also a noise gate run in x pattern in front and loop quieted the noisy mg) Question: where about do other users of this amp or similar channel switchers prefer their channel volumes? I know it's function is to equalize volume between channels but is it best to equalize them towards full volumes? Half volumes? Thanks!

Team,

I'm moving back from the US to Europe and would like to take my favourite Marshall amps with me: DSL40c and JVM-1H.

The different voltage I can handle with an external transformer. The wattage is no issue, my transfomer can handle up to 2kW. The issue is the frequency,  going down from 60Hz to 50Hz. Would this be an issue with these amps?

Thanks,  Chris.
