The above amp loses power after 5 to 10 minutes of play and I get reverb even with the control in the off position. This is with the volume and master at half and on clean. In overdrive it does the same though I ocassionally get chorus or a sort of hammered repeat, It has been checked by engineers at Marshall who found no fault in any mode although I have heard from a reliable source that there have been these sort of problems before and the suggestion was to do with the switches. As i had to send this back via the dealer more than 200 miles away and back to marshall, I wouldn`t want to do it again with the same result even though it`s under warrasnty.
Hi there,
Since mid '90 I play a JTM30 1x12 + matching C312 1x12 cabinet. How does that compare to the new ST20H Studio + ST212 Studio? Does anybody have an objective opinion for my question? I read, hear and see a lot of good comments on the new ST20 Studio series and am wondering if it would be worth selling my stuff and buy the new amp and cab.
Kind regards,
Please could Marshall and Softube create a new Amplifier with new effects and new improved amps and speaker Cab's..... Maybe call it... CODE-X....
or something like that...
I own three Marshall code's they are incredible.... Please I think Marshall and Softube are the best thing since Peanut and Jelly.... please continue this great pairing...
Thanks Allen Perez

Hello. I recently just purchased a Marshall DSL40CR amplifier and was wondering what channel I should use when playing with my JH-F1 Fuzz Face turned on ? For additional context/information I have a Stratocaster that comes with very low output pickups ( 5.5-5.8k ) and will only be using a Wah pedal in conjunction with the fuzz face.
Hello
I am trying to find out some information on a guitar amp. My father recently passed away and left an amplifier. Due to space constraints im sadly unable to keep it and was looking for a bit of information so it can head to a good home.
It is a master model MK2 50w, serial number 00195L.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Hi Everyone,
I bought a Marshall Studio Vintage Head in US where we have 110V voltage and 60Hz frequency. If I want to use that amp in Italy, where the voltage is 220V and 50Hz frequency, is it okay if I only change the currently mounted (US-rated) fuse? Or do I need to get a transformer? I am not sure if the amp is only rated for 110V / 60Hz...I like to think that it was built for a range of V and Hz that works for Italy / Europe as well, being made in UK.
If the fuse is the only mod I have to do, then I can just use a campatible power cord to plug it in?
Forgive my ignorance, and thanks in advance.

Recently I heard a loud pop when going from standby to the 40 watt channel. Amp still seems to work ok but since then there is a kind of minor but noticeable high pitch sound when on that 40 watt channel. Cant hear it when on 20 watt. You can hear it with nothing plugged into the amp and also when my guitar is plugged in. The only noise noticeable before was just the normal kind of hiss sound that seems to be normal. Also it doesnt get worse or better by turning the volume up or down. Its just kind of there from the moment you click it on to the 40 watt. Can hear it on clean channels also. I'm 90 percent sure it seemed to have started right after that loud kind of pop when going from standy to the 40 watt. Any thoughts or ideas on how to solve this? Thanks for any input!!
My origin 20 sounds the same on each of the three output levels (no change in volume, tone.) How can I see if the switch needs repair?
I made a post a little while ago seeking alternative options to a used JCM/DSL half stack since that would likely be way too loud. My take away was that I would try to pick up a DSL20HR and a 2x12 cab. I can spend good money for this, becouse I won on the Spin Palace - I found it on this page https://casinos-rate.com/spin-palace-casino-app.html. So here is what I want.
Problem is that the DSL20HR and 2x12 cabs are not very popular on the used market so i'd either have to buy new or buy on ebay and ship. In any event - that is more expensive (~25%) than just picking up a used DSL100H/1960A half stack which are flooding the used market in my area right now. Even the DSL40 combos are only marginally cheaper than a half stack
I don't mind spending a little extra if there is actually a benefit to going the DSL20HR/ 2x12 cab route (tone / performance wise) but it honestly seems like its more expensive to go that route with no benefits.
Thoughts? Should I just get a half stack?
Guitar and lead both work fine however my Marshall DSL40 (purchased Dec 2018) has stopped working, all lights work however there is no sound. High power output also makes strange popping/crackling noises when idle, also as of 2 weeks ago the amp would randomly but rarely make a clicking noise when in standby, this stopped a week later but I had previously never ever heard this noise before. The standby also emits a quiet hum.
Just realised the classic gain channel (clean) is louder than the ultra gain channel on my amp. Is this normal? This is with both channels being set the same. Also the preamp tube for the classic gain channel is very dim to the point it's hard to see it lighting up! This is my first tube amp so I'm pretty clueless.
Can I - from using my serial number - see somewhere, what model my Marshall Amp is, and how old it is? The sserial number is: 958317042
ive had a mg30cfx for a couple years now. the amp randomly cuts out every now and then. volume doesnt go over 3.... any ideas??
Hi
I have a TSL 100 that gives low output on crunch and lead channel. (no tube problems)
I´ve seen that this problem is common. Do you have a suggestion what could be wrong?
I suspect one of the J-Fet switches are faulty but I can´t locate any faulty ones?
(I do amp service part time)
Regards / Lars
I bought this amp in late 2016 and about 3 months ago the mic channel died. No sound at all from it. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to do>
Need to replace Pots for 3310 Mini Head, any advice on type and how to etc..? Thanks y'all!
I am about to purchase a Code 100 Head , all I have is a 4ohm 212 Cab. Is this okay to do. I know offically it is not, but for tube amps I've heard this is fine to do.
Hi!
A newbie question here. Just bought the as50d amp and I'm a bit lost with the effects controls on it. So here's the thing that's bothering me, does the switches for channel one and two also control reverb or is reverb always on if the control nob is turned on of course. It is always on my amp if the nob is turned, even when non of the channel switches aren't pressed. Should it be like that that or is it something wrong with the amp? So should the channel switches next to chorus also turn on or off the reverb or not?
I purchased an AS50D amp a while ago, and while I've otherwise been extremely happy with it, when it arrived the caps fell off many of the knobs, which is obviously annoying since I can't see what the current settings are.
I contacted the (Swiss, German-speaking) vendor, who contacted Marshall, and they shipped me a baggy of replacement knobs.
Naively it appears that I should be able to pull the old knobs off and push these on (as I see no evidence of a set-screw anywhere). However, applying reasonable force with my hand or even prying with a screwdriver, I can't get the old knobs to come off. I don't want to risk applying a large force until I'm more confident that I'm following the correct procedure and won't break anything.
So, my questions are
- are these in fact the correct replacement knobs?
- what is the recommended procedure to replace the knobs?
- if I am supposed to simply pull the old knobs off, should I expect to apply a lot of force?
- if not and these are the correct knobs, what is the recommended procedure to replace the knobs?
Hello, I recently purchased a Marshall Code 25 amp, and i'm not sure if the crackling sound was there from the start since it's barely audiable and when i play i can't really notice it, but when the amp is on and the guitar is not plugged on( or it is plugged in) there's a weird crackling sound that occurs every 6-7 seconds
Here's a video showing the issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWFHlhBU1R8
Any idea guys? I tried switching the power cable and the power socket as well same issue.
