Hi !

i was wondering, is it possible to use MIDI via a bluetooth connection ?

In fact i'd like to use a simple DAW application on my Android tablet to make some music using my Marshall Code. My Code amp connect to my tablet and the Gateway app runs nice, no problem. In the DAW app (which is for now BandLab), i see an option about a "Connected MIDI Devices" and my Code doesnt appear there. So i asked myself if the MIDI interface was really available with Bluetooth ? Or is there something special to configure or install ?

thanks in advance !

I can connect to audacity with no problems. However I bought a professional version of Presonus Studio One. Been trying for days to get it to work. I have seen that others are having the same issue. It doesn't look like anyone has even made an attempt to answer. I would think you would want to have your amp heard on proffesional recordings. Or at least help those that bought your amp.

The connection is usb cable from amp to PC. This is the error we recieve.

Hello-

I used to have no problem connecting my Code 50 with my Mac via USB. All of a sudden neither my computer or DAW will recognize it. I switched out the usb cable, did a factory reset of my amp, tried to update the software, but I can't get the mac to recognize the amp for the life of me. Is there a more extensive reboot I don't know about? Very curious as it used to work just fine and I can't think of anything I did to jeopardize it. Thank you.

A hardware issue prevents connecting my CODE25 practice amp with Gateway via Bluetooth on my PC (Nox / Windows 10). Gateway freezes at 'Turning on Bluetooth' message (the Bluetooth hardware in my PC is faulty). Can Gateway be set to connect via USB instead as a device-level default? My CODE25 amp does connect to Gateway via Bluetooth on my Android smartphone; but the phone's screen is too small to use comfortably, so USB connection to PC is needed for its much larger (I have 26" to 46" PC displays available) displays. Being severely nearsighted and over 50 years old, my options are limited.

Hi,

I just bought a Origin 50H head as a spare for my DSL 100hr while it is in the shop. The problem I'm having is I can only plug one speaker cab at a time, one is a 16 ohm cab with 4 12's, the other is a 8 ohm with 2 12 inch V30's. when they are both pluged in only the 8ohm 2 12's work, if I unplug the 2 12 cab then the 4 12's work. Is this normal or should I return it?

Thanks for your time.

I have an inbound JTM studio and I wanted to get a few extra pairs of 5881 tubes to have on hand. What tube types are acceptable for this amp besides the 5881's? For example can I use KT66's?

thanks,

Hi Marshall,

I just purchased the DSL20HR and 1912 lead cabinet, which is great. However, there are late nights that I want to play through my headphones.

I read the manual and I read the previous questions on here about headphone use. There's conflicting instructions and support advice between the manual and what I have read here.

Can you please clarify step by step how to safely plug a set of headphones into the emulated output jack of the DSL20HR? The manual says to "NEVER use the DSL20HR...without a speaker load", however,  advice here from the Marshall team had stated to unplug the cabinet from the amp, plug in the headphones, and then not to forget to plug the speaker back in when done using the headphones.  This is conflicting and I am afraid to try either.

Please help. Thanks

Hi,

Is it acceptable/safe to connect the headphone/ line out socket of the Code 25 to a power amp input jack of another guitar amplifier, In my case, a peavey bandit 75, using a screened guitar lead. The peavey has a 1x12" 8 ohm speaker. I find the Peavey 12" speaker is alot warmer and fuller than the Code's 1x10" hence the question.

Thanks for any advice.

I've never the bias checked on this amp. Had to after I had a certified technician swap out the speaker and power tubes for the first time.  He was getting very low readings. If he maxed out the bias adjustment knobs, he was getting a maximum of 31 mV or 32 mV on both sets of testing ports.  He could not adjust any further.

Interesting, I thought, so he put back the old tubes and speaker back (and he tried a combination of new speaker/old tubes, new tubes/old speaker).  ALL were relatively the same.  The highest reading he could achieve was around 33 mV.  He used multiple multimeters, so I'm quite confident that the readings were accurate.

The older tubes were the original Marshall EL34's. The new tubes are JJ EL34's.  It has the original V-type speaker which I was trying to change to a 8-ohm Eminence Texas Heat (8-ohm jack was being used).  The tech is still investigating, but I figured I would ask  on the forum to see anyone had ideas as to the cause of low mV reading/adjustment on the bias.

Thanks!

I own a studio classic, vintage and mini jubilee -- I believe that they are all cathode biased and do not require any re-biasing when replacing power amp tubes (using matched pairs). Can anyone confirm? And I am assuming the new jtm20 is the same.

thanks,

Hi there,

I have a Middleton speaker and I was wondering whether there's a way to use that to set up in stereo mode, buying another one.

I've seen there should be the way using other Marshall speakers (like Action II or other) but via app on a mobile phone.

Any one can give me some hint about how to realize a stereo set up to listen music from pc/mac using my Middleton speaker or, in case, other Marshall speakers?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Cheers,

Danilo

Hi,

I understand that the Code 50 can send/receive MIDI over a USB connection.

Is there a MIDI Implementation document somewhere so that I can see what commands do what?

Thanks

I turned my amp off, then on again: nothing!
I tried changing the plug, leaving it on for a while, still nothing! It doesn't work anymore.
Is there a fuse?
What can I do?

Hello all.
I purchased a Woburn II online that was described as "new".
first, the back of the unit has no writing on it al all.
just black.
As soon as I plug it in it powers on.
Pulling the power lever does nothing.
both Bass and Treble knobs work.
The volume knob does not. It shows it's at 75% volume.
the button that changes from Bluetooth to other inputs is not lit and holding it down does nothing.
I tried a hard reset but no change.
Any help would be appreciated.
thank you in advance

Hello,

I am wanting to run the 1960AX cabinet with my 2555X Silver Jubilee, since the power handling capability is listed as 100w for the cabinet, would the head be too much for it in 100w mode? What if I ran it as a full stack with a 2551BV in 100w mode? I just want to make sure that I don't blow any speakers or my amp. What is the best way to run this cabinet with the full size silver jubilee?

Thanks!

Hi,

When will the next Code %0 FW update be available.

Will it address the common issue of the Code 50 main speaker cutting out?

Based on what others have written and use to WA the issue, it really seems to be a Firmware hiccup that causes the controller to enter a weird state.

Please comment on what Marshall is doing to resolve this issue.

Thank You and Best Regards,

TedL.

Hi, I bought the above amp as a standby should my JMD1 bow out. I've had the HCFX about 5 years and never had to use it. However, the issue is the gain/eq/volume controls do nothing in either preset or manual mode. All else (FX/buttons and master) controls are fine. I've reset the amp several times with no change. I'm an electronics engineer and don't mind getting my hands dirty and prod about with a scope or meter. I've had a look around, but nothing obvious. Any help you could give would be appreciated.
