Hi everyone,

I bought the new DSP module and plugged it into my Code 25. Everything seemed to be fine,

However, when I turned it on the code went into bootloader mode and said "chk usb". I inserted a cable and my PC saw it saying "connected". Still neither the marshall site not the PC application provide with possibility to update. The site shows no information and the PC app says that the last firmware version is installed and cannot reinstall it. When press reinstall button nothing happens.

I tried Mac, MS Edge and other browsers, nothing works

Any ideas?

Hi all,

I bought my Code 100 in Australia, where the voltage is 220 V and the amp only works with 50Hz as indicated on the back of it (unlike many other products that work with both 50/60 Hz).

Now that I have moved to the US, I am not able to use it anymore! I purchased a 110 v to 220 v step up transformer, which is fine, but cannot change the frequency from US's 60Hz to 50Hz to safely turn on the amp!

Frequency converters are like $1000 or so, so definitely don't worth it!

Is it possible to request Marshall's company itself to change the power board or something to make it work normally in the US without transformers, converters, etc.?

Would it be safe to just use the step up tarnsformer and ignore the frequency (Hz) difference?

Really appreciate any suggestions or guidance,

Thank you in advance!

I have a Marshall DSL40CR. I have checked the amps bias 5 days in a row and every day it's lower than what I have set it to. I was told bias in 40 watt mode should be around 35. When I set it to that on the first day and played...it sounded excellent. I put it in standby and powered off. The next day I turned it on with standby on and waited around 5-10 minutes. When I went to play it sounded really off. So I decided to check the bias and 1 tube was at 30 and the other 33. I reset both to 35.

The next day after that I had to set it yet again because it was 30/31. The next day after that the same thing lol.

Would this be an Amp issue or Tube issue? Once I set the tubes to 35...plays and sounds great the entire time I play. However, if I shut the amp off and come back later the amp bias is always lower.

Can the foot switch be programmed to not remember settings on each channel, only the basic pre loaded ones? Meaninig that if it remembers that I had reverb on channel 2 of the clean sound, I dont want it to turn reverb on next time I cycle through to that channel.

I recently purchased a Code 25 and uploaded some presets to it. When I first select the preset it sounds great, but if I go to another one for a little bit and cycle back, the sound is completely different. What could cause this? The only thing I'll change when playing is the master volume. It typically gets very boxy with a lot of bass and lose mid/treble sound. I have to turn it off then on to get it back.

Hi,

A few months ago (Oct 2022), i buy in Reverb a Marshall Valvestate Bi Chorus 8280 and when i turn on, all feels ok, but one day i note only work one speaker. I change the cables and the other speaker are fine and i think the problem was in the output jack.

Finally, i found a tech who tell me he can check it and repair. When the amp is ready to go, i pay and check it in their local store and i notice a weak sound, but i thinked it was the room. The L and R speakers out works now but the problem comes when i push the chorus and the volume rise and have more body.

The guy tell me is because the amp only works in stereo when chorus is on (great sound and body), and in mono (sound lack and low volumen) when put off, but i don't believe it and that's why I'm looking for an answer here.

P.D. When i receive the amp, the first thing i do, is change the valve, so this is not the problem. If i disconected one speaker (L or R), sounds good and the chorus doesn´t affect the tone.

Please help me.

Hi Everyone,

I bought a Marshall Studio Vintage Head in US where we have 110V voltage and 60Hz frequency. If I want to use that amp in Italy, where the voltage is 220V and 50Hz frequency, is it okay if I only change the currently mounted (US-rated) fuse? Or do I need to get a transformer? I am not sure if the amp is only rated for 110V / 60Hz...I like to think that it was built for a range of V and Hz that works for Italy / Europe as well, being made in UK.

If the fuse is the only mod I have to do, then I can just use a campatible power cord to plug it in?

Forgive my ignorance, and thanks in advance.

I just purchased a 1999 JCM2000 DSL 50 in mint condition .  It worked for an hour great no issues.

Turned everything off and came back later to find the following:

Channel led lights do not light.

Pedals in the effects loop have no effect.  Just had a Fortin Zuul in the loop.

Cannot change the channel with footswitch nor the front panel channel button.

I do get good signal out of the cab but am stuck on the lead channel.

All the tone stack controls work fine.

I can change between lead 1 and lead 2.

I have pulled the chassis and inspected fuses and all seem good.

Nothing looks burnt on the boards nor did I find any loose connections.

I removed all connections so only the cab was connected and have same issue.

Any suggestions before I take it?

I thought the effects loop would have still worked being I get signal out of the cab.

Very confused as I have never seen something like this before.

My Marshall AMP not working. Please help :-)

Hello,

I own a Marshall JVM 215c. I purchased this when I was living in Portsmouth. I didn't have much of a chance to use it as I was also studying for a degree at the time. I then moved up North. So 7 years later I'm in a position to crack back on with guitar (finally).

So I dust off my JVM 215c. Turn it on. Nothing happens. There is sorta a thump sound when I turn the power on. But then nothing.

Does this sound like a valve issue? And if so, is it easy to fix myself? Or does this amp need a professional to look at it?

Kind Regards,

Lee

Hi there!

I have recently brought the Marshall Code Footswitch a few weeks ago and everything was going really well with it until today. I got it out today and set everything up ready for some practice and usually when I play I may turn delay etc off or on. But when I wanted to change the effects using the 1,2, and 3 buttons it wasn't doing what it's functioned to do. As if i pressed 1, all modes would be turned on or off but i only wanted the Disortion pedal to be on or off. It's quite hard to put into words but Ive got a video of it so it makes more sense but i can only upload photos on here. Let me know asap if there is anything i can do to fix it.

Best Wishes,

Charlie
