Hi

My DSL 20 HR is completely silent when effect loop is in standard active setting.
No sound goes through. Only a very very silent cracking.
when I switch the effect look off to bypass via the foot switch, the amp will give out the regular sound, of course without any pedals that are in the loop

i ruled out broken chords. It is the same without anything in the effect loop at all.

any suggestions?

thanks a lot

I've had my dsl 401 for about 12 years. In the United States. From the beginning, it would lose power, go silent, but then come back. Now, it has gone completely silent, won't come back, and I can't find a certified Marshall repair listed anywhere in the United States. All my searches, including on Marshall's own website, state it is for UK customers only. This issue is common with this amp. Can you point me in the right direction? I am not an engineer.

Hi

My dsl 20hr is a great sounding amp, I have just started using the supplied footswitch, but noticed a problem. The tone changes when footswitch is plugged in, the tone is clearer, slightly louder. When unplugged the tone goes slightly darker. Also when plugged in the tone is better, more crunchy. But when I engage the fx loop, again the tone darkens, as if throwing a blanket over the speakers. I run a delay and reverb in the loop, checked all cables etc all fine. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone,

So I've had my dsl 40c for awhile now and I absolutely love it.  However, One small issue came up awhile and i could use some help tracking down the right part. A couple weeks ago one of the fuses blew in the amp head, and after going to severa music stores,  hardware stores, home depot,  even automotive stores, i cannot find the right exact fuse for the amp. They're all 500ma, which are pretty common, but if you get one from a hardware store it just blows again immediately, because as I've noticed, the fuses that came in the amp have a thicker wire than anything I can find. Even having trouble locating the right ones online and there is absolutely NOTHING in the way of fuses on sweetwater, if anyone has any idea on how I can track down the right fuse, it would be greatly appreciated!

Manual says "Connect a single speaker cabinet here for the DSL1HR head". Is it means I can't use cabinet with two 8ohm speakers in series?

Help! My DSL 100 head worked fine, set it to STB, switched it back on low output was dead and very little output on high. All valves are lit up.  I run it through a Marshall 2x12 jsm900lead-1936 cab 8ohms. Has anybody had a similar problem?

Amp is a little over a year old was fine then past few weeks after warmup the volume would dump. All cables, inputs were checked and new JJ tubes put in which seemed like it fixed the issue However when I engaged the Tone Shift button the volume dumped again and when manipulating this button it caused the amp to crackle and seemed to be shorting out the power which intern was dumping the volume.. My tech replaced the Tone Shift curcuit but still when pushing the button in it causes the same issue, we are at a lost..and frustrated...Any Comments or Suggestions greatly appreciated

Looking to confirm, when using headphones on 5 Watt, you disconnect the speaker correct?  Also, does this need to be in low power only or can it be in normal power for headphone use?

Which speaker jack is for the 8 ohm,  the one in the very center or the one next to the 1x16 where the cabinet pluggs in? Their are 5 jacks, so counting from left to right which one is the 8 ohm jack ?  Thank you.

Hi! I recently bought my Marshall DSL 100 HR. There is a silent recording mode. If my understanding is correct when the amp is in a standby mode only preamp section is active. Can I use my amp in standby mode for silent recording at home without a load/cab?

I would monitor it via my soundcard. Just to be clear I would not activate the 100/50 power amp section only stay in STB mode.

Could this cause any harm to the amp?

Thanks.

I really want a Marshall amp; not because of the name on the front, but I know all of my favourite music was recorded with one. My favourite album of all, for example, was recorded with an old JCM2000 DSL100 (which is obviously not for sale anymore).

This led me to find the new DSL range, but I've heard bad things; particularly about the DSL40C which has lots of reports of fizziness. It also sounded pretty unpleasant to me on YouTube reviews.  exchange rates online

I'm told JCM800 is a quintessential of sorts, and I know many music I like which was recorded with one, but I don't want to spend that much money, and apparently it's very loud.

I've heard terrible things about SLX, and the I don't know if the MA/MGX ranges will achieve what I'm looking for.

So I just don't know what to get dude. My main sound is a high gain rocky sound which is really smooth rather than dirty and sounds really emotive... like from the song "The Kill" by Thirty Seconds to Mars.

My budget is about £600.

Hi. Is there anyway of Marshall making a low watt emulated preamp such as the dsl 1 for the code. I was wondering if this would make my code 25 a more useable bedroom amp as at the moment even adjusting levels in app its hard to achieve usable evening sound levels.

Cheers

Hello.

I just purchased the dsl40cr and I think it is acting strange.

When I put the amp in the low power mode, I think it sounds normal. But when I switch it to the high power mode, without changing any settings on the amp or the guitar, the volume decreases.

I'm not sure if this is normal??

I play on low volume with the master volume on about 1~2 and adjust the channel volume for the most part.

The volume level sounds similar when the channel volume is on 2 (low power) vs 8 (high power).

I would think that high power = higher volume?

I've read that the volume difference may not be a lot but to actually decrease going from low to high power mode seems strange.

The volume level responds much more sensetively when it is on the low power mode. When it is on high power, it does not respond as sensetively. It gets louder as you increase the volume but not as much as when it is on low power mode.

Is this normal??

Hi. I recently purchased a DSL40 CR and am wanting the 6 button footswitch so I can use all of the amps capabilities. Is the PEDL 91016 available yet in the US? My local Marshall dealer says that these have been back ordered for months. Currently they are telling me there is a 2 to 3 week shipment delay. What is the availability of these?

So the gig me and my band are about to play is getting closer and closer. 10 more days and I'll be on a stage again after 7 years. Seven years of playing by myself in my bedroom.

I got to the point where my approach would be to set my amp to a crunchy sound ala AC/DC, then kick on my SD-1 with the volume pushed and the gain turned up just a wee bit to tighten the low end and saturate a bit more. Use an EQ pedal in the loop to boost the volume for solos.

Now last rehearsal I turned up with only my guitar and my EQ pedal for the volume bump for solos. I couldn't be bothered to carry my heavy ass all analogue pedalboard with me and wanted to see how things would go. My JCM 2K DSL 100 was at the rehearsal space waiting.

Without my SD-1 I had to turn up the gain on the amp quite a bit more and change the EQ as well, cut more bass, kick in more mids and I was obviously missing some saturation.

So whilst it was harder to play and I lacked the distortion I also noticed that the guitar sounded way better and I cut through the mix easily. My other guitar player uses an ENGL Powerball MK2 through an oversized ENGL cab with V30s without any pedals, I have my DSL through a Marshall cab with G12-75s (cab belongs to another guitar player sharing the rehearsal room with us)

Now the obvious problem here is that I am competing with a V30 loaded cab whilst using the mid scooped G12T-75 Celestions, but if you ignore that for a minute my observation is the following:

Without a boost pedal my guitar sounds bigger and fits into the mix better. I have to be more accurate with my technique and my playing has to be tighter. More volume means less need for saturation and compression that a boost pedal usually provides yet it asks for a tighter picking hand.

I guess what I am trying to say or rather ask: Have you had the same experience? A boost pedal is brilliant when playing by yourself to get an amazing guitar sound, once the whole band is involved the pedal only buries you in the mix? xbxx xnxxxnxx

I think I finally understand how desirable it is to have an amp that does not need any additional help from an OD pedal. My DSL can sound as heavy as a Mesa Rectumfrier, but only when pushed by a TS-9 or SD-1. With the band it sounds better when no pedals are involved. pornhub

I came to the conclusion that I need to toss the gadgets and work on my technique more. Only use the boost pedal for solos and get to the point where my right hand will sqeeze a tight low end even out of a JTM 45. porn hun

Or I'll just bring my V30 loaded cab to the gig, kick on my SD-1 for my rhythms too and see how that goes :p biqle youporn pornhub

What are your observations folks? Do tell, cheers! live-sex
