Hello folks,

I fiilishly messed up the input jack on my MG15CFX by tripping over the cable, and I'm not sure what the correct part to replace it with. I think I could do the soldering myself if necessary, although having the full assembly with the little curcuit board already attached would be best.

Meanwhile I'm tempted to remove the little plastic cover and see if I can bend the contacts back into shape. Has anyone ever tried that?

Hello! As stated in the title when I run my emulated out into my SSL2 audio interface using the line level setting and the hi-z setting as recommended in the SSL2 manual, with the channel volume on the interface all the way down the meter is in the yellow and even on the clean channel on the head if I strum hard I get lots of fizz and crackle. This happens both on the 1W and .1W settings. The distortion channel of the amp sounds great, but the background crackle and fuzz comes through both on my monitoriing channel on the interface and my DAW.  This happens on both input channels on my interface. Even if I deselect the Hi-z and line level inputs and turn the volume way up to where I can barely hear the guitar, I get crackle when I strum.

My questions are: is there something I can do to chill this really hot signal out? Or is something wrong with my amplifier and it requires service?

Further info: I bought this amp used from guitar center online and don't know it's actual age, although it looks and feels nearly brand new.

Thank you for your time!

Recently updated the firmware for my code 50 and it stopped short of complete firmware installation when I received a pop-up to restart the installation. The amp is stuck at ready to update but now the firmware won't install again. Tried a factory reset but now the amp will say USB not connected...until I reconnect....then it will read... ready for update. Itried on Mac IOS Sonoma 14.5 with Crome 126.0.6478.57, PC windows 10  with Crome 126.0.6478.57 and the issue remains. Which won't update anymore or resume where it left off. Can I get the original firmware or another way to factory reset? Buttons doesn´t  work.

Hi

I've just bought two used 6100LE Gold amp heads and the certificates are lost or missing.
Is it possible to get duplicates of these certificates?

Thanks

Hi, I have DSL40CR and want to use it as a preamp only, without connecting to a speaker, since I want to use its speaker with some other power amp. Can I safely use the DSL in standby-only mode?

Does AC line power issues negatively affect Code series amps?

I have some problems with the wiring in my home (USA), one meter that I used indicates grounding issues.

My home was built in the mid-70s so I suppose that it was built according to the code of that time period. One thing that I've noticed is that there are no grounding rods for the electric box. Current code requires that 2-6' rods be driven in the ground approx 6' apart connected to the power box to provide proper grounding for the electric service and safety for the home

I've said all of that  to ask how extreme noise on AC power lines affects a Marshall Code 50?  I can hear the noise thru my amps. I've tried using a Morley line filter plus a line filter that I built and neither helped.

There are times that my amp sounds like the signal is fluctuating, causing the volume to go high & low. I can't get the tone from that amp that I should be able to. There are other issues as well - I'm not satisfied with the performance of my Code 50 but I don't know that it's the amps fault

Thank You

Hey,
I recenty tried to plug in my Code 25 to an M1 Macbook Air running MacOs14.5. The Mac on connection does recognise the amp being connected when it asks for a permission to be used as a USB accessory but when I try to setup the input for Code, the laptop does not show Code either in System Preferences or Garageband preferneces. I have tried two of the USB B cables to no avail. Kindly helo me out on where the issue might lie. Do i perhaps need to download a driver for the mac to recognise code as an input output device??

Thank you

I purchased a brand new DSL40CR in late January.  10 days past the 45 day return policy for Guitar Center, the amp completely stopped working.  Took it to my local, authorized warranty repair location and a resistor was replaced.  Amp worked fine for a few days, but the LED's (red/green) would only show red when switching channels and master volumes.  Took it back again, this time the entire circuit board was replaced.  Amp worked for 2 days, then NO LEDs, no audio again.  Looks like the board will need to be replaced again.  Is this a common occurance with this model?  Is there no "lemon law" type policies where the defective product is finally replaced?  This is my very first Marshall amp, and so far the experience has been HORRIBLE.  I have been without an amp longer than it's been home and and usable.  Anyone else having the same issue?  So far I am NOT loving the legendary Marshall amp.

How long do I have to wait before turning on the standby buttons after pressing the Power button? I mean optimal warm-up and safety of the tubes.

My amp is Marshall DSL20CR

Hello Guys,

i've been researching about Edward Van Halen Brown sound for 10 years. I mean the VH1 and VH2 albums.

I've tried many brown sound amps like the bray 4550, many plexis, sv20 and so on. I've come close with them but there always seemed to lack something.

because of that i've learn how to build amps to fulfill my quest and i think that by accident i found what was perhaps going on in eddie's amp. I believe i've perhaps built the best brown sound sounding amp and i want to share the mods i used with marshall.

I believe it was modded because in a biography released by journalist Neil Zlozlower José arredondo is interviewed and he said he created eddies tone with him and that the amp was really modded. José was at the end of his life and stopped modding amps he had nothing to win. Moreover eddie never denied this claimed from his biography. Then there is Rudy leiren which was eddie amp tour tech, josé was more the modding amp tech. Rudy leiren also admitted that the amp was modded.

If Steve Fryette, Mike Solano, John Suhr and Dave friedman said that the amp was stock it's only because josé put the amp back to stock. Dave friedman even admitted in a live stream that half of the components were not stock but some had stock marshall values. here is a picture of Eddie's amp on the top (by dave friedman), the bottom one is a stock super lead 68 12309 8 numbers appart. :

See those cherry drop capacitors ? those were used a lot by José to mod amps. It's like one of his signatures.

It has been 2 years that i build amps and this year while experimenting with mods with Eddie's amp preamp specs (the ones leaked by dave friedman) i've managed to get closer than anything i've heard and it happened by accident. I inspired my mods by José arredondo mods (he was ed's amp tech from 71-72 until 1979 after being diagnosed with cancer). I was modding my amp and i forgot to solder something back and i turned the amp on and suprise i got the brown sound with this extremely rich and thick distortion. I was like wtf... ?!!!!!!!!!! then i checked my board and saw what happened.

i'm not claiming it's the exact same mods eddie had but i believe it's close enough to offer to sell a brown sound amp for guitar players. It's way better than any brown sound amp that i've  ever tried for Vh1 and Vh2.

i've even made a website related to the tone (there are many corrections and updates to do)

I really dig everything about his tone his humbuckers etc. For example i recently learnt that eddie used 12H30 55hz blackbacks combined with 20w greenbacks and got the confirmation by someone selling original cabinets owned and played by eddie during his early tours. The JBL d120f were there only to fill voids on the top cabs.

His first frankie humbucker was probably a dimarzio paf then when it got painted he used an overwound PAF from an es-335. The Bumblebee used an overwound dimarzio super distortion from the 70's. He later swapped the ceramic magnet for the one in the paf (which is probably alnico V). He then asked Duncan to clone the super distortion in black and decided to swap to alnico 2. This is the humbucker for fair warning and women and children first. for 1984 the kramer 5150, it was a damaged duncan JB reading 180k instead of the usual 16k this was recently confirmed by larry dimarzio

I wanted to share my findings with marshall amplification. if Marshall doesn't want it then i'll probably make the layout free access for everyone... and only those who will get their amp modded will be able to enjoy it...

it would be a waste to not take advantage of this and to give guitar players an opportunity to get this sound.

So is there any possibility to contact your team of research and development concerning guitar amplification ?

I have a Marshall Origin 50 Head.  Lovely amp.  When I run the Master past half way, the amp hisses regardless of anything being plugged into it.  Below 50% no hiss.  I turn Master to 3/4 and gain down to 1/4 so I can get a crystal clear tone.

Is this normal or is my amp faulty?

I have a Solid State Lead 100. I cannot find anything like it online. It is a one-piece unit with 5 inputs, serial number 18132. It was given to me years ago by someone who used it in the 1960s. How can I put a value on it?

Sorry to bother you again. Could you send me some configuration examples for a rhythm guitar with gain and slightly distorted with chorus, and another example for when it's time for the solo where I can activate that preset and clearly notice the volume increase? It would be example for A1 (rithm guitar) and A2 (solos)??. Where does the change and difference between the internal values of the two presets lie? Based on your example, which will be very helpful, I will be able to configure my settings for my band's songs when playing live, to know which preset is suitable for solos (because the volume is higher) and which preset works for rhythm, arpeggiated, or accompaniment guitar(lower volume). I know it's difficult, but if you send me a small outline, I can experiment with your suggestions. I'll leave you my email in case it's easier for you to connect with me. I would greatly appreciate this help, as I'm finding it impossible to play live with the Code 100 H and be confident in the parts of the song that are rhythm guitar and the parts where there's a solo that should stand out from the rest of the band.

Thanks very much for your usefull help
