Hello Everyone,

I bought the Marshall code 100 Head as a second hand after watching the positive reviews of it, and I really liked the sound and its features!

I plugged it to a 1 x 12 Cabinet and it works good except for my big disappointment with the hissing white noise that i was getting even when the master volume knob on the amp is turned all the way down.

I tried every simple solution that i could come with, including turning off the computer in the room, I tried resetting the Amp to factory settings,  I even installed the new firmware from the marshall website.  but none solved this issue.
Does anyone know the solution for this problem?

Thank you very much in advance

I have a silver jublie reissue and when i plug in the footswitch the red light stays on on the amp. even when the knob is pushed in and pulled out,  the led light on the footswitch turns on and off but wont do any switching. any idea what the problem could be?

Hi

I recently started re using one of my loop pedals into my Marshall mg50 CFx and for some reason the pedal refused to work and after I gave up trying I’ve had a few changes through the amp such as the tone sounding different and my tuner on my pedal still playing sound when should be muted any suggestions on what to do?

Hi, I'd want to know if disconnecting the speaker on a 20w Origin head would activate the standby (so this won't damage the amp) even if then I go through the send to an audio interface and not returning to the amp through the return or anything else (and so NOT using the di out). In fact I would like to use my favorite cab+microphone+power amp simulator and then connect it to the interface and listen with my headphones on and I think it would be impossibile and harmful to the sound to add another cabinet simulation to the already-present One in the di out (right?) and so I would exit from the send.

2 another simple questions:

could i do this with a combo, too? In that case, how do I disconnect the speaker?

The last one: if I exit from the send, I'll take the preamp signal, right? And if I exit from the di out will I have the preamp signal (with the cab simulation) or will it just be the guitar signal with the cab simulation only (I assume I won't anyway have the power amp too)?

Sorry for my bad english and for the ignorance😅

Hi, I havent had any problems with my 2 Code100h that i run in stereo in my marshall 1960v cabs, in any way until now, besides the usual dirty pots.  I am trying to save the "in amp" tuner as a patch or an effect on a patch as the instructional video states. I do have the upgraded footswitch.  The only way ive found to acceas the tuner by footpedal is by turning one of the switch mode choices into the tuner, which makes every single patch have the tuner as the switch mode option. Kinda defeats the purpose. Is there any way to set the tuner as a patch by itself or as a switch mode option on just 1 patch and not all of them?

Hi,

I'm a fairly new user, and have not delved into the software on the Code 50 too much yet, but had a question about user presets.   Since there are 100 factory presets loaded, and it doesn't look like there's anywhere else to store additional presets, I'm guessing I'd have to delete or change factory presets to load any of my own.   I know there's 5 or 6 factory presets that I find unusable and don't mind changing those, but it would be nice to have 30 or 40 empty patch spaces so I could load my own sounds.

Is there updated software I can load onto the Code 50 to let me do this or am I stuck with having to change factory presets?

Thanks for any info

Hey all,
First of all, some background information. I have been playing classical guitar for 2-3 months I would say, and I believe I have passed absolute beginners' stage. Yet, I have no interest in playing classical guitar (was playing just because I had one spared by my cousin), so I'm gonna buy an electric guitar fairly soon. However, the problem is, my taste is a little bit wide. I love blues, rock, metal and also jazz. I am imagining a guitar that is capable of sounding like Joe Bonamasa, Dream Theater, Europe, Opeth (even Opeth is wide enough to require more than one guitar I guess, but financial concerns...), Alter Bridge at the same time. I know, I know; at least something close to that. So far, I believe closest call is Yamaha Pacifica 112 series (since budget is my concern), but there seem to be hell of a lot of options. Also I consider buying Blackstar ID: Core 10 V2 as amplifier based on its good references all over the web, but not sure if it suits my playstyle. Not sure if anything, at least for limited budget, fits my styles. Even if not, plase share if you have close calls. Thanks in advance

Hi all:

Love the code.  BUT had a couple of basic questions( I think).  THANKS for any answers the community may provide!

1)  Does creating my own preset overwrite the one I've selected?

- Is there a means to KEEP all 100 and simply add my own library or presets?

2) Is there a base preset that is the AMP in its essential or basic state from which I can build new presets?

I've come from a long line of Marshalls,  Most of which are the kind that you just turn knobs and make sounds!

Just bought a code, flicking through the presets and I started pushing buttons (as you do) and seem to have lost “Soulful Lead” Preset 99.. it looks like I’ve overwritten it with Plexi Classic.

I don’t understand the “Presets” up there yet and not sure how to even call up the preset never mind reconfigure it..

Sorry, bit of an idiot.

Hi. Just wondering if there might be any plans or capabilities for post FX, maybe in a future firmware update? Using the delay, curruently it's not possible to set it for just one delay repeat. and have that repeat be at unity gain, or as loud as the source note. Also, we all know that true chorus FX sound SO much more lush in a post configuration. Thank you.

I have been using my El84 20/20 with a 2x12 1936 cab in stereo for 5 years.

Resently the right side has started to  intermitently  go quite compared to left.

Ive had it looked at by my local repair shop but they cant find the issue

and I ve changed the power tubes on the right side only to see if that sorts it.

It didnt.

I cant find much about the same problem online so I guess its not common.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Hi, I have a Marshall Code 50, purchased in the US in 2016. I moved to Germany by the Dec. of 2017 and for whatever reason it stopped working. The PSU was replaced and the latest firmware at that time installed (repair done at Musik Meyer).

It worked fine until today, when the bluetooth is not connecting anymore. Any of my devices with bluetooth can detect the amp. I already tried installing the latest firmware, reseting to factory settings, "last resort" process on troubleshooting guide.

How can I get this issue fixed?

For a couple of years I have owned a Code25 and a Code100. And I'm very happy.

I understand the criticism of Marshall's patches, but for me it's no problem. I have simply never used any of them. It was enough with one try and I realized that I have to find the right sound myself.

Only once have I found a patch that fits my guitars directly. It was SCJM800 SLF, but in that patch everything goes to eleven.

It is far as I can see some extremely important things to think about.

First of all, the settings differ a lot between the guitars, I guess because it is a digital amplifier. A perfect setting for a Les Paul can be useless for a Stratocaster etc.

I myself have played on the amps with a Les Paul, a Stratocaster and a Telecaster. And each guitar requires its own settings. This is not strange, a consequence of how the amplifier is designed.

Another crucial thing is the height of the microphones. There you have to test yourself to get a good sound, especially single coil may require adjustment of the microphone height. Height adjustment gives enormously much more effect than on a tube amplifier.

In general, I can say that my sounds are closer to the original with both precence and resonance quite loud. In addition, the Compressor helps quite well.

In short: Since Code is a digital amplifier, it obviously works completely differently than a tube amplifier. It is not possible to fix good sound for a Gibson and then think that it will automatically sound the same on a Fender.

All this applies to JTM45, Plexi, JCM800 and Classic American. I have not tested the rest so carefully.
