The manual that came with the head says use output 3 when using a single 8 ohm cab.

The online manual on the Marshall website says to  use output 2 when using a single 8 ohm cab.

I  have plugged a single cab into these both  at different times and output 2 seems to have more volume and treble than output 3

I am slightly confused and annoyed as shouldn’t  either 8 ohm output sound the same irregardless of which one I plug my single 8 ohm cab into?

I would appreciate some clarification so that I can use the correct 8 ohm output for my speaker cab!

Update to my original post as I  have an additional question related to rear speaker outputs.

The third output speaker socket and the revised manual show this as output for 2x16 ohm. (Mine has the modified sticker attached)

Does this mean:

a: that you can plug two 16 ohms speaker cabs which have been set up in parallel into output socket 3 and the power amp sees a total of 8 ohms? .

b: output socket 3 already internally wired in parallel with socket 2 and such you plug one 16 ohm cab into socket 3 and one 16 ohm cab into socket 2, for a total of 8 ohm impedance?

c: Not sure what else could be possible?

Could you please confirm which is the correct approach? Thanks, Ross

Good day. Yesterday I bought Marshall Mode EQ headphones and ran into a problem.
Smartphone ASUS Zenfone 4 max, Android 8.1.0. When the headphone cable is shaken while listening to music, the volume on the smartphone spontaneously decreases. What can you advise?

Hi,

I recently buy a Code 100 head and 4x12 cabinet and I loving it!

But I do have one concern the hum, there is a humming noise coming from the speakers when not played or not plugged in?

When I put the power one the humming is there and when played humming isn´t noticeable.

Hi! I recently bought my Marshall DSL 100 HR. There is a silent recording mode. If my understanding is correct when the amp is in a standby mode only preamp section is active. Can I use my amp in standby mode for silent recording at home without a load/cab?

I would monitor it via my soundcard. Just to be clear I would not activate the 100/50 power amp section only stay in STB mode.

Could this cause any harm to the amp?

Thanks.

I have recently had my iphone 8 software updated to ios 13.1.2 and since then have not been able to control my Code 25 amp via Gateway from my phone even though, in iphone settings, I am connected via bluetooth but within the Gateway App I'm not. I have upgraded my Gateway App to version 1.5 back in July and up to now it's worked perfectly well. Is anyone else having this problem and if so  is there an App upgrade?

Was curious if the footswitch on this is a short to sleeve connection.  Going to use a headrush gigboard with it using the 4CM but also want to contral the channels much the like the included footswitch does.

My question is concerning the Code 100H. When using an external cabinet, is it better to use the preset power/cab selections or to turn them off. Does this apply to the Marshall code cabinet and any other cabinet, or just to a different cabinet ie: 2x12 Morgan ? Thanks.

Trying to update my Code 50 to the new firmware but it says "Not Connected" to the computer. I've tried everything that is on the troubleshooting page, I have an Mac pro and tried with both Crome and Opera. Last time I updated it was not any problems.

I have following versions on the amp (see this when I'm starting the amp in the bootloader mode)
BL: 0.6
MCU: 1.3
DSP: 1.1

Do you have any more tips on how to update the firmware to the new?

Hello,

Since updating Code 25 to firmware 1.44, the bootup time is now very slow and can take up to 20 sec before being able to play a sound from the amp.

Wtf ?

Do you experience the same latency?

Any chance of a fix or a possible downgrade ?

Thank you.

Hey you guys ! Still loving my Code, for light rehearsals and mostly direct into my recorder! Any chance of Gateway for Windows PCs? I dig using my Code direct to my computer Studio, and it would be cool to have the Gateway on the big screen as well! Just wondering.

Thanks

Dear Marshall Team,

It took some time, almost a year, but finally we got the long awaited update of the firmware to fix the painful Bluetooth issue on CODEs. I installed it a few days ago (which was a bit of an issue as reported in another of my posts but finally succeeded) and now CODE does what it is supposed to do.  BT comes on and connects as it should every time I turn on the amp and start Gateway on my Ipad/Iphone.

I'm very happy that you could fix the problem and I encourage all brothers and sisters in pain to upgrade the firmware asap if they haven't done already.

In the light of this fix I think we, the community, may also forgive you that for months you told us that it is not a firmware issue ;-)

So far I also think that the BT connection is more stable than it used to be.

Now I can enjoy again my little CODE 25.

Thanks, Alex F.

It took more than a year, but still!

Finally the annoying Bluetooth problem is fixed!

The amp turns on Bluetooth after power on,  reconnects to the smartphone automatically without manual pairing and the application works fine (there's some problem with application scaling on LG G7 due to screen resolution, but I can live with that).

Thank you for this update, Marshall!

Even if the process was soooo slow that the 1-year warranty ended, it's good to know that you didn't abandon this product :)

Honestly I thought that we won't get any updates and I was surprised to see the Gateway application update and checked the forum just in case.

Best Regards,

Ilya

This past week (three days ago to be exact) I purchased and took delivery of my second Code™100H amplifier head. I was told

by a friend of mine that this head is being discontinued and no longer in production ― and my online dealer was discounting it

for $150.00 off the regular sale price.

In my opinion, the Code™100H ranks right up there with the very best sounding amplifier heads that Marshall Amplification PLC.

has ever produced; the 1959 Super Lead MKII ‘Plexi’, the Silver Jubilee, and the JVM100H.

Why Marshall, is this most excellent amplifier head ― with its extremely vast array of super-high-quality sounds ― being discontinued?

My guess, is an immense lack of promotion, patience, and education on the infinite possibilities that this amplifier can produce ― if only the user would

spend some quality time listening, tweaking, and editing . . . It took me less than ten minutes to edit my four favourite preset sounds.

Perhaps this fine lady said it best: ‘You get to have whatever you want . . . with a side of whatever you want . . . ’ ― Nita Strauss. 🍴🍰🍴🍰
