I purchased a Marshall Kilburn II speaker and had to return it because of the standby mode. The speaker turns off if not used for 10 minutes "to save battery charge" according to the manual, but it does so even when it is connected to the power source with a power cord. I basically had to approach the speaker and manually push the Bluetooth button to wake it up. I already contacted Marshall Support and they responded that it's not possible to disable standby mode in the Kilburn II. I can't imagine a more annoying thing and can't even figure out why it was necessary to ruin an otherwise perfect speaker with this "feature". Why wouldn't you make it switchable and give users a choice whether to use it or not? Would it be possible at least to disable standby mode at an authorized service center?
Hi everyone,
I've a very similar question to one that has already been asked.
Is it safe to use the headphone/line out without any speakers connected to the rear on a MG100HDFX head?
Also, when I do use the speakers, do I have to use both speaker outputs at the rear or is using just one ok?
One more thing, is it safe to use my faulty G80R CD as a speaker cab with my MG1000HDFX, I'll be using nothing like full power, just having fun in my room?
Thank you in advance,
Voxathon.
So, my CODE 25's speaker doesn't work. The rest of the electronics turn on and work fine. I know it's getting signal because the tuner works. No issues with the display.
But there's no sound either from the speaker or the headphone jack. So, the signal isn't getting anywhere other than into the input port and as far as the top circuit board, I assume.
I note in the picture below that I took that the red and black wires aren't connected to anything on the board to the right. There also appears to be two empty connections. I wonder if they need to go on there and if I can safely do so myself. Any help appreciated.
Also, yes, the transformer isn't secured to anything. I found two loose screws inside that I assume are meant to secure it to the side of the cabinet.
Hello. I bought a Marshall Code 50 two months ago used. The first days it was working perfectly, but now, whenever I want to play some guitar with the amp, it stops sounding out of nowhere. I assume it has something to do with the headphone out, assuming that the HP OUT cuts the signal of the speaker. Has this happened to anyone else out here. If so, how did you guys solve this issue?
PS: The firmware is updated ;)
Hello,
I took delivery of a Code50 last Friday, and already I have noticed a major flaw. I have updated the firmware, and it didn't solve the problem.
1. On many of the presets, there is what sounds to me like a slight buzz or a distorted sound as the chord is being held after about 4 or maybe 5 seconds. Obviously, this isn't going to be good when recording.
For example, I have been using many of the clean sounds, such as, American Clean (preset 32). This is a prime example of the unwanted buzz as the chord fades (only 4 or 5 seconds). There are so many more presets that also have this problem.
The issue occurs through both the Code50 built-in speaker and my Beyer Dynamic DT100 headphones. Using headphones proves that it is not the internal speaker at fault.
I can email a sound byte if you need one.
The last thing I want to do is re-box the amp and return it for a replacement only to have the same issue happen with the next unit. So, please can you let me know if this is a widely known fault because, if it is, I will unfortunately have to send it back for a full refund.
2. A second issue worth noting here is that the clean sounds are not very loud. When wearing headphones, I have to increase both volumes to 10, but I can still hear the strumming of the actual guitar with my plectrum coming through the headphones. The volume on the clean sounds are too weak and definitely not loud enough when also playing through the Code50 speaker, not just the headphones. Conversely, the distorted rock sounds are really loud when the volume is set to a low level, but the clean sounds couldn't be more opposite.
It will be a shame if I return the unit because I love the app and the ability to back up presets and also search for new ones.
Many thanks
Hello,
Yesterday, when I tried to charge my new Marshall Minor II for the first time. Fresh out of the box it came in.
For a while the LED that was supposed to turn on when it's charging was off, but when it finally turned on, it started alternating between red and white lights every second or less. Also, every time it turned to white, it'd play the charging notification sound.
I left it there first, for about 3 hours, then the whole night, so it has already been plugged on the charger for at least 12 hours. But still, every time I take it off the charger, it shuts down and doesn't give a single sign of life until I connect it to the charger again...
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a way to fix it? I don't think I'm able to replace it because it was given to me by someone else and they don't have the proof of purchase anymore.
I hope someone can help me and thanks in advance,
Felipe
I made a post a little while ago seeking alternative options to a used JCM/DSL half stack since that would likely be way too loud. My take away was that I would try to pick up a DSL20HR and a 2x12 cab. I can spend good money for this, becouse I won on the Spin Palace - I found it on this page https://casinos-rate.com/spin-palace-casino-app.html. So here is what I want.
Problem is that the DSL20HR and 2x12 cabs are not very popular on the used market so i'd either have to buy new or buy on ebay and ship. In any event - that is more expensive (~25%) than just picking up a used DSL100H/1960A half stack which are flooding the used market in my area right now. Even the DSL40 combos are only marginally cheaper than a half stack
I don't mind spending a little extra if there is actually a benefit to going the DSL20HR/ 2x12 cab route (tone / performance wise) but it honestly seems like its more expensive to go that route with no benefits.
Thoughts? Should I just get a half stack?
I am inexperienced with amps, I want to get the sound from the Arctic Monkeys first album "Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not" I'm told its very simple but I just don't know how to make it. Any body know how to achieve such a sound
Would really appreciate it
Hello,
I updated the gateway app 5 minutes ago to latest version - my phone is an moto g (gen2) running android 5.0.2. The app worked sort of ok on previous version but now its giving a message as follows.
"Screen not supported - tThe minimum screen size is 640x960"
From what I can see under the message though looks to me ok I can see "00 EL34 Heaven" and all the initial presets not covered by the message but thats it nothing works so I guess thats it after about 2 and a half weeks of being apple to control from the app I now find that I cannot do anything from the app.
thanks

Hello.
Is the internal load activated by DI out only?
I want to use the FX send but not the DI out (without any speaker attached).
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hello to everyone,
I recently had the opportunity to play in a Spark amp. It has really functional applications. Do you have any plans to update your mobile app with more features like Smart Jam?
I would be glad if you answer.
Hi - never having used a DI out before, being reasonably new to home recording and not wanting blow up a newly purchased SC20H, the question is - can I just run an instrument cable (or speaker cable ?) from the DI Out on the back of my SC20H straight into the Mic/Instrument inputs of my audio interface (Presonus Aidiobox USB) ? I dont have a cab for the head yet and want to start using it this way until I get a cab. Thanks in advance.
Got myself what i thought could be the greatest idea of an amp,Origin 20h. looks awesome , plenty of clean , Too much clean , i can t seem to get gain and dirt out of it , i tried with Humbuckers seymour"s Pearly gates, and Aph-1 ( little gain but just to mention ) and with my strat with ssl-1 and ssl-5 it was cleaner than my fender Blues junior ?? is there a way i can get it to growl more , change tubes? what should i put in to get it the meanest ? i reallythought i could drive it better , oh yes and the treble, mid , bass, no big difference there also . Not sure i want to invest to much in case there is no significative results. what should i do to get real gainy dirt, please don t answer me to by a jcm900. cheers
Hi everyone!
im a Marshall code 50 owner.
i was trying to record my guitar via USB using GarageBand, but it was not possible.
I setup the input as Code in GarageBand but doesn't work.
any suggestions? or maybe Code doesnt work with GarageBand?
can you recomend any interface (not an expensive one) to record my guitar?
Hello everyone,
I was playing today and my amp stopped working and from then the screen switch on and off all the time and no showing anything. It is not working at all. Does anyone know what could I do? Any support place to ask?
Just making sure my Marshall jcm900 duel super lead 100 takes a 4Amp fuse.My amp is popping fuses and I bought a matching quad el34's for it and ecc84's for it and still popping fuses.I'm gonna have to have tech fix it cause there are so many video's telling you what is and they are all different. It's enough to drive a guitar player crazy😩
Hi, is it possible to connect 2 (or more) Stanmore II or Wooburn II speakers at the same time to a smart TV?
Somewhere on the internet it was mentioned that replacing the power tube of a DSL5CR does not require to re-bias as the DSL5CR is a "self bias" system.
Can anyone confirm this?
Other question what would be the best brand to have for my DSL5CR power tube?
Hello,
I have a new DSL20CR. When I use emulated out, the signal is only present when the amp is on standby. When I switch the amp to low or high mode, there is no longer any signal on the emulated out. Is that correct?
The sound that a headphone, connected with the code100, produces does not include the effects that are placed in sent and return. That is really strange.
Music played with a phone or tablet that is connected with Bluetooth does go through the effects in the sent and return loop. Really strange again in my opinion.
I would like to know why it is wired this way and I would be really happy with a solution for at least the headphones!
Kind regards!
